Burt’s Bees makes a wonderful Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream. I work outside a lot and during the winter it really helps keep my cuticles from getting stiff and painfully splitting. It’s just the bee’s knees ;-).

I haven’t tried many either but I’m very happy with Dior’s Huile Abricot. Great format and the product absorbs almost immediately to reveal healthy-looking nail beds.

Still on the hunt for the perfect cuticle oil that I won’t need to reapply, though…but I’m not sure if that is even possible!

I use homemade cuticle oil which includes, grape seed oil, olive oil, jojoba oil, vitamin a & e, along with tea tree oil, I found this concoction on Pinterest and it really made a difference. I also use Lush’s Lemony Flutter.

Last winter when ny cuticles became horribly dry and raggedy, my daughter turned me onto California Mango Cuticle Treatment Oil. I absolutely love it! I usually put it on after I do my weekly mani. It really helps heal and soften dry, rough, raggedy cuticles.

I tried Burt’s Bees and had high hopes but wasn’t thrilled (though I still do use it from time to time). The one I’ve always had best results with is Dior’s Creme Abricot. And while it’s a bit on the spendy side, a little jar of it lasts for ages.

I adore burt’s bees cuticle butter and Josie maran argan oil. They are both so hydrating and work wonders for giving your cuticles that boost they need!

Yes! I cannot live without Lemony Flutter…for cuticles, hands, nails, feet, elbows…have even used a smidgen on my lips when I’ve been stuck with nothing else. I always have a pot of this in my purse, and make sure I have a backup before I run out. I got it as a gift once and now I gift it to others and it is always appreciated.

I’ve tried O.P.I’s Avoplex and quite like it. The tube with the brush at the end makes for easy application. I learned the other day that just run of the mill olive oil is just as good as any nail oil that you can buy. Usually readily available in your pantry, you can save some dough! Apparently, you can just heat it up in a microwave safe bowl and give yourself a nice hot oil nail treatment.

Deborah Lippmann’s cuticle oil is the best product I’ve tried so far. Lemony Flutter stinks and doesn’t do much for me. Neither do any of those nail treatments in tubes with a brush applicator attached (OPI and others).

I know taste is subjective and there are lots of scents I don’t like that others do, but whenever I use Lemony Flutter I almost always get a “What IS that amazing smell, give it to me now!” I also always read about how people hate Angel perfume, but I always get compliments when I wear it. Maybe the people who hate it just don’t say anything, lol.

I haven’t tried many. My manicurist suggested Epoch Baobab Body Butter for my hands and cuticles, and it does help. It has baobab, shea butter, coconut oil and macadamia nut oil in it, among other things.

Qtica Intense Cuticle Repair Balm is my very favorite. I don’t like the feeling of oily fingers, but this is thick and a little tacky, but so moisturizing.

I use straight up virgin coconut oil. I work in healthcare and the anti-bacterial handsoap we use is so dry that my cuticles routinely crack and develop hangnails. I find that virgin coconut oil is cheap, absorbs relatively quickly, smells nice straight or with essential oils added, and provides long-lasting moisture. If I really want to “seal it in,” so to speak, I follow with Aquaphor. In fact, the coconut oil + Aquaphor combination along with antibactierial ointment healed a stubborn skin crack in my finger faster than anything else ever did.

I too worked in healthcare, specifi:ally surgery. My hand bled. Will try your suggestion even tho I’m retired now. The sensitivity remains . Thank you.

I’m a self-described “Mixtress”, so I use whatever oils tickle my fancy. In the winter I use heavier oils like avocado, macadamia or coconut. The rest of the year I use rosehip, jojoba, etc. Whatever oil I choose, I always add vitamin e – no special reason.

Marieke Avatar

I’ve never tried a cuticle oil from a nail care brand. This winter I started using Dr Bonners Magic Organic Body Balm for my cuticles. It’s great! Made with jojoba seed oil, avocado oil and some more magic stuff.

CND Solar Oil, no question. I’ve tried a LOT of cuticle care stuff as mine tend to be dry and ragged, and the Solar Oil is the only product that has actually helped.

I do like OPI’s Avoplex clicky pen one for on the go, though. Solar Oil is in a nail varnish type package (little glass bottle, lid with brush) so it isn’t particularly portable.

Vitamin E oil and olive oil both work for me. I pour a small puddle into my hand before bed and massage it into my nail beds – I use A LOT. Don’t be stingy. And then often I top it with a thick cream or ointment.

Barb Avatar

The best so far is butter London’s Handbag Holiday! Pineapple fragrance and lots moisture for the cuticles without being greasy. I leave it in the car and put it on during traffic.

I love Essie’s cuticle oil but, IMO, the best one I’ve ever tried is Mavala cuticle cream, terribly thick but the only which keeps my stiff, splitting cuticles in control. Anyway I’m still looking for s.thing less expensive…;)

Karen K Avatar

My cuticles are so dry that they laugh at Burt and his lemony bees. The only cuticle cream to make a difference for me is by Qtica. Works overnight. Magic! I like CND’s Solar Oil but all oils seem to do the same job. The cuticle cream is what makes the difference for me.

Aida Avatar

I swear by the Burt’s Bees cuticle cream. It smells delicious, I’ve been using it exclusively for a couple of years now, and my cuticles are in perfect condition all the time. I use it several times a day, every day.
