Not in the slightest. I don’t like Halloween. I know I’ll get tarred and feathered for saying it. Especially being a Goth. I just don’t find it appealing to demonize witches, black cats, and glorify gluttony. A good harvest party or an ancestral honoring day are my preferred methods of observance.
No one should have a problem – it’s your choice whether or not you like Halloween –
I’m actually going neutral/natural looking (which I never do) because I’m going as a Battlestar Galactica Viper pilot.
That is awesome.
yay!! very cool!!
Omg! That’s what I did! It was kind of hard to resist putting on more makeup…but I did get to draw a big tattoo on my arm with eyeliner!
Usually I do my kids’ makeup, but this year they’re being pirates so not much there. Maybe I can talk them into some Jack Sparrow guyliner and a touch of bronzer.
I usually at least do something Halloween themed with my makeup and clothing, because I give out the candy. I love to go full-on elaborate costume and makeup, but some years my life is more together than in other years. I’m trying to decide between a glamorous vampire or a sparkly fairy. Nothing like waiting till the last minute. 🙂
I ended up as a creepy broken baby doll. *shrugs*
Yes! I’ll be going as Melissiti, the evil Egyptian Pumpkin princess! 🙂 I published the try-out look on my blog two weeks ago and I’m sticking with it. Is Mellan dressing up? You should put kitty ears on him or something, tee hee 🙂
He dresses up just long enough for photos! 😉 He has had on his Halloween bow-tie collar for most of the month, though!
Currently sporting Poe lipstick with the blues and silvers from the Electric Palette and Vice 2. Gotten a lot of compliments at work. I tried some false lashes but they wouldn’t stay correctly so instead lined my eyes with Perversion liner topped with the blue and “clear” heavy metal glitter liners from UD and more mascara than I normally do. It’s still weird seeing my reflection with such unconventional lip color but it’s kinda cool at the same time.
Not really special. I dressed up as Angelica from Pirates of the Caribbean so the makeup is really basic.
Nope :).
Nope. I didn’t even get a costume this year lol. Halloween just doesn’t feel the same now that my friends have moved 🙁
Yes! I spent this morning attempting realistic freckles by spraying facepaint on my face with an eyebrow brush and I had to draw a large birthmark the shape of Mexico over half my face with a lip pencil. Lots of mascara and bold brows, but the ‘typical’ non-costume makeup was very basic. Props to anyone who can tell who I’m dressing up as 😉
I made the dubious decision to be a boy for halloween (Marty McFly) so I don’t get to do anything fun (I don’t even get to do normal every day fun! just base and contour). But my boyfriend is going as Doc Brown and he looks hilarious in his costume so I’m pretty excited anyway.
I generally like to use halloween as an excuse to do something fun with makeup. Last year I had a great time with black swan. But I was worried about getting out of work in time this year so kept it simple 🙁
I’m wearing a rainbow eyeliner look using colors from Sugarpill’s Burning Hearts palette and the Urban Decay Electric palette with Kat von D’s Poe on my lips. I also made my eyebrows blue (with blue eyeliner pencil) and used teal mascara on my lower lashes.
I tell anyone who asks that I’m a citizen of the Capitol from the Hunger Games, but really I just wanted an excuse to wear Poe to work.
I did a couple orange&black and orange&purple looks over the past few weeks. Today I am rockin’ full on Lichtenstein makeup. Although I didn’t line my lips in black, holy heck how do people manage that? No parties so I just ran errands looking like a crying comic book character.
I made homemade fake blood for an outfit I wore to work today. The storebought stuff didn’t look very real.
I was lazy this year so I just got a bowler hat and an extravagant false eyelash and made myself up as Alex from A Clockwork Orange.
Neutral makeup with Tom ford nude dip dupes and Tom Ford a Negligee lips because I am a sockmonkey along with my boys!
My makeups pretty bright colors because im a gypsy but my husbaqnd is Tonto from the Lone Ranger so he is my project! I did a good job for a party we went tolast week now i have to redo it after work tonight
Im wearing Too Faced Melted in Fuchsia and pretty pink and purple eyeshadow and a dramatic cat eyed winged eyeliner
I’m wearing my MC Burnt Orange eyeshadow pigment today. It’s a bit bright for wearing every day, or else I would!!
Today I dressed up as Wednesday Addams for work! My boyfriend said “oh, you’re wearing a costume?” so it’s all stuff I wear anyway haha! 😀
I used a Guerlain foundation that’s too light for skin, on my eyes I used MAC Groundwork paint pot, the UD Naked Basics Palette (Naked 2 & Venus) & a sample of a Lancome Hypnose mascara I keep in my purse, Illamasqua cream pigment in Delerium for blush, MAC Taupe as contour, set with Hourglass’s ALP in Diffused. Finished with braided pigtails!
Halloween isn’t that big here. So no. I did plan a few in my mind, though. That was fun, I even tried one out, but I needed a purple base, and I don’t have anything like that, so I used an old purple eyeshadow. LOL It looked awful, but it was fun contouring and highlighting.
I’m not going to a show or anything, so no, not this year…
But Mellan looks adorable! Love big dogs!
Day of the Dead sugar skull… My inspiration was Rick Baker’s Day of the Dead look for MAC. He, of course, is a legendary make-up artist and I’m not. But it was great fun.
Yes, my daughter-in-law and I put on a ton of grey/black eyeshadow, white face and red lipstick to go trick or treating last night. We were all dressed in black – Anika dressed up as a cat – with cat ears, a tail and whiskers on her face. She looked fantastic.
I wore crazy makeup to work Wed (faunface) and Thursday (dark water-ish face), and today dressed in my goth club clothes with an 18c inspired makeup and powdered wiggish hair. Since I don’t get to go out at all anymore, really, except for work, I’ll take any day work will let me wear my favorite/best clothes and the makeup that goes along with them!
Nah – I stopped that when I got in high school. Loved seeing my two daughters dress up and have fun as they were growing up!! Now that was fun.
I did a spider queen makeup for work. Really surprised my boss lol
Yes, sort of. I’m staying with my mom, who had cataracts removed Wed. I went out today to a nearby med spa and had a “derma planing” procedure. I left with my face as soft and fresh as a baby’s butt, and a generous slathering of lightly tinted sunscreen. I guess I’ll go wash up soon and crash, but this short, simple procedure made such a HUGE difference, I’ve felt all afternoon like I’m wearing some glamorous mask 🙂
I was going to do a broken doll, but when the time came, I didn’t feel like it.
Yep! I didn’t have much of a costume, but I did my face makeup as a cool semi-creepy clown look (IMO, not even creepy, but I was sort of going for that vibe). I was happy with the look, but my face paint, unfortunately, separated quite a bit about five hours in.
My makeup look this year was the extreme cat eye liner and the
9 temporary tattoos that I applied for my Amy Winehouse costume.
I went as Maleficent (Sleeping Beauty version)… most challenging makeup project I’ve ever done so far. People at worked as me, “Who did your face?”

My friends and I did the ENTIRE cast of Firefly for Halloween, and since I was River I had a no-makeup Halloween. I did, however, get to do all the makeup for my friend who went as Inara, and it was so much fun!
