Sneak Peek: Fall 2015 Palettes from bareMinerals, Becca, Tarte Photos & Swatches
Tarte Energy Noir Eye & Cheek Palette
If it wasn’t apparent by the abundance of sneak peeks, but we are in the throes of fall color collections and releases. July you say? Well, they come a little earlier everywhere and maybe by 2020, we’ll be looking at fall in April 🙂 The best thing I can do for you is providing early swatches while I work on the testing and writing portion of the review process. (Testing takes the longest, followed by finding dupes, in case you were curious.) For total clarity, I purchased the Becca and Tarte palettes, while bareMinerals sent theirs as a press sample.

*BM Nightfall (blue) is pretty! So is Starstruck. Wish they would release those as singles, have way too many of the other shades already
*Becca’s kit is way too warm for me, but the pigmentation and colors look nice
*Tarte– uh oh. The shimmery shades look nice, but the matte shades are struggling, look dry
I would love a Ready single line!!
Wohooooooooooo
am as excited as you are …. keep rocking gal !!!
Thank you! xo
The Bare Minerals looked nicer than I thought it would swatched and the Tarte less so but I love the color selection in the Tarte.
Both palettes were actually a bit cooler-toned than I expected!
The Becca palette looks lovely
I hope they’ll do a cool-toned neutral one next!
Tarte makes the best palettes. I bought their Rainforest After Dark and Showstopper and they’re both stunning.
Glad you’re digging your two palettes 😀
Eagerly waiting for your Becca Ombre Rouge review, Christine! 🙂 It seems like the warm neutral matte palette I’ve really been missing from my collection. Holding out to see if it performs as well as it looks, esp. in terms of pigmentation.
Fingers crossed!
I am really interested in the BM palette. $26 is a steal! is it the Ready formula Christine?
Yep, it is the Ready formula!
Woohoo! I’m so impatiently awaiting your review!
I love the name and concept behind the name of the BM Work, Weekend, Wow palette but I have some of those shadows already and so don’t feel all that interested. If only the Tarte palette had a better, more flattering shade of blush for me, I would be on my way to Sephora NOW to buy it! But the blush might be the deal-breaker in this, sadly.
I really wish the Tarte blush was different. It’s actually in my notes to mention, but it’s so warm compared to the rest of the palette.
I will say my coloring generally favors cooler eye shadow tones and DEFINITELY warm cheek colors. So for me…. a pleasant relief to see something I could use for both eye and cheek.
Not sure about the quality of this particular palette, though. Might both wait for review and swatch it in person.
I think a warmer berry/plum or even pink would have been a better fit when I look at it, but it’s more orange-y, when there doesn’t seem to be enough to ground it (to me). I would so love to see you rocking the combo together so I could see it working well on someone! 🙂
The Tarte palette looks lovely, beautiful shades!
It is cooler than expected!
Dear Tarte, perhaps you could seek some professional counseling regarding your fear of color. Otherwise, I’m afraid we have no future together. Love, Me
Do you think that would work with the Tarte brand? Whenever I see a brand that is famous for and mostly does more neutral shades, I wonder if going brighter/more colorful makes sense. It reminds me of Bobbi Brown and when she did a neon/brights palette, and it was awful, so it was almost like, “Stick to what you know!”
True! But I’m just tired of seeing the same shades over and over from Tarte. Heck, I just want an excuse to buy something new from them. 😉
Bobbi Brown had a neon/brights palette?? The last 50 palettes that I’ve seen from her had 50,000 shades of brown. I’ve given up on her eye palettes. And Tarte is next. They need to take some risk, or risk losing customers who are are bored with the same colors coming out over and over again. I mean, I don’t expect them to go from neutrals to neons, as that’s not what their brands are about, but some color (greens, purples, blues) would be nice, and I would definitely consider buying them again.
They did! Maybe five years ago? It was chalky, dry, and sheer!
I agree!
I’m rarely into Tarte palettes but I’m really liking this Energy Noir release! I’m also curious about the lip crayon and cheek stain, did you also purchase them Christine?
Sorry, I only purchased the palette!
Whoa!!! If I’m feeling a little overwhelmed by all these “Fall” offerings, I cannot even begin to imagine what you must feeling with this motherload of palettes! And it’s only the very beginning of SUMMER?!? Must say, I think there are some lovelies stored within all 3!
Hopefully we’ll get a lil’ slowdown between now and August!
Of the three, I’m probably going to try to make a choice between the Tarte Palette and the one from Bare Minerals. Depending on the reviews I see, of course.
Ohhhhh that Tarte pallet looks amazing!!!!! Must have
Some very pretty colours in the palettes – although they are all basically neutral palettes.
Love Nightfall and Starstruck in the bareMinerals palette.
Like Charged Up and Up to Slate in the Tarte palette.
No greens! Sigh……….
How on earth do you have time to test all these? Your reviews always mention “stayed on for 8 hours” etc., and you only have one face! I picture you walking around during the day with one eye look on one eye, a completely different look on the other, two shades of blush on either cheek, and one shade of lipstick on your top lip and another on your bottom, all the while trying to explain to people you meet that you’re a professional and not some wild eccentric. Oh, the things you do for us!
That is actually how I test. If I’m able to, I will wear two neutral palettes so the eyes aren’t like… neons on one, neutrals on the other. I wear one lip product at a time, but I test, remove, test, remove (however many fit in the time for the day). To be honest, it’s rare that anyone notices/says anything. Oddly enough, when it is really differing, I’ll have someone say they like the makeup and I have to ask them… which eye.
I love this, “which eye?” LOL!!!! 😀
The Tarte palette is calling my name!
The becca palette looks good. I don’t need a lot of matte shades because I only use a matte shade in my crease (and I don’t always do that) , so this looks like it would be perfect.
I love the BareMinerals palette. It looks wonderful. The Becca palette is nice, but I don’t need it. The Tarte one is disappointing: What happened to the mattes? The colors look straight out of Tartelette palette, but the quality is awful. I love the blush, but agree it’s too orange for the palette. I wish it were sold separately.
I’m loooving that Tarte blush… I would get it if it were a single pan for sure!
Already received and am loving the Becca Ombre Rouges palette. But I’m biased because those colors are MY COLORS in capital letters! Like if Naked 3 and Too Faced Semi Sweet palette had a small, travel-sized baby, that would be it.
The Becca palette looks gorgeous, looking forward to you creating eyelooks with it!
I like the look of the ombre palette. The shades are so pretty.
Just wanted to let you know, I saw your post on a completely different website, the photos looked like the usual temptalia quality and realized that yes, indeed, someone has copied your post word for word and photo for photo. Just FYI, I truly appreciate how much time/ effort you put into this website. I found the plagiarism here – http://magng.com/fall-2015-palettes-from-bareminerals-becca-tarte-photos-swatches/
Thank you!
I can’t believe the cheapest palette swatched the nicest overall of the three! I’ve never been a bare minerals fan (I tried their original foundation and it looked so powdery and unnatural on me!) but their “ready” eye shadows have been looking pretty good lately! Not so impressed with the tarte and becca eyeshadows.
Hi Christine! I love your blog so much. Just wondering, out of these three palettes, which do you like the most/recommend? I feel as though Tarte keeps coming up with the same color scheme for their palettes, but maybe it’s still worth looking into? I know they’re all different, but thought I’d ask anyway. Thank you!
Haven’t tested them all yet! 🙂
