lol, I was going to say – Mellan’s that fed up with winter? Hahaha!! I know that’s how I feel about now. I live about a hour east of Toronto and it is SO cold and windy. Only about 10 inches of snow but it’s been -10 C to -20 C with windchill. (that works out to 14 F to -4F)

Haul: I hit on some clearance at Target! Revlon Superlustrous in Rum Raisin for $1.49, Maybelline Fit me blush in Light nude for 2.99 (it’s a bit light for me but it works as a great warm me up all over during these frigid Canadian winters) and Maybelline Colour elixir gloss in Glistening Amber for 2.99. I am going back for more of those, the whole line was on clearance!
Weekend plans: Catching up on all my housework and sewing that was neglected over the holidays! And I’m craving a rich chocolate cake or apple pie so that may be my baking project.
Favourite pie: my mom’s apple!! Or her blueberry 🙂

Right now its about -11 here in Toronto
It’s been surprisingly cold here, too. Yesterday, it was 1F/-17C for most of the day (and that’s without the wind chill factor, too), warming up to about 8F/-13C later on. It was actually warmer at *night* when the cold front shifted and got us back in the teens. Needless to say, I took advantage of my days off and have been hiding inside the house for the past two days.
I have a feeling Mellan gets treated to new toys on a very regular basis 🙂 His toy stash must be as big as your lipstick stash, Christine!
Haul: My Dermalogica order finally came in
Weekend plans: Relaxing with my man! Probably play lots of WoW.

LOL! He gets them often, but I try to donate ones he doesn’t stay interested in!
Haul: MUFE Lift Concealer, MUFE Desire Me Cheek Set, and The X System. I also just purchased the MUFE Give it to Me Set and it is fantastic. The value is unbelievable and the packaging is perfect! It is honestly one of the best sets I have ever purchased.
Weekend plans: Housework and errands.
Favorite kind of pie?: Pumpkin pie.

Weekend Plans: I’ve got to work for a bit, but I’m making it a point to go to the gym for a while and go somewhere pretty to take pictures for my blog 🙂

Thanks, Christine! I had to phone in my order to Bergdorf Goodman in NYC, to the same guy that sold me my first TF lipstick! Long story short, he lost my info and I had to call him back after new years to ask if everything was ok. He was very polite though, and shipped them quick after that!

Hey Christine, happy friday! I don’t know when UD D/C their baked bronzers but do you know if they plan on replacing it with something else? They made the only bronzer I’ve ever liked/used. I tried to find a dupe for Gilded using your system but doesn’t seem like many are really close. Any ideas?

I think UD replaced their bronzers with the Naked Cheek palettes.

Haul: Smashbox Contour Sticks, Dr. Jart BB cream duo, the new L’Oreal Infallible matte foundation, the new Maybelline concealer and mascara and green Leather Color Tattoo, and Real Techniques concealer brush.
Weekend plans: Not sure! Relaxing mostly, doing stuff around the house.
Favorite kind of pie?: I’m part Pennsylvania Dutch (they love their pie!), but I’m actually not a huge fan of pie. I do like pumpkin, sweet potato, and chocolate.
How is the new L’Oreal foundation?
It’s pretty nice! The color I got was a bit too light, so I’m trying again with the next one up. It seemed to last 6+ hours, and that was even through a nap! I didn’t notice any “glow” until that evening (my skin is pretty oily – I usually start to get shiny after lunch). I was impressed. And it felt light. The texture out of the tube is more liquid than you’d think. I’m wondering if I need to squeeze it a bit to mix it up first. But because it’s pretty matte, you definitely need to go in and add blush or contour. Do you think you’ll try it?
Haul: I don’t think I bought makeup recently, but I did buy several jewelry pieces. I have been on a low-buy, but I couldn’t pass up some holiday sales on Etsy. I got 5 necklaces, 1 pair of earrings and one hairpin from Beqi Clothing, a pair of silver dagger earrings from Lucky Me Jewelry, a gold and multi-colored crystal tree pendant necklace from River of Treasures, a pair of silver owl dangle earrings with black tassels from xEsFunThings, a pair of sapphire drop earrings (very simple and pretty) from Wild Juniper, a vintage rhinestone gold tone necklace from Trendy.Bindi. I also got one bar of oatmeal & goat milk soap from Arte Vivo. All shops are on Etsy.
Weekend plans: I’m housesitting for a friend, so on Saturday I need to collect the keys from the person who is subletting it now, clean up and change the sheets.

Haul: Koh Gen Do Cleansing Spa Water
Weekend plans: Catalog all of the nail polish I got for Christmas. They’re all sitting pretty on the coffee table and I’m sure it’s driving my husband bonkers looking at all of it. Oh and an at-home mani-pedi. All of this polish needs to be tried out, right?
Favorite kind of pie?: Pumpkin pie, when it’s in season. Otherwise I switch between apple pie and sweet potato pie.
What does your cataloging process entail? Do you keep a spreadsheet?
Yes, I do keep a spreadsheet! There’s a Google spreadsheet I work on whenever I buy/sell/trade any polishes and reference when I think of purchasing. (The wishlist section needs some cleaning up.) Then I do a dot swatch on a tiny piece of tape. I give it a few minutes to dry before I put the dot on top of the brush/stopper. My storage bin is opaque with top view only. It also takes the guesswork out of ‘does this color go well with this one?’
Haul: NARS Audacious in Olivia, and my friend gave me Naked Basics 2 for Christmas. Since I trash talked the palette when it first came out, watch it become one of the most used items in my collection.
Weekend Plans: Working and preparing for school!
Favorite pie: Hmmm, not a huge pie person, but I guess raspberry or apple.

I wore it yesterday, actually. The mattes do hold up very well over NARS Smudgeproof, which is impressive because of how easily they fade on me. The formula is a tad powdery, but nothing too bad. The only down that is that I can definitely see most of the palette being crease or liner shades – the first three shades are the only ones light enough to be a lid color on me, and even the taupe is pushing it. It does pull much cooler on my skin tone, which is a relief. I see it getting a fair bit of use, at least as a partner to more shimmery shades.
Veronica, I absolute LOVE the Naked2Basics palette. It’s so practical and all the shades just seem to work together so beautifully. Hope you end up liking it as much as I do.

Haul: I got the Laura Mercier Souffle Body Creme Collection I’ve been wanting forever on sale (score!), and two Sephora Formula X Celestials Polishes, along with the bday gift of the NARS Lip pencils.
Weekend plans: Relaxing, Laundry
Favorite kind of pie?: Hmmmm….I actually don’t particularly like pie, but if I had to choose, pumpkin?
Which scent did you get? Or is that set with multiple scents? And if it’s the latter… which scent are you liking most?
It’s the set with six different body soufflés. I’m loving creme de pistache, I knew I would, and tarte au citron. The other four are ok, I have them in the hand creme already because I mistakenly bought that in November thinking it had creme de pistache. If I were to choose one of the warmer scents, it’d be creme brûlée. I’m just glad it’s finally mine, haha! 😉
Haul: John Frieda Go Blonder Shampoo & Conditioner and I ordered the Tartelette Palette, Maybelline Fit Me Matte & Poroless Powder and Foudation and Touch of Spicy, Lust for Blush Lipsticks..
Weekend plans: Watch NFL games and cheer for New England Patriots. Altough I´m brazilian, I´m american football fanatic.
Favorite kind of pie?: Chocolate Mousse with nuts.

Haul: Ordered the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder Palette. I’m loving the Ambient Blush Palette so much that I decided to spring for the Powder Palette. Also ordered Bite Beauty Retsina/Musk lipstick duo (first Bite purchase, so excited!) and the Drybar Detox Dry Shampoo.
Weekend Plans: Relax! It’s freezing and snowy in Connecticut, so I want to venture outside as little as possible.
Favorite Pie: Pecan! or Strawberry Rhubarb, or Dutch Apple, or… Yeah, just all pies really!
Haul: Nothing other than groceries.
Weekend Plans: Not a whole lot. It’s going to be a play it by ear kind of thing.
Favorite Pie: Any kind of berry or cherry. I’m ok with apple or pear. Mine used to be Lemon and Key Lime but it’s hard to find vegan versions.
Haul: Nada. Still on low-buy mode, and keeping busy with my Christmas loot.
Weekend plans: Pick up my son from visiting relatives out of town. Finish putting my makeup room back together.

Aww..cutie..Olaf is well loved at my house too! But if my dog got a hold of any of any of my little girl’s Olafs,there would be trouble! My daughter,Chloe was Olaf for Halloween. I ordered a super cute costume from Etsy..It is way better than the Disney store one and was about $40 cheaper! Good thing I am too addicted to beauty products to allow $ for another addiction. Etsy, would be a potential for me!
Haul: I wound up getting a lot of eye liners this week for some reason. I wanted to try some of the brightening ones that were in the post over the weekend. So, I ordered the TT one and Both the Sephora ones you mentioned Christine. I was in Walgreens and the Loreal Silkissme (spelling?) liners were buy one get one half. I picked up the highlight ,plum,the olive one,and teal. Wish I would I have got more! Those are really nice and cheap! I restocked some Inglot gel liners that were just too dry to work with. I also got Inglots Duraline and brush gaurds. I placed a Sephora order that includes my first ever YSL lipstick. I chose Rouge Volupte in Caress Pink (9). Very excited to try that out.Oh..My Nars dual intense palette arrived today! It’s been incredibly cold here all week. Even schools were closed a few days. So, I have been on the computer too much. My haul next week will be way too large!

Haul: Not much – just a Reversa eye cream with SPF 15 and 4% glycolic acid (and it’s totally non-irritating!). I think that’s all I got, but to be honest, I can’t remember!
Weekend plans: yoga, maybe the gym, trying to stay warm and putting together some lesson plans for ESL students I’m teaching for the next 10 days
Favourite pie: Rhubarb custard (I made this a few times many years ago – it was the most delicious pie! I need to make it again come rhubarb season), Dutch apple and French Citron pie.

Favorite pie (which I haven’t had in forever) is Lemon Supreme. Bottom half lemon cheesecake , top half lemon pie filling topped with whipped cream, Yum!!
