The Spring Season: Chanel Ming Rouge Allure Laque

The Spring Season: Chanel Ming Rouge Allure Laque

Chanel Ming Rouge Allure Laque ($32.00) is a soft, slightly milky neutral (maybe even a little yellow-toned) pink with subtle pink and light gold shimmer with a glossy shen. Rouge Allure Laques are kind of like liquid lipstick, but they still have a glossy sheen — I always think of them as a two-in-one product: lipstick and lipgloss. Ming is one of the softer shades of the formula available, and I get about four hours of wear out of this shade in particular. The gloss fades a little faster–about two hours or so–but the color itself hangs around longer. I love the doe-foot applicator with it, though, because it has this curve that just fits the curve of lips, which isn’t typical of doe-foot applicators.

Is this soft pink the one for you? Would you wear it?

The Spring Season is a series of posts featuring my favorite soft beige, coral, and pink lipsticks and lipglosses — all perfect for the first blossom of spring — that runs through March 2010.

OK this will be the best series ever …. at least for me. All I wear is pink lips.
I absolutely love Ming … I wear it often. I have black hair and nw15 skin so dragon was too much for me Ming on the other hand… PERFECTION

Girl about town is one of my favorites. Snob and Saint Germain. Guerlain’s georgia is also one. The other pink chanel laquer as well I forget the name.

the name is so chinese for this range, dragon & ming..

the dragon shade look rather fiery, on the other end the ming is creamy with shimmer.. i would consider taking the ming home!

Yay! I’m so excited for this Spring Season series! 🙂 I’m not into red lips, so Scarlet Season wasn’t so much for me, but this is right up my alley!

Stunning! My kind of lip colour 🙂 Out of my price range for a lippie though 🙁 In that case, I hope this is a perm product(?) *crosses fingers*

gorgeous! Am I wrong in thinking that Chanel had not yet released a milky looking lippy until now? I just know I’ve seen a ton of the Chanel looks you’ve shown, and not one of the lippies have been like this one…..

It’s a beautiful spring color. I like it, but I dunno how much is it going to resist on the lips. I see your upper lip….the color is not so attached to the lips…seems like it will fade fast

I’ve never found a nude that would make me stop my search for a HG lipstick. This Ming might be it,but I can’t make up my mind. Could you possibly post the full face while wearing this color on your lips? Thanks so much!

Hi Christine, I would ask you which is your MAC skintone, I recently discovered I’m nc25/30, I ever thought to be warm %-)
Many pinks don’t work on me, but ming is great for a day look. I own santal, too, and I love both my laques

I love Ming! I keep it in my bag every day–it’s a nice, go-to neutral. No problem with spillage either with the Chanel packaging. Wonderful shade.

I love ming! I have phoenix and dragon as well. I actually like to mix ming and phoenix, for some reason it really works for me. Thanks for the new series!

Hi Christine! Since you’ve been raving about Dragon, I FINALLY went and tried it on a couple of days ago. I’m in love. It’s gorgeous, but I just can’t afford to buy it right now. I also tried another one of the Rouge Allure Laques and loved it just as much. They truly have an amazing formula unlike none other I’ve tried, and I’ve tried ALOT. They are an amazing hybrid of gloss and lipstick. Thanks for reviewing them!

Here is my lip swatch of Nude Rose – http://www.temptalia.com/mac-dsquared-collection-lipsticks-fuchsia-fix-reviews-photos-swatches-lip-swatches

Nude Rose looks much paler and much more like a nude, whereas Ming is definitely pinky on me. Ming has shimmer as well – I’d say it’s more opaque than Nude Rose. They’re not totally different – the biggest difference is Ming seems pinker to me than Nude Rose.
