For me, it’s usually too sheer for my taste. Some apply better than others, but it’s my least favorite type of blush on the whole. I think Giorgio Armani’s Maestro Blush has been the best I’ve tried so far.

I’m not a fan of liquid blush…oily skin and liquid blush don’t go well together.
I find liquid blushes (and cream blushes too as a matter of fact) too hard for me to control. I’m never as sure of how bold or opaque it will be as I am with powder blushes, I find them harder to blend, and they sometimes move around the foundation underneath, which is a big problem since I have a lot of scarring on my cheeks right where the blush goes, so I think powder blushes just emphasize the texture less.
I don’t think I even know what a liquid blush is, let alone having ever tried one (Clarins did have an LE liquidy type blush that applied with a stubby doe-foot; it was really nice but it was more like a cream than a true liquid).
I love the Benefit tints I have, but I find myself not reaching for them that much because they stain my fingers, which I found is the best way to apply them. And I don’t particularly want my brushes stained either, heh. But when I do use liquid blush I love how natural it looks, as well as the longevity of staining products.
I haven’t used it much because I have oily skin. Of what I have tried, they are usually to sheer and dry too quickly, so you get stained streaks because there isn’t enough time to blend.
I like e.l.f.’s Studio HD Blush. It’s almost too pigmented, so it’s easy to use to much. Once I got the hang of it, though, I liked it. It stayed on and blended really nicely.
I used to use the Benetint blushes a lot actually. I wore them to the gym on otherwise bare skin. I like them that way because they are sheer and pretty natural looking and stay on through sweat. But, for an actual made up look, I prefer powder or cream. The Benefit brand are the only one I have used and I actually think they go on easily with fingertips.
Currently I don’t own any. To be honest, I haven’t in many, many years. Back in the late 70’s early 80’s, Covergirl had a really nice one that I loved because it worked well with my oil-well skin because it dried down to an oil-free foundation finish. It had “berry” in its name, and looked like a natural glowy flush. I prefer powder or ColourPop cream-to-powder blush.
Generally I find them too sheer and difficult to blend. With so many good cream and powder formulas on the market I don’t feel a need to make a liquid work for me.
I love a good liquid blush! I think some of them can be rather pigmented, it really depends on the formula. I like that it gives me a very natural flush of color with zero texture, as if the color really came from my skin. In my experience they also tend to be long-wearing.
The only thing I don’t like about them is that they can be hard to blend depending on the level of pigmentation.
I find that many of them (Benefit, I’m looking at you) have a tendency to stain where they’re first applied, so you end up with telltale “spotting” even if you blend quickly. I’m re-evaluating slightly since I tried the Dior Lip and Cheek Glow, which I love, but I don’t think that anything will replace powders for me in the immediate future.
I’ve tried a few different liquid blushes but can’t manage to apply them evenly. I’ve decided to pass on them.
I’m pretty sure my skin has an inbuilt liquid blush repellant. Every liquid blush I’ve tried shifts my foundation around, emphasises texture and discolouration and/or turns into a Rorschach inkblot test on my cheeks.
I bought some Benefit Tints (Cha Cha, Original, Pansy), and while they are pretty and natural-looking, they don’t last long on my teflon cheeks. And you have to blend fast or you get streaks and a tell-tale spot. I find the cream-to-powder blushes (Colour Pop) much easier to apply and last longer too. Or I ‘ll take a regular powder blush and stick a cream highlighter underneath to extend the wear.
I absolutely love my watercolour blushers by Daniel Sandler. I have oily skin, but since they are water-based– and extremely pigmented– they work very well for my skin. I use literally one drop, and it’s enough for both of my cheeks, and it blends out beautifully with fingers or a BeautyBlender. I feel like the formula meshes into the skin so much better than powder blush, and looks more like a natural flush or warmth on the cheeks.
I can’t think of anything that I like about liquid blushes. I have über dey skin and, although I moisturize like crazy, liquid tints seem to grab and stain the skin wherever they first come in contact and look splotchy on dry areas. I’m pretty patient and am willing to take time to make a product In love work, but I’ve never encountered a liquid product that was worth the time and effort. I love a good cream blush (Tom Ford, Inhope you’ll be releasing more beauties like your summer one) and believe powder blushers have become the gold standard for good reason: they’re easy to control, easy to blend, wear well, can be easily refreshed, and come in a huge variety of colors, textures, and finishes. So, who needs a liquid? Not me!

I’m not really sure I know what a liquid blush is, exactly… I tried one in the early-90s by Max Factor, but it was more of a “watery stain”. It was a sheer red color, and intended to be “universal”, and it was nice over bare skin. However, it just made a huge mess if one attempted to wear it over any sort of foundation, so it pretty much sat in a bin, and I eventually forgot about it completely, until I decided to destash a couple of years ago…
I do not like them as I have oily skin. Yes they can be really practical as you don’t need a brush to apply but I find blending them out is hard
It’s so easy to overdo it and end up looking like a clown! I do love that a little goes a long way though, and that color usually really blends with the skin, resulting in a super natural look.
I love liquid blush and how it gives a natural flush to the skin without it looking too dolled up, just a healthy color. My favorite is the Perricone MD one, which I just put 2/3 dots on my cheek and use real techniques stipling brush to blend it into my skin over my foundation. Another one that is more on the liquid side is the Becca cheek/lip tints. That one blends in beautifully as well with the same technique. Using the stipling brush I never have issues with foundation moving underneath while blending. Sometimes I use my fingers as well and that method works perfect, too. I always start with just a little dab and build up if necessary.
As I age, the hollows in my face have become more prominent and I find many powder blushes look super obvious and seem to sit perched on top of my skin and I really don’t care for the look. As well, youthful ‘flushed’ cheeks do not work on me, and anything other than super light-handed HAC is truly bloody scary. In the last couple of years alone, I have changed so many preferences, many products, and even the way I apply products due to these ‘overnight’ hormonal changes. … it’s rather like dealing with a whole new structure. Anyhow, yes, love liquid blush and cream blushes for the very reason others dislike them; their subtleness and sheerness. Right now I find myself using GA fluids as my go-to blusher (#6, #8, #9, #11, #12 are favs and I mad scientist mix new concoctions all the time ) I also find they work really well as an underlayer so you can actually put a hint of blush powder on top and yet still get that lit from within cheek from the liquid layer below. I do not find they interfere with my foundation layer nor get yucky if I apply powders on top, but I’m limited in my experience to these. MAC short duo fiber brush #130 is my weapon of choice for application.
I never tried the Benefit tints coz I gathered that a lot of people found it difficult to control and the quick staining.
The only Liquid Blush I own is Giorgio Armani Fluid Sheer #6 and I love it. It gives such a beautiful healthy glow to the cheeks. Application is even more fool proof when i applying my beauty blender. The only issue i have is that the pump dispenses way more product than you could use up in one application.
I can only use them on a bare face, but I dig Benetint for those days. Once the foundation is on, liquid blush just seems to dissolve it so I opt for powders or creams with a less gooey consistency. I do notice little pink droplets on my counter from pulling out the brush, so they require a bit of care in that regard if they’re more watery.
