Milani Liquif’eye…I have them in almost every color. The black and teal are my faves! I’m still looking for a taupe or nude liner that doesn’t move.

Recently I’ve found the Anastasia BH Metallic Luster eyeliners (I have both Silver and Gold) surprisingly amazeballs! I never put much stock in a long-lasting or waterproof claims for eyeliners that I’m going to wear on my waterline as they just never set, but these babies are freaking awesome! They go on super easily without having to apply multiple layers, set really quick and last all day on me 🙂

Not rated as waterproof, but water resistant is the Physicians Formula Eye Booster™2-in-1 Lash Boosting Eyeliner + Serum in Ultra Bluck. It’s plastic base so it does last and can creatthe finest line ever. 😉

For gel pencils Too Faced PERFECT EYES EYELINER and the Lancome In Love pencils ware my favrites. Too bad Lancome In Love was only limited release.

There are two that have worked pretty well for me, considering that my eyes, especially the left one, are prone to watering from an autoimmune disease. So far Nyx Slide-On pencil liners and Sephora Contour eyeliner pencils really last quite well. Next, I may just try out one of MJB eyeliners, because that left side can still mess up a cat-eye’s outer edge when I use the two I mentioned.

I love Inglot’s gel liners for tightlining (by which I mean lining my upper lashline from underneath my lashes). It goes on smooth and easy and lasts all day, absolutely will not budge without makeup remover once set. I haven’t found a pencil that will stay on my lower waterline, most won’t even go on it to begin with, but it’s not a look I try for very often. I think the Make Up For Ever Artist Liner might work, I should try it.

IT Cosmetics gel liner is probably the best in my experience, although I don’t really need eyeliner to be waterproof (the only place it would matter is in hot yoga and I don’t wear makeup there at all). What I care about more than “waterproof-ness” is “smudgeproof-ness” – some non-waterproof liners don’t smudge or smear on me while some waterproof ones do.

IGLOT In the pot applied with a brush and Iglot eyeliner pencils.
STAYS ON THE WATERLINE.
EYELINER PENCILS:
I PREFER THE PENCILS THAT YOU DO NOT HAVE
TO SHARPEN…
CHANEL
LANCÔME
ESTÉE LAUDER
GHERLAIN
ANASTASIA
THESE ALL WORK WELL ON THE WATERLINE
AND ARE LONGLASTING 😉
ONE THAT I DONT LIKE IS MARC JACOBS.

UD’s liquid eyeliner is pretty much foolproof. It lasts even on my oily lids. MAC Blacktrack is good where gel liner is concerned. I’ve yet to find a liner that can last in my waterline, though.

Best ones i’ve come across so far are Stila waterproof and Daniel Sandler waterproof eyeliner. The latter I find particularly works well on the waterline.

to my amazement after trying so many expensive high end brands, I have found that Avon’s waterproof Glimmerstick eyeliner really works for me. All the colors are great. The only one is the black that doesn’t stay as long. Lately I am also loving the Younique liners (again the black is not as resistant).

I’m not sure about ‘waterproof’ because I don’t swim or really do anything too sweaty on the regular wearing liner. As far as liquids/gels/cream..Inglot is not moving.I LOVE Inglot amc gel liner. Gorgeous, wide color range too. You could probably swim across the world in it and it wouldn’t budge unless you had a nice oil based remover on hand. KVD liquid is good. Pencils..a lot of great ones out there now. I love UD,even on the water line with contacts, MJB lasts the best on the waterline. But, I do not like it on my lid. i find it too difficult to get to a point and dries and gets hard too quick for it’s price.I wish he just sold them halt the size, halt the price or changed the formula. Sephora contour pencils are great..tend to need layering and touch up on my water line after 5 hours or so..not bad for contacts and dry winter air and $10,Loreal silkissme are very, very nice and a drugstore product. They seem to last just about the same as the Sephora. About $8-9. A recent discovery for me too!

I love the MJB eyeliners– more so for a soft smudge on the lower lash. But my HG are the By Terry Ombre Blackstar Eyeshadow sticks. I apply them as liners with a liner blush and they do not budge. I can get a thinner line that way. I tried the Kiko as a cheaper dupe but they smudge. I’ve also used the Laura Mercier eyeliner gels and they work just fine plus their seasonal LEs are often in the blue-green range which I like.

Hands down Inglot gel liner in #77. I’ve tried it on the waterline too, and it was so hard to get off, it was scary! So, I don’t use it daily. I use my Mac Blacktrack in waterline which stays ok. But on upper lid, I like KVD Trooper and plenty of drugstore varieties like Loreal Infallable and Maybelinne. As far as pencil goes, hands down a discontinued Bare Minerals Round The Clock pencil in Midnight. I do not care for the new formula, though.

Christine, do the MJB liners rate highest for you regarding water-lining as well ? I have yet to find one that stays put. I’ve tried milani liquify, UD, Stila, Inglot gel liner is the closest I’ve found and it only lasts an hour or two before I look like a raccoon 🙂

Allot of people on here prefer Marc Jacobs, I found the formula wasnt very fresh and to be thick and sticky…
I really think that INGLOT is the best gel liner..
A makeup artist introduced Inglot to me and I am glad that she did..
I have used several brands of pencils and I like Estee Lauder because you can buy the version which offers refills, you then are able to buy several shades that fit into the pencil, as well as lip liner refills too.
I listed seceral brands, I forgot to mention Chanel, another good pencil, the one that does not need sharpening.

I’VE YET TO FIND AN EYELINER THAT STAYS ON MY WATERLINE! I wear contacts, my eyes are really sensitive and they water ALOT. I’ve tried Marc Jacobs, UD, Rimmel, Clarens, Loreal (Silkissime.), Tarina Tarentino, Stila (clouded my contacts), Lancôme and the list goes on. The closest I’ve gotten was the Lancôme eyeliner, but within an hour or two it was smudged ALL OVER my under eyes. I love the way eyeliner looks in the waterline, and that’s why I’m still searching for my HG eyeliner!

Any suggestions?

Try Inglot gel and or Mac black track eyeliner gels..
To me Inglot is the better of the two .
Inglot also makes a product called Duraline, combined with anything it is designed to make product last, also when the eyeliner gel or any eyeliner gel starts becoming dry, 1or 2 drops mixed with Duraline remoisens product,,,, it really works well…
Give it a try. 😉

Try the Sephora retractable waterproof liners. I can only vouch for black but this pencil is the best thing I’ve tried so far and continue to repurchase. I also wear contacts, and I can’t use UD 24/7, Milani Liquif’eye, etc because they smudge onto my contacts and cloud them.

Corri Avatar

Ardency Inn because they last through my 12 hour day, the colors are vibrant, and they don’t bleed at the corners of my eyes like many liners. I find the best application involves swabbing my water line with a q-tip first. I’m interested to try the MJB liners now that so many people have vouched for them.

I’ve tried a bunch of waterline eyeliners including Urban Decay 24/7 pencil which made me look like a raccoon after 5 hours. I looked online and watched a YouTube video where the gal raved about Yves Saint Laurant Effet Faux Cils cream longwear eyeliner. Apparently black is a hard color to find because Amazon was the only place I could find it. I purchased it for a jaw dropping $55 (I have never spent that much on a single beauty product), and I tell you I would pay a heck of a lot more. Seriously, after wearing it all day I have fallen asleep with it on and woke up the next day and I could’ve walked out of the house without doing a thing to my eyes. Today I applied my waterline liner at 8am, it was 80 degrees, outside in the sun running errands and yard work, and it is currently 2am and my makeup is still in place. You also have little to no creeping to the corners of my eyes. To me YSL is hands down the best waterline eyeliner!
