We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! New possibilities! There’s always that tiny flicker of hope you get when you see a new product, “Maybe this is my miracle ________!!” We never know what innovations or breakthroughs are around the corner…

It’s all about the colors with me. Claude Monet the French painter once said “Color is my daylong joy, obsession and torment”. I feel the same way!

This… 100%. Even when I think I am done buying lip products, that I couldn’t possibly find anything else and feel I should be happy and content with what I have… all it takes is a flash of holy grail possibility and it’s here-take-my-money time.

Packaging, texture, scent, performance, & innovation.

I feel I own enough makeup that there isn’t a great possibility of new unique color launches that I don’t already have something similar to. But finish, texture, function, and overall performance of products can always be improved upon, which is very exciting. 😀

Now that I’ve had the chance to try out a greater variety of products I’d say texture/feel and application are what motivate me to buy something. Stiff feeling products a re a huge turn-off for me. It’s unfortunate that M.A.C.’s eyeshadows are so stiff that it feel like running your finger against asphalt. The cool toned Simpson palette was very attractive initially but now that I’ve had time to play with it I find it to be very LQ. A B rating is extremely generous for it, D is probably closer to what it deserves. I’m very fee up with mid to high end brands in general. I just gave you $$$ for a fucking eyeshadow yet you still keep pumping out shiny yet inferior products? I feel like the money’s going towards duping potential costumers rather than reformulation. And shame on me for supporting businesses I only have contempt for. There’s no fool like an old fool, as they say.

New concepts. I think I’ve seen it all as far as colors go. You can only get excited about so many neutral eyeshadow palettes, pink blushes, and contour kits. I like seeing innovative things!

I love clothing and fashion shows. I actually went to college for Fashion Merchandising. For several years, I was a Visual Merchsndiser responsible for changing displays, mannequins and windows to represent the latest trends and fashions. What I like about new beauty products, are they follow the color trend (Pantone Color of the Year) and with each lipstick I open, palette I puchase, I cannot wait to see the possibilities! Also, how you can multi use some things… Lipstick works as creme blush… wet shadow makes a deep, delish color. Plus, sites like ️Temptalia and Pinterest always give me the BEST ideas!!

Everything! The thrill of the hunt, packaging, scent (or lack of), texture, colour, the challenge of finding ways to use it and incorporate it into my “arsenal”. Sometimes inexpensive cosmetics are more fun to challenge myself to find interesting ways to use them, and I do love finding a great bargain item that winds up not only being a staple but a multipurpose item as well.

Yes, unfortunately I have been feeling the same… to make up for that I’ve been SUPER great into taking care of my skin so people can’t believe I only have mascara on when they see me. I really want to prevent lines, etc. and off course there are a miliion products that are definitely overpriced no matter who they come from but just try to blot oil throughout the day, just even toilet paper works for that- they reick is into having to need all these products but according to my Dermatologist the BEST things is to ALWAYS wear SPF, stay hydrated (I especially drink white Chinese teas or green Japanese teas, which he told me to keep doing everyday) and get enough sleep (even though managing sleep for me is literally a nightmare) and to lastly just find a a good moisturiser, he told me. Also, but this is because I have oily combination skin, he recommended to use a retin product. Stay smiling and maybe dig into your stash and you’ll find some really good things! 🙂

EVERYTHING, from the newness to the possibility that “this” might just be the product that ends my search for the perfect “_______” (fill in that blank – concealer, lipstick, eyeshadow – you get the idea). I doubt that this will ever happen simply because I love new beauty products and even if I were to find the “ultimate”, I don’t think that would blunt my enjoyment of learning about and possibly trying the “next new thing”.

that magical moment you see that new amazing thing with the pretty colors & fall in love 🙂 they say women fall in love 6-8 times a day – I totally believe that! LOL

I can easily say the new co;ors and textures or even packaging, but for some reason I really like when they get all like “artistic” on the actual product- like imprinting their regular or new brand limited for just that season’s type of art work. It seems really silly, ESPECIALLY when it makes me want to not use and “ruin” the product, but an example is the “CD” imprinted on the new Dior lip balms. I liked how NARS did some imprinting I think this past Autumn/Dall Season on at least 1 cheek palette. I love the “YSL” on their lipsticks. I was personally upset with Urban Decay when they changed the lipstick bullet shape and no longer added that final “UD” imprint touch on the lipsticks. High End brands should be worth it to all the senses, in my opinion. It reminds me of the old great silversmiths’s hallmarks- their permanant imprint into their silver work of art, or basically a sort of signature on these cosmetic items that just add to the nice feeling (especially when they are new and not yet faded) of pulling it out of your bag to use and feel glamourous 🙂

All of the above, as others have so eloquently started. New colors, unique packaging & innovative formulas initially get my attention, and then I focus on texture, scent and performance. Online reviews often help me to decide whether I should try something new, but nothing beats a good swatch/sample fest at my favorite beauty spots!
