Sneak Peek: Tarte Showstopper Palette Photos & Swatches
Tarte Showstopper Clay Palette
Here’s a quick look at the new, limited edition Tarte Showstopper Clay Palette ($38.00 for 0.73 oz.) that I’m working on testing soon! There are two distinct promo images that have been floating around, so I thought some real life photos might help — it’s nowhere near as warm-toned as Sephora’s image makes it out to be, but it’s also not as light and washed out as Ulta’s image shows (this one is closer to reality, though).

Love Fane and Rose to the Top, hopefully there’s close enough dupes, as i feel like the whole palette is dupable anyways. :/
‘Tis the problem with neutrals – while I love me some neutrals, you can max out quickly!
Much as I love these palettes from Tarte, that blush is too warm and orange for me. I do love the shadows, especially Steel the Scene and Rose to the Top but I’ll wait to check your dupes. I’ve already got the bronzer and highligher in other palettes….it’s becoming a bit like Laguna and Orgasm in Nars sets….ENOUGH already. They’re 2 great products but they’re in practically EVERY palette Tarte releases.
The blush is surprisingly orange and warm-toned for a palette with more neutral/slightly cool-toned eyeshadows.
Tarte makes great cheek and lip products, but the world’s most boring eyeshadows.
I associate Tarte as a mostly neutral-driven brand – nothing really out of the ordinary, which isn’t a bad thing, but they can be repetitive (much like Bobbi Brown).
The “philosophy” of the brand is to look “natural”, and to enhance ones own features, so in that regard, tarte has definitely succeeded!
Yeah, I definitely get that vibe from Tarte!
Got this yesterday and I love it. The blush pigmentation is great and I am a fan of Tarte’s shadow formula. After being disappointed with the rainforest after dark palette I’m so pleased to find this palette .
That’s awesome, Colleen! So glad you’re digging yours.
This is going straight to the top of my wish list!
Yay!
I’ve never felt compelled to buy these palettes, but dang that packaging is fine.
Glad ya liked it!
The blush and bronzer runs kind of warm for me, but this looks like a great on-the-go palette, or something to grab in the morning for a quick, complete look. All of the swatches look like they are good quality and price is reasonable.
It does seem like it could be a good grab and go option!
Pretty, especially the blush. I love the reptile skin design on the front. Not unique enough, though, for me to buy.
Totally understand!
Ugh I’m such a sucker for beautiful, hefty packaging! Beautiful.
Aww! 🙂
This would be nice for travel maybe and the price is fair. But, it just doesn’t spark my interest. I guess it may be nice for someone who was just starting out with makeup or only wore neutrals. The shades are nice. I just know I have dupes for it.
You are covered, Nicole!
So many brands, same old neutrals… couldn’t they spice things up a bit? As pretty as the colours themselves are, I feel like I have most of them. I like the look of the blush and bronzer though.
They must sell well!
Thanks so much for posting this. I hate when promotional images are inaccurate.
I might have to get this just for the blush. There’s nothing too exciting in the rest of the products, but it does look like a really useful all-in-one palette.
No problem, Lisa!
I’m debating whether to pick this up or not. On one hand, it had neutrals and a great looking blush (love me some orange!) but on the other hand one CAN have too many neutrals…right?
lol! I always feel like it depends on what you wear and wear often, you know? If you never wear neutrals, then you can definitely have too many, I think, but if you regularly go through yours, then maybe not.
Another thing that intrigued me when it was announced but I’m kind fo meh on having seen just the swatches. One of the big draws for me was the blush, but it’s way too warm for me. I like the neutrals, but I’m trying to deal with my weird need to automatically buy every neutral palette I come across.
It is super warm-toned for sure!
I was almost sold…until I saw that blush color 🙁
It was very warm-toned!
Cute packaging, and I *love* steel the scene but I think it’s a pass. Thanks, as always, Christine!
No prob, Jilly! xo
This palette looks gorgeous ! I liked the Rainforest After Dark Palette but just didnt really feel a desire to buy it, however, this one got me. I think a neutral eye with a pop of coral/orange on the cheek would be really pretty on medium-deep skin tones. Will be getting this asap 🙂
Woohoo!
Hopefully this will work for my olive skin tone. I know the Rainforest After Dark palette had a bronzer and blush that didn’t really flatter me, so I hope this one will!
Fingers crossed for you, Emily!
I love Tarte and I was not going to miss this palette. Mine arrives Monday and I can’t wait!
Let us know how you like it, Claudia!
Ooo, NEED! That blush reminds my of my hg blush, Illamasqua Lover which I am running low on!
Yayyy!
Gorgeous neutrals! I know everyone is saying these are colors that have been seen before, but as someone who actually doesn’t own many neutrals (I’ve been sporting colors and sparkles since middle school) I’m thinking this would be a unique palette to add to my makeup collection. Just have to muster up the courage to drop $38 dollars on something!
I’m also very pale and cool toned, but I’d like to experiment with some warm blushes just to see how it looks. It might not “flow” very well with my natural tones, but maybe if I’m feeling funky a pop of orange would do the trick. 😉
There’s always a reason something releases! And there are people discovering brands (and makeup) all the time, so that’s what is nice – you can buy what you want, or not buy it, and someone else can do the same! 😀
Wow, love this. I haven’t bought a palette in literally 3 years, but I think I’ll get this because they all look like great colours and right up my alley. I guess my concern is that with everything too close together it might be hard to dip a fluffy brush in the bronzer, a fan brush in highlighter etc but it this is under or around $50 Canadian I will probably pick it up. Thanks for these photos!!!
Happy to share, Kelly! 🙂
Another neutral palette on the market – hmmmm
Who woulda thunk it! 😉
I WANT it!
Yay!
This palette is perfect fir travelling it has everything a girl needs
I could see that!
It’s so pretty and also perfect for travelling!
It could be nice for travel!
This is beautiful, and my first instinct was to order it immediately! However, I have so many similar shades (and just sooo much makeup in general). I think the blush is my favorite part of it, but I have Tipsy, Achiote, Blissful, Captivating, and some LE orangey Tarte blushes (as well as a couple drugstore orangey blushes)… Surely I don’t NEED this for the blush! lol That’s what I’m going to tell myself anyway, but I’ll be looking to see which blushes you say are similar! 🙂
I look forward to seeing if you stay strong on this one, Kaitlyn! 🙂
Looks gorgeous!!
It looks promising!
I might just make this my first purchase from Tarte! It looks perfect for travel having a blush, bronzer, highlighter and 6 neutral shadows!!!! They seem really good as well, I can’t wait to read your full review 😀
Glad you like it so far! 😀
I would love to be able to buy one of these disc palettes but it always has the same old bronzer that doesn’t work with my skin tone. And I know that tarte is all about natural beauty but not all limited edition palettes have to be the same boring colors. I love all of tarte blushes, i just wish they would add pops of color to the eyeshadows not crazy colors but with the season trends… pass again, but I wish I didn’t have too…
It’d be cool if you could pop in your own blush!
That is my first reaction when I saw the real life images. I was like I swear, (especially) the blush was very warm-toned but I realized it was a stock photo from Sephora. Thanks for mentioning that!
No problem! 🙂
Rose to the top is beautiful but is it just me that showstopper copper shade isn’t very coppery
It’s definitely not screaming COPPERRRR!
I like the shadow shades but I think the whole vibe is too warm for me.
I can definitely see that!
Wow, this palette looks amazing! Perfect for everyday use and traveling, has everything I need really 😛
Yay!
Can anyone recommend a dupe for that blush? I swatched this in store and fell in love with the blush but was unimpressed with the eyeshadows. I don’t really want to buy the palette just for the blush.
