It really depends on taste. I’m an NC15 and I’d say Sombre looks alright, but I wouldn’t use the other two for contouring. I prefer a cooler contour, something taupe-y, a bit grey. But I saw pale ladies before rocking warm contour colors before 🙂 I’m still looking for the perfect shade for me… have a few names on my list to check when I can ^^

I am a NW13 and I agree – a cooler toned contour color is much better in my opinion! I wish they would make a cooler version of this… more so like Smashbox’s new contour palette, NYX taupe or MAC wedge… it looks great, just slightly too warm!

These look much better than the promo pics, LOL! They remind me of the Inglot powders, which may be a better option for some, particularly if they already have a highlighter they love. While I like the option of having different shades to mix when needed, or to add more variation to different parts of my face, I kind of wish this were done as duos or singles, with a lower pricepoint. I plan to biy this, but I don’t think I’ll use the middle contour shade very much, as I have more than enough bronzers that aren’t in heavy rotation… I skipped the IT Cosmetics & Anastasia palettes for that reason, but I like the highlighters in this one.

These photos and swatches are much more promising than the promo shot. It looks like it has cool and warm options, as well as light and dark.

Looking forward to the review.

So these kits seem to be all the rage, but I look at it, and don’t see the appeal for an individual? Like, I would love the first 2 shades, but the other four wouldn’t work for me…it looks like this would be good for a range of fair to light-medium skin tones, like for a makeup artist, but would 1 person realistically use all 6? Genuinely curious, as I am pretty much a contouring novice!

I don’t see the point in contouring palettes. There is no one that would be able to use every single one of those shades unless they also used them as eyeshadows. :/

I like how there’s a mix of skintones here, but out of the 6 shades, I would probably need only 2 of them. Too bad you can’t pick and choose which shades to buy.

Those look like great shades!

However, I fail to see how one individual would need three different toned contour powders? Do we really change skin tone that much during the year??

When MAC’s Taupe blush came out a few months ago, I thought I had found my perfect contouring colour. But, I’m finding that it’s a bit too dark for me in the winter time. I go from NW25 to NW20 from summer to winter (sometimes even NW15). I’ll admit, sometimes I use a heavy hand and I’m working on that, but I like the options that this palette has to offer! I’m hoping it could work for me all year round 🙂

Sombre is very pretty! But they look like they pull yellow? Is that what I am seeing? Sombre looks like it would be the only one that would work for. I will probably pass on this one.

Highlighters too dark for porcelain skin, and with the exception of the first contour shade, too warm for us super cool toned types. A pass for me. I could see this working well on light to medium skin tones, though. Shame it doesn’t have darker shades for deeper skin tones.

Does anyone know if there’s a palette out there suited for medium – deep or darker skin? These palettes always skew way too light for me, and I’m kinda lost in the contouring world. Would love to do more of it…

Anastasia Beverly Hiils allows you to customize a contour/highlight palette with just buying individual pans or 6 and get the free 9 or like a $1 or something case). You have to to to the ABH website. If you want the 6 pan…go under” pro”(you don’t have to be anything other than a regular breathing thing with $ for this, fyi). They even suggest shades for skintones. I bought the original which is the “light to med suggestions. It is my go to. I have matte highlight colors, typical highlight shades, matte contour with cool, grey u/t (fawn),and a warm tone bronze which I use to graduate the contour if i am making time for that. It’s quick and easy. They really are nice powders and very nice to blend and easy to work with I also own Kevyn Aucoin med and Becca cream contour. I reach for the ABH the most as it is easiest to work with. KA Is my go to for a night out and special occasions. It is contour only, very concentrated, small amount of procudct, pricey, but very nice. But, if I had to pick one ,I would get the ABH. I already purchased back up refills! Good luck!

I ordered the palette and brush and am looking forward to testing it out. I have a better feeling about this one than the Anastasia Beverly Hills contour palette. I feel like these shades will compliment my complexion more.

I like this better with swatches. I am interested in the review. The color range is too wide imo. The lightest two dark shades could work theoretically..Sombre as contour and shadowplay as a bronzer (which looks maybe too orangeish). The lighter colors..I like the matte highlight in there. But ,I think she should have followed suit of Anastasia and added shimmer highlight or made them smaller /cheaper, and made shades suited to specific ranges of skintones. I love the ABH palette. I picked up the original because I happened to be in Sephora the day it hit stores and the rep sold me on it. NOW,you can go under “pro” on their site and customize a palette or just order individual pans..it’s pretty well priced too. I think it is the best out there at this point as far as a custom HAC palette and I am a professed makeup, product junkie…:)

Hi! I am a nw15, (I have been tanning, so nw25ish now) and I love this palette. The colors are extremely versatile. I used the lightest shade color to contour today, but really could have used any of them for a more dramatic look. They are also very pigmented, so a little goes a long way- but if you wanted a deeper look, just use more powder.
I think this is great for all year long- I will honestly use all 6 colors in the palette.
