All Warmed Up: Urban Decay Alice in Wonderland + Bobbi Brown Cabana Corals Look
All Warmed Up: Urban Decay Alice in Wonderland + Bobbi Brown Cabana Corals Look
Brrr, it was FREEZING (!) today here in California. Of course, freezing here is 55 degrees, but I swear, it felt way colder! I was happy with how this looked turned out; I hadn’t initially planned on putting Wonderland in the crease, but it looked so much better when I did–I was so tentative applying it at first! I was like, “Oh man, I’m going to wreck this look by doing this…” But it worked out. So, don’t be afraid to try is the lesson learned there!
Oh! And I’m happy to say that I found my perfect shade in Bobbi Brown’s Extra Tinted Moisturizing Balm — it’s light-to-medium. Medium was a little dark and looked a bit yellow-ish on my skin tone, but the next lighter shade blended perfectly.
You will need the following…
- Eyes: Urban Decay Eden Primer Potion (matte yellow base), Urban Decay Muchness (X) Eyeshadow (melon), Urban Decay Oraculum (Half Baked) Eyeshadow (copper), Urban Decay Queen (Last Call) Eyeshadow (reddish burgundy), Urban Decay Underland (Flash) Eyeshadow (violet), MAC Femme-fi Eyeshadow (neutral highlighter), Urban Decay Lucky 24/7 Liner (copper), Smashbox Liquid Liner Pen (black), MAC Plushlash Mascara (black)
- Face: Bobbi Brown Extra Tinted Moisturizing Balm (Light-to-Medium Tint)
- Cheeks: Bobbi Brown Nectar Shimmerbrick (coral bronze)
- Lips: Bobbi Brown Coral Reef Lipstick (soft coral-orange), Bobbi Brown Coral Sand Lip Gloss (soft bronze)
- Brushes: 226 (fluffy crease brush), 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 116 (dense blush brush)
- Substitutes: For MAC substitutes, try Melon Pigment (Muchness), Amber Lights (Oraculum), Cranberry (Queen), Stars ‘n Rockets (Underland); Femme-fi = Shroom
For eyes, start by applying Eden Primer Potion as your eyeshadow base all over the lid with the 249. Using the 239, apply Muchness eyeshadow on the inner third of the eyelid. Next, apply Oraculum eyeshadow on the middle third of the eyelid and lightly blend with the inner corner. Darken the outer third of the lid with Queen eyeshadow with the 239, gently brushing it into the lower crease. Lightly blend Queen eyeshadow, with the 239, on the outer corner and lid. Next, define the crease by applying Underland eyeshadow with the 226. To finish the eyeshadow look, sweep Femme-fi eyeshadow as a highlighter on the brow bone. Bring everything together by applying Penny eyeliner on the lower lash line. Finish by applying Liquid Pen Liner on upper lash line and then sweeping lashes with Plushlash mascara.
For cheeks, apply Nectar shimmerbrick to the apples of the cheeks and sweep upwards towards the temple with the 116.
For lips, apply Coral Reef lipstick first, and then layer Coral Sand lipgloss for a complementing lip.
I love these looks you’re doing with Alice in Wonderland. I ordered my palette but afterwards I realized that I have no idea what to do with it. Having these looks definitely gives me ideas to try out.
Thanks!
I’m happy that they’ll help you when you get yours, Sheila 🙂
Thank you!
So pretty!!
Thank you, Shah’ada 🙂
I love this color combination! I’d originally skipped over this palette when I saw the swatches thinking, oh I have a dupe of that, or this, or those. But ummmmm! Now I’d like to rethink and pick it up! I LOVE IT!!!
BEAUTIFUL!
Thanks a lot, Alisha Endre! 🙂
Pretty<3
Thanks, Annie!
wow that lip combination is gorgeous!
Thank you, Kiran!
Wow, this is definitely one of my favourite looks ever! I love Muchness (X) it’s such a pretty shade! I’m so excited about this palette, can’t wait for March now!
Oh and if you think 55 is freezing, you should try 40 which is what we have in the UK right now! 🙂
Thanks, Anita! 🙂 Hope you get your hands on the palette come March!
OMG, 40, lol. So cold!
Yay i just got this palette and you’ve helped me so much with color combinations! Btw here in New York it was 16 degrees today, so i wouldn’t worry about 55 degrees haha!
Yayy!!
OMG, brrrrrr!
so pretty! I was thinking of doing something like this today.
also.. “Next, define the crease by applying Wonderland eyeshadow with the 226.”
..Don’t you mean Underland? both in the same palette, too.
Thanks, Neela! yep, that’s what I meant — fixed it!
So gorgeous! I love the warmth of this look and your cheeks look amazing
Thank you, Connie!
LOVE this!! Is the Nectar Shimmerbrick similar to NARS Orgasm?
Thanks, Bea! It’s much more coral… Orgasm is kind of light, not quite so coral, IMO!
Cristine this is sooo pretty. Makes me want the palette ;x
Thank you, Angie! How have you been?
Gorgeous! Am lusting after the UD set when it comes out in the UK and also the BB nectar shimmer brick – is this a good highlighter? did you do a review on the BB Cabana Collection?
xoxo
Thank you, Amna! It’s a nice highlighter, though it packs quite a bit of color, too, so I find it more of a blush-and-highlighter kind of product. I’ll be doing a few reviews on some of the products from it!
you totally look lovely with warm lips 🙂
Thanks, Namie!
This is absolutely beautiful! I love how you use the gold/bronze liners on the bottom. I really want to try this. I first saw the peach/purple combo on one of Michelle Phan’s videos. It reminds me of how gorgeous it can be!
Thank you, Nancy! I love me some gold liner 😉
Beautiful! Underland/Flash adds some kick to it!
Thanks, Roxanne! I know — I was so happy with the way it turned out!
I LOVE this look on you. Also love the Bobbi Brown tinted moisturizer on you. The Khiels is lovely, but this looks beautiful on you! It’s a bummer you don’t love it. It’s gorgeous.
Thank you!! 🙂
There’s a time & place for it, but sometimes it’s just too dewy for me!
stunning girl!
Thank you, LRW!
Alia, first of, I don’t even know if there is a color that doesn’t look great on you. I love the pairing of these colors.
I have always wondered about the extra tint balm, thank you for the great reviews on these products.
Thank you so much, JoElla! 🙂 Happy to help!

So glad you are enjoying Dallas!
That Eyeliner looks AMAZING on you! 😀
Thanks, Annie! Glad ya liked the liner!
OOOH, i love this look, Christine! the colours go so beautifully together.
by the way, may I say how pleased I am that you’ve been posting more looks more frequently?
lovely work — keep it up! 🙂
Thanks so much, Jousy! 🙂
wow that is a pretty look but i will not be purchasing the Alice and Wonderland kit. Urban Decay has a lot of nice colors but damn they are like a glitter bomb.
Yeah, UD does enjoy themselves some glitter!
Thanks!
OMG!!!! I totally absolutely loving this look on you Christine…. You look gorgeous with this look. I will be getting the shimmer brick for sure.. Love loves this look on you..
Thank you so much, Liz!! So glad you enjoyed this look 🙂
that’s pretty rad, not gonna lie. 🙂
Thanks, Bettina!
The nectar shimmerbrick looks gorgeous! I really like the bronze and the purple together too.
Thanks, Amy!
Gorgeous look! Underland works surprisingly well there! I probably never would have paired a purple with peaches/copper but wow, it’s really pretty! The lip combo is just fabulous too.
BB Nectar shimmerbrick looks positively lovely on you here, but I think I can safely pass on it as it’s a tad too shimmery for my taste (esp as I am on the oily side). Thank you so much for doing looks with so many of the products that you review and swatch – it really helps so much to see how they look on a real face! =)
Thanks a lot, Catherine! 🙂 Yeah, I wasn’t loving it how it was coming along, so I threw Flash in there on a whim!
Ooh, for once I own all the eyeshadows (well, except Femme-Fi, but I have Shroom). I might rock this look tomorrow 🙂 Making me wonder why I ordered the Alice In Wonderland palette though as I have ALL the colours in it already except for one. I guess I’m a sucker for pretty packaging.
YAY! I hope you’ll try it!
Thanks, Laura!
This is a really beautiful look. 🙂 I’m trying not to like the shimmer brick compact though, since I shouldn’t really be buying any more makeup. Lol.
Thank you, Sarah M! LOL, awww.
gorgeous!!!
Christine you look so pretty!!
Thanks, Arianna!
hey christine,
the makeup looks awesome especially the eyeshadows!! i think its shows more in the last picture of youre whole face, but looking down 🙂
Thank you so much, Natalia! 🙂
I love this look! I wish I could do my makeup as good as yours!!!!!
Thank you, Kymberlee! Just keep practicing!
Thanks for the look im going to order the palette tommorow,so im excited to try this one out 😀
No problem, Jess! Hope you give it a try!
That’s a really pretty look, as always! I especially like the liner on the lower lid.
And I am ever so jealous of your mid-fifties winter weather. I really should move south.
Thank you, Trisha! 🙂
I don’t even know how to stay warm in the 50s, LOL. I’m like “OMG not leaving the house!”
Christine, this has got to be one of your best looks. Love it!
Thank you so much, Grace!
This is really pretty Christine!!
Thank you, Tami!
Purple and copper are not always easy to put together, but you certainly pulled it off well. And the lips are absolutely spectacular! Yes, we are both die-hard coral lip girls 🙂
Thanks so much 😉
Gotta love the coral!
This look is gorgeous on you!
Is Bobbi Brown Nectar similar at all to Benefit Sugarbomb?
Thanks a lot, Bits! Nah, it’s much more pigmented, lots more shimmer, and pinker.
Those colours are very pretty on you…
Thanks, Dina!
I think I’m in Love with the shimmerbrick, do you think it will show up on a NC40? Is it too shinny??
I think it will! It’s definitely shimmery, but I don’t think it’s too much.
This look is love!!!
Ha, just realized there’s another Liz that commented above, lol
Thanks, Liz!
Gorgeous! I love corals!
Thank you, Erin!
What a beautiful look! I love to see bright colors in use, and they look just perfect. Not overwhelming or overly dramatic at all. I’m inspired…
Thank you so much, Dini!
I WISH it was 55 here!!! (Toronto)..it’s a lovely 12 degrees here right now. Last week was so nice @ 35!!!! I miss summer. I’m inspired by this look, great choice for the bitter cold to warm us up with!!!
Brrrrr! That’s so, so cold!
Great color combo… very unique!
I forgot to ask, do have a suggested mac dupe for the nectar shimmerbrick?
No great dupe, but it’s similar to maybe Springsheen with a little Margin with it.
Thanks, Marta!
Does anyone know if the copper liner by Urban Decay called PENNY is a limited edition? I can’t find it anywhere!
It’s Lucky — sorry about the mix-up!
Love it! You look soooooo gorgeous in these colours! And you have the most beautiful eyebrows… Sigh. Being a born blonde, I have not been very blessed in that department. 🙂
Aww, thank you so much, Hilana! It took me YEARS before I came upon the right shape for my brows, you will find a way to make ’em work 🙂
this is my fave violet look you’ve done!!! you look amazing here!!!
Oh, wow! Thank you so much, Luisafer!
This look is gorgeous! I went straight to Sephora’s site to look for the copper eyeliner and couldn’t find it. 🙁
It’s Lucky 🙁 Sorry about that!
I recreated this look with colors I do have that were kind of similar and it looks awesome..I do kinda want the alice in wonderland colors though all the same. While we’re on the subject of cold as I thought I read somewhere above….my relatives in Boston said it was 6 degress recently….ick!
Aww, yay!! I’m so glad you gave it a try.
BRRRRR, 6 degrees, that’s insanity!
just came back to this look to check out the pen liner from the jump in your smashbox review…this was a really nice look! i like the colour of the cheeks a lot, although i think as someone else mentioned, it’s probably too shimmery for me. i think my skintone sort of intensifies the look of shimmery/frosty makeup, so i try to limit it to the eyes…
anyway, the eyes are also really pretty. i have some of the mac dupes, but i will have to check out the ud copper liner!
do you find you fare any better with pen liners on the upper lash line? or did you have to remove it also soon after taking the pics?
Thanks, aradhana! 🙂
Nah, they all irritate it the same. My eyes swelled up a bit after this look, because I ended up wearing it for a few hours :/
im so in love with this look
Thanks, Adriana!
wow, 55? i wish! lol =)
thats warm for new hampshire.
beautiful look by the way.
I did a variation of the eyes this morning and it’s beautiful. My fav things about your looks is their adaptability . . . you put colors together I would never think to pair. I really appreciate it when you put looks up!!!
Yay!! So happy to hear you tried it, Shah’ada!
That Lip Combo is an A + for you
Thanks, Freya!
Oh, my ! I can’t say how much I love this look of you. SO SO SO AMAZING !!
I don’t know where to give the compliment first… maybe your eyeshadow shades that blended well and look glamorous! (I really like that melon-copper shade on the middle of your lid) and how you lining your upper liner is so cool (you should do it more frequently :P)
And that lipcombo is nice! and how your face glow aura-y! Oh! This is my favorite look recently and I have to do it myself immediately!
Thank you, Christine 😀 you’re always the best!
Thanks so much, Polly!
omg the full face photo looks really nice with the make up and the black top youre wearing you look glowy like a celebrity wearing a black dress going to get an award hahah (;
Thanks, Pearlyn!
great look but fyi oraculum is baked not half-baked
🙂
Thanks!
So pretty! Eyeliner on the upper lashline really pulls the look together
Thank you, Lauren!
I really really love this look!!! I have to try this for sure! Thanks for taking the time to post these spring looks Christine. xoxo
Thanks, Christine!
omg you lined your top lashes…. you gotta figure out what makes it so irriatated because you for sure look so much better with the top lash line lined…. beautiful. what a difference
I guess I will just have to look ugly without it! Sorry I can’t wear it!
i wasn’t saying you were ugly i just said it looked good with it…. i think your beautiful
Okay, thanks for clarifying – it just sounded like without it, it was pretty terrible.
You look Beautiful!
I love everything about this look!!!
Thank you, Adriana!
i love this look on you christine. it really brings out your beauty :]
Thanks, Rygurl!
You look gorgeous with this look! I’ll try it today, lets see if I wll look, too!
Thanks, Romina!
LOVE this look! is there a dupe out there for muchness (x)? I have kitten by stila which is lighter but might work. not sure what else. any suggestions?
MAC Melon pigment is also similar, as is Benefit Nice Melons!
thanks for those suggestions christine. what is the “lower crease”? I want to get that right for when I try this look.
It’s just the bit below the crease – like if you were to stretch out your eye, you have the actual crease, and the lower area is just blending/applying color in the crease but on the lower part of it and concentrating the color there.
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO beautiful! I love liner on you. Your eyes look huge, like a doll! 🙂
Thanks, Christina!
You look so ballerina-pretty!
Thanks, Kitt!
