Burberry Gold Copper & Dusky Mauve Eye Colour Creams Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Burberry Gold Copper No. 100 Eye Colour Cream
Burberry Eye Colour Cream ($30.00 for 0.13 oz.) is a new cream eyeshadow formula that is available in eight shades. The formula is supposed to be “creamy, blendable” in texture with a “long-lasting” and “crease-free” wear. Burberry says it can be used to “deliver an effortless wash of luminising colour.” The texture is lightly spongy, though the two shades I tried had a firmer consistency with less spring compared to other formulas I’ve tried. They’re very blendable with semi-opaque coverage that’s easily taken down to more of a wash of color or layered for more opaque coverage, but they’re more medium buildable than a true wash of color. They lasted for six to eight hours on me before creasing.
Burberry Gold Copper No. 100 Eye Colour Cream ($30.00 for 0.13 oz.) is a soft, medium brown with a gold, frosted finish. It had semi-opaque coverage in one layer, though it can be sheered out by blending more or layered once more for opaque coverage. The texture is smooth but firmer and less emollient in the pot. This shade started to crease after six hours of wear. Bobbi Brown Praline (LE, $21.00) is darker. Make Up For Ever I538 Pearly Gray Beige (P, $21.00) is more shimmery, lighter. Clinique Ample Amber (P, $17.00) is darker. Chanel Tisse Vendome #1 (P, ) is darker. Chanel Tisse Vendome #1 (P, ) is darker. Make Up For Ever I634 Praline (P, $21.00) is darker. Stila Peace (P, ) is darker, brighter, warmer. Tarte Keepsake Frame (LE, ) is more shimmery, darker. LORAC Sienna (LE, ) is darker, cooler. Makeup Geek Purely Naked (P, $5.99) is less shimmery. Dior Cuir Cannage #4 (P, ) is more shimmery, darker. Surratt Beauty Cuivre (P, $20.00) is darker. Sephora Collection Selfie (P, $13.00) is more shimmery, lighter. Too Faced Desire (P, ) is darker, warmer. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.
Burberry Dusky Mauve No. 108 Eye Colour Cream ($30.00 for 0.13 oz.) is a soft, medium-dark taupe brown with warm undertones and a frosted sheen. It had semi-sheer to semi-opaque pigmentation with a blendable consistency. It had more slip than Gold Copper but was dry enough that pressing at the mound in the jar showed it to “crack” almost, even though it did have some slip and was certainly still a cream eyeshadow. It wore well for eight hours before creasing on me. Maybelline Sleek & Spice (95) (LE, $6.99) is darker. MAC Until Dawn #1 (LE, $21.00) is less shimmery, darker. Tom Ford Beauty Nude Dip #3 (LE, ) is darker, warmer. Make Up For Ever S560 Taupe (P, $21.00) is less shimmery, warmer. MAC Satin Taupe #2 (P, $16.00) is less shimmery, lighter. Anastasia Pink Champagne (P, $12.00) is lighter, warmer. MAC Force of Nature #1 (LE, $21.00) is more shimmery, darker. Burberry Rosewood (202) (P, $29.00) is less shimmery. Sleek MakeUP Paradise on Earth (P, $9.99) is more shimmery, darker. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

Ooh, I was SO excited when these came out, as they aren’t as sparkly as the Dior Mono Fusions or as shimmery as the Giorgio Armani Eye Tints. Don’t get me wrong– I love the Dior and GA, but sometimes you just want a softer look. But I’m not sure if they will hold up on my oily lids, even with primer. I might try one. Christine, are you reviewing more, or just these 2 shades? I was eyeing the purple
Sorry, I only have these two!
That’s too bad these don’t perform better. Still lovely… I appreciate your reviewing these so quickly as several colors were on my maybe list. Will you be reviewing any other colors in this line?
Sorry, I only have these two!
These are pretty disappointing. Especially that Gold Copper creased after a mere 6 hours! I will stick with the powder and hybrid dupes and near-dupes for these two. The only positive is the way they give off that glow!
I was surprised and disappointed for sure.
I know Burberry’s thing is soft sheer layers but man do I wish those had a bit more punch.
I wish it lasted longer!
Christine, the Gold Copper looks very shrunken and like the product could fall right out of the jar (my Chanel Ebloui has gone like that) but the other one looks fine. Are any of the others “shrunken” like that and does it affect the application at all? (I can still use Ebloui but have to “fluff” it up a bit with a somewhat firm brush).
I only have the two showed in the post, so I have no idea. That’s how mine came, so it’s hard to say if it affected the application or not!
Eh, they look underwhelming, to be honest.
Not too impressive!
I’m tempted by this new Burberry shadow, being a cream shadow addict, but I’m a little hesitant here. I was so disappointed by their new Lip & Cheek Bloom that I ended up returning it – something that I hardly ever do. So not too sure if I should risk another disappointment!
If you end up trying, keep us posted!
Dusky Mauve: There are no words for what a perfectly beautiful nude this is. It’s the exact kind of color I’d use all over the eye for a quick look. If I were ever tempted to spend $30 on a single… My oily eyelids and creams, though, don’t get along even with primer. 🙁
I was bummed that these weren’t longer-wearing!
I was so excited about this release from Burberry but I’m so disappointed by the swatches. You definitely saved me some money 🙂
No problem, Beti! 🙁 I was really looking forward to these.
That is dissapointing…. I meamn.. They are pretty but I can barely tell they are there at all. It’s more like light with a hint of colour.
They’re probably not the best shades to showcase against my skin tone.
I was hoping these would perform better as I had several on my list. Christine, what is the brown eyeliner you have on your bottom lash line?
Thanks, you do a fantastic job and I really appreciate all you do.
I believe it was Sephora Tiramisu! 🙂
Thank you!
Hmmm – for the price – these look a bit average to me. I think you can get the same effect for half the price elsewhere eg Sephora Collection, Makeup Geek and I am sure Colour Pop has something like it too.
ColourPop’s formula is very similar to it!
Too subtle. I like the colours, but I like a heavier textured cream shadow like TF or even Charolette Tilbury (which fortunately does not crease on me). Thanks for the review.. saved me.. again
Those CTs are soooooo prettty. I am very jealous of the non-creasing!
Oh no!..I’m kinda confused on how to think here. I want Burberry products to perform as they should and the few that I own do. these don’t seem to be meeting the expectations I had for them. $30 for a single cream color- it should be lush and beautiful. Creasing after 6 hours and dryness should not be mentioned. There are no Burberry counters near me. So, trying out other shades really won’t be an option. Hmm.. I probably will pass unless these ever make it to Sephora or Nordstrom’s beauty dept or I happen to see rave comments from another community member down the road.:)
I think Nordstrom has these online at least! I might grab another one or two, but we’ll see!
Well, that makes a return less painful. But, I don’t blame you. I’m on low-buy of permanent items due to Fall collections. So, I will wait and see what you do, lol! Maybe after the Fall and back to School aftermath passes- we will see for me. 🙂
Same 🙂 And I know holiday is nearing, too 🙁
Oh,yeah..that too! Never-ending! The summer just flew by!
Noooo! I was really hoping for much better longevity from these, especially since I have oily lids. Oh, well?
Same 🙁 I was surprised!
These two would be great for those everyday natural looks that I’ve been loving lately. I already have plenty of (semi-) dupes for these shades though.
Thank goodness you have dupes!
don’t look so bad but they look so sheer in one layer when you blend it and with this type of products if I build it more than one or two layers that mean it will crease faster too. I could careless about shimmer, just give me some color pigment! Bobbi Brown Long Wear Cream Shadow in a jar is the only one that look good on my lids so far.
I really wish they applied more smoothly!
Hmmm interesting Do you think a primer would help with the creasing? I’m still curious about that purple color…
Primer could help!
Beautiful packaging but such a disappointing color payoff – especially for the $$$.
I wish they lasted longer!
I wanted dusty mauve to be better than it is 🙁
I have Pink Heather, Dusky Mauve, Mink and Festive Gold and I’m taking mine back today :-(. I’ve had them since late September or so and I LOVE the color but it’s just been too much work to get any pigment on the eyelid. I was having to really press and swirl with a short dense brush and do layer upon layer just to get any color on the brush, not to mention the work I had to do on my eyelids to get any pigment there. I thought it would make the layering and building-up-a-color process more fun, but it’s ended up just being tedious. And it’s not like (at least for me anyway) the color was easy to work with once it was placed because it’s so tonal and sheer that by the time it showed up where you placed it, you’d really sort of ground it in and you wouldn’t be able to move it around or work with it, blend it, etc. I really wanted to like these – I love the packaging and liked the look of the product. 🙁
I’m surprised these weren’t better, because the formula (at this point) isn’t innovative or new, so there’s no excuse to get it wrong.
