For daytime weddings, I’d wear neutral eyes and a light lip (probably medium pink or coral); for evening weddings, a smokey brown-gold eye and light coral lips.
Thanks to Christina for this question!
i will wear full make up to attend weddings. for day time i usually sually wear light purple or green eyeshadow. for night time i usually wear silver-grey with shimmering powder on eyes.
For a daytime wedding, I would probably go with neutral make-up with a pretty pink lipstick and for evening, I would bring out the serious red lips and some sexy lashes.
Last wedding I went to I wore a gorgeous dark purple smokey eye and a deep, kinda maroon, lip. 🙂
actually it depends on my dress. If it is an Indian wedding, full face of make-up is acceptable. Otherwise, I’d just focus on soft eyes and lip color that stands out.
Any examples for night wedding?
For day, a light blue (think Moon’s Reflection) smokey eye with a peach or nude lipstick with matching gloss.
(Actually can you recommend me some peach lipsticks from MAC? I’m in the N* 20/25 Range )
For night, a Bronze/gold smokey eye and a soft pink lip. Good thing you asked this question, I’ve got two weddings to go to this summer! 😉
It would depend on what I would be wearing. The last wedding I went to, I wore a plum colored dress with a beige shawl. I wore pink lipstick, peachy cheeks with plum and purple eye shadow. I probably wouldn’t use anything more colorful than purple though. I don’t want to be remembered as the one wearing bright blue or green eye shadow on the special day for someone else. Otherwise, smokey or sculpted eyes, big lashes and either wine red lipstick or nudes or pinks. Lots of options!
Maybe you could do some looks for weddings, Christine ! I’m going to my cousin’s wedding next September and I’m already worried about my make-up!
I would wear what I usually wear regardless of the wedding thing. I mean I wear black clothes all the time, I wouldn’t wear pale pink because it’s a wedding. The same goes with the makeup. but it’s no disrespect, I’m just me. If people want ME at their wedding it’ll be that way. Otherwise they don’t really want me to come so… CQFD XD
It would depend entirely on my outfit. But definitely somthing glam. 🙂
I asked this question because I was a bridesmaid this Valentine’s day for my best friend’s wedding. Our dresses were red and formal, so I searched countless red carpet looks with stars in red dresses. The winning formula seemed to be: shimmery neutral eyes, strong brows, tan blush/contouring, and red (orange-tinted or pinkish) lips. Turned out that’s what 3 out of the 5 of us ended up doing!
It will all depend of the dress I will be wearing. For dark dress I will go with neutral look and a nice shade of pink lipstick, for light dresses I will wear soft eyes and a bolder lipstick.
I actually have a Saturday evening wedding coming up at the end of this month, I’m going to go with blue based classic matte red lips, soft mauveish-brown cheeks and a gold wash over the eyes with black liquid liner. I can’t wait! Hehe, I put more thought into the make-up than the outfit(classic black A-line wrap dress with open-toed leopard print platform heels). 😉
A light red lip and brown eyes 🙂
I have a wedding in 2 weeks AND I’m doing the brides makeup.
I’ll just be wearing a neutral eye with probably viva gaga lipstick since it’s a daytime look. (my dress is pretty much kelly green). If it was night time I’d go more dramatic on the eye. The hard part is you know you can’t overshadow the bride, but atleast I know what she’ll have on so I don’t go to over the top! lol
In my place we only have night weddings. I usually put my own makeup: red lips are a must and mostly black eyeliner. If It’s a close relative of mine then a makeup artist does it for me – Arabic makeup all the way 😉
My standby wedding outfit revolves around a beautiful skirt I have in a gorgeous olive green and bronze shot silk skirt with appliqued roses. It’s too formal to wear just about anywhere else so I change it up with a green, brown or gold top (one time my mother lent me her camel Italian leather jacket for an autumn wedding and it looked great!) so I usually do my eye makeup with the Dior Mystic Jade 390 quint and use the dark green/brown shade in my crease.
I usually pair this with a tawny blush, a bit of bronzer and Chanel Rouge Allure lipstick in Fabulous 33.
I always feel lovely in that combo.
Night time: maybe a semi-smokey neutral eye with a baby pink lip. Nothing too flashy and overpowering. Full face makeup also.
Day time: A subtle eyeshadow look with a lightly colored coral lip and a clear gloss over it.
I’m South Asian, so weddings in my culture are all about bold, bright, beautiful colors. I’d go for something like smoky deep blue, but keep a nude shimmery lip.
