This week’s Mellan photo/video…
Haul: MAC Lash Applicator
Weekend plans: Thanksgiving weekend for US up here in Canada.
What’s your favorite part about autumn?: The crispness of the air as well, the leaves changing into vibrant red and oranges. It actually my favourite season even though it’s short lived.
Have you tried using the Lash Applicator yet?
It’s MAC take on the uber expansive Shu Uemura. $48CAN >_< I cringe at the price every time I'm at the Eaton Centre Sephora in Toronto.
I like it but I wish it was smaller/thinner handle. It's has pretty strong spring action compare to shu's False lash applicator but the shape of the applicator is practically identical so it works just as well.
Ooh, nice! I haven’t tried shu’s, but I think I bought MAC’s (I can’t remember, lol) last time I had to make an order…
I don’t feel like googling. What’s MAC lash applicator? If for falsies, nevermind, but yes I’m curious. 🙂
Haul: Not a thing! I have been good for a few weeks now!
Weekend plans: Finally the dresser is set up! buying last minute presents before my flight home!
What’s your favorite part about autumn?: The colors!
Yay for being good 🙂
I LOVE the bow tie w/ little whalies
Haul: LORAC Mega Pro…only thing about all of holiday I’m excited about. I hope I like it b/c I don’t know what Amazon’s return policy is like when it comes down to make up.
Weekend plans: Philly for two back to back shows of Nick & Knight! Monday will be horrid but I’ll only have 6 days of work until I’ll be in FL for vacation part 2. Excited!
What’s your favorite part about autumn?: The whole month of October because that means it’s my birthday, Backstreet Boys Cruise, and Halloween!
Fingers crossed you like it!
Mellan!
Haul, nothing! Trying to save for all the holiday LE’s
Weekend.do a bit of cleaning outside. Long walks with Stubbs,or shorter if it’s raining.
What’s your favorite part about autumn? I have to agree with the fantastic air, but I think it’s the colours I like the best. Same with spring, but thenit’s the sheer young greens, now it’st the yellows and the reds.
What holiday LEs atre at the top of your list?
Haul: Some more BE Creative Make Up! And I plan on buying some pharmacy cosmetics later today.
Weekend plans: Not sure. I’m hoping for some one-on-one time with my man, but I fear he’ll have to work again 🙁
What’s your favorite part about autumn?: The colors probably.
Aww, hope you can find a lil’ time to spend with your man!
Not a single thing. Im proud of myself. But have a Cle de Peau shadow in my cart, as well as Cocoa Mirage and a By Terry cream eyeshadow. Waiting for the right time.
Right there with you about the crispiness of the autumnal air. My favorite. My favorite season!
Which Cle de Peau eyeshadow?
Satin Moon or Stellar Gaze. Still can’t decide.
Btw… Mellan looks do polished and cute!
xoxo
Haul: Chanel Lip Glossimer in Giggle
Weekend Plans: working , studying for midterms.
Favorite part of autumn: everything! It’s my favorite season. If I had to pick one thing, I like that the temperature can shift often, letting you mix and match yearly clothing.
Good luck on your midterms, Veronica!
Haul: Two Charlotte Tilbury eye shadow palettes! The Dolce Vita & Glamour Muse
Weekend plans: It’s Canadian Thanksgiving this weekend & Monday’s a holiday! So I’ll definitely be spending time with my family & eating some turkey! Additionally, I like how some places in the US are changing Columbus Day into Indigenous People’s day! As an indigenous person myself, I think that’s amazing. We observe Aboriginal Day in Canada (stat holiday here in the NWT) but it’s in June 🙂
What’s your favorite part about autumn?: The boots & booties! The scarves! Cosy sweaters! I love it all!
Ooh, very nice haul! 🙂 Have you worn either palette yet, Meghan?
I hadn’t heard about some places changing Columbus Day to Indigenous People’s Day – that is very cool!
I just got the palettes in the mail last night and swatched! They seem very creamy & pigmented except for the ‘pop’ sparkly colours (especially the Glamour Muse palette – I think the purple could have been better). I’ll be playing around with them after work today!
Yes, Seattle and Minneapolis have both changed to observe Indigenous People’s day! It’s an effort to recognize Native American history & looking at the other side of the “discovery” of North America.
Very, very cool. Hope that’s a trend that catches on all over the country!
I love the idea of Indigenous People’s Day, but I don’t like the idea of changing already established days… I actually think it’d be more sincere to give IPD its own day!
Well the idea is that “already established” days are from one narrow view point that aren’t necessarily inclusive of the many realities that exist(ed). And that since there were already Indigenous peoples living in the Americas, Columbus didn’t exactly ‘discover’ it.
Mellan looks so gorgeous with that bow tie! xoxo for Mellan!
Clinique skin care (Macy’s gwp)
Take the boys to the park and maybe see a movie.
Love cool air so I can take the boys to the park and long walks in the morning.
Have a great weekend Christine.
Thank you, Lily! 🙂
Do the boys run off leash at the park?
off leash so they can play with other dogs and get petted by humans!
Funnnn! 🙂
Haul: Make Up For Ever Studio Case (LOVE); Nars Pro-Prime Smudgeproof Eyeshadow Base
Weekend plans: Baking an apple crumb pie, making a huge pot of chicken tortilla soup, going to my parents’ on Sunday for a Sunday Meatball Supper complete with pasta, salad, and garlic bread! This is where I’ll be taking my apple pie.
What’s your favorite part about autumn?: The colorful, changing leaves, the warm-toned color schemes, apples, pumpkins… and my anniversary in November. 🙂 I love Fall!
Happy to hear the Studio Case is nice! 😀
Haul: Got my last sephora order way faster this time! Got the UD Full frontal lipstick set as a Christmas gift and the hourglass blush palette for myself. The comments seem really mixed, but on my pale nw20 skin, a single brush stroke picks up lots of colour for me! So I’m very happy with it. Wouldn’t have known about it without this site. 🙂
Plans: Canadian Thanksgiving!! Yay turkey and long weekend!
Favourite part of autumn: the clothes! Sweater time!
Woohoo! Love when orders come fast 🙂

What’s your favorite part about autumn?: landscape in autumn is so beautiful for me!
How are you liking Charlotte Tilbury’s Eye Cheat?
■Haul: A bunch of past limited edition Maybelline Color Tattoos (this website called buymebeuaty.com carries a few of old collections). Feeling overwhelmed by all the new holiday collections, so debating where/when to drop my money.
■Weekend plans: I may go to Sandwich, NH fair. I would normally jump on this, but I have a midterm on Sunday, so I’m debating!
■What’s your favorite part about autumn?: VAST AVAILABILITY OF BUTTERNUT SQUASH, PUMPKIN, AND APPLE FOODS ITEMS! *_*
I’ll join you in feeling overwhelmed by the holiday sets! Honestly, I don’t know how anyone can choose. There’s too much stuff.
I just go with the brands I know, and narrow it down from there…
Well that’s just it! I buy from so many different brands because I ain’t loyal to anyone! lol
Haul: The Body Shop bath and hair stuff. Plus the makeup-removing balm, with a lot of hype recently going on among my friends. Gotta try it out. Still on the fence of getting Make Up For Ever Studio Set or not ( I love the toolbox packaging it’s so industrial and looks unbreakable but I’m in an awkward stage of “might move to another city if I get that awesome job” so it might be too much for moving)
Weekend plans: Movies and Tv shows. So much to catch up!
What’s your favorite part about autumn?: The crispness of the air! (totally agreed! Just that in the south, it lasted only for 2 nights last weekend and we are back to 81F with high humidity now…)
I will wait patiently to see if you resist the Studio Set 😉

Weekend plans: Plenty of reading assignments and writing a draft for my research paper.
What’s your favorite part about autumn? So many things! The cooler air, apple desserts, Mabon, Samhain (I’m Wiccan, btw) and the beautiful changing leaves.
Apple desserts. Yes, yes that is an excellent part about fall.
Haul: I brought two Artist shadows dark green and a dark greenish blue. I like them and am contemplating getting the Studio Case soon. Also picked up two Revlon Colorstay moisture stains coral and wine colors. They were on sale for 40% off at Walgreens so thought I’d try them out.
Weekend plans: May catch a movie, thinking about seeing Addicted or Dracula. Do some housework and catch up on my reading

My fav item is Chanel Mirror … I wanted that since so many months …
whenever I open it I feel like princess …
dont know whyyyy ?
Aww!! 🙂 That is so cute!
Mellan.. 😀 Always makes me smile.. How was his first reaction to you trying to put bows and costumes on? I wanted to protect a passed dog from the bitter cold snow we had one winter, so I bought special booties. I was only able to get the back two on and, 🙁 , my dog limped, trying only walk on front feet. Needless to say it didn’t work out but was cute! Luckily, in a wrong way, when she was spayed they gave her 10X the anesthesia needed so we had a mighty sleepy dog.. And I put bows on as well as delicately placing her in decorated baskets.. Fussy sweet thing.. My photo album is over 800 pictures, and I can Mellan has something similar. So thank you for sharing what brings sweet memories to me 🙂 I think we all love him, though. ^_^?
Haul: Guerlain holiday Meteorites, Shu Uemura Gloss a Unlimited in BG 10, and Shu Uemura Rouge Unlimited – My dear Matte Collection lipstick in Mystic Plum. HG MLBB 😀
Weekend plans: PR work for a new band. Sleep.
What’s your favorite part about autumn?: The view of rainbow leaves from trees thst cascade over mountains as far as I can see on a sunny day, plus the weather is nice. 🙂 HAPPY WEEK TO ALL! Be well! 🙂
He’s been in costumes and various neck and head-wear since he was a wee pup, so he’s used to it and really not bothered by it. When he was younger, we would give him treats while wearing them and standing still for photos 🙂 Now that he’s older, he has to do about four hundred tricks to get a treat, lol!
I put socks on Mellan once, and I forgot to take them off, and he ate them. He had “leg warmers” on the next morning, LOL!
Awwwww!!! Hahaha 😀
Hilarious!
Haul: absolutely nuttin’ (woe is me!)
Weekend plans: It’s my birthday weekend, Canadian Thanksgiving AND the Rockton World’s Fair! A friend is coming from out of town to attend the fair with us but in the morning, we’re driving to my son’s university town to take him out for brunch, then going to the fair (meeting said friend and my daughter and son in law). Sunday, I’m roasting a turkey to take to mother in law’s for a family Thanksgiving dinner. Busy weekend but a nice one.
Favourite part of about fall: the cooler temps, the crunch and smell of the leaves, fall clothing and feeling like wearing more makeup (and weather that’s more conducive to wearing more makeup, more colour, etc.)
Happy birthday AND Canadian Thanksgiving, Mariella! 🙂
Haul: I splurged on Bobbi Brown again: Forest Shimmer Ink Gel Liner, Bone Creme Shadow, Rose Petal Creamy Lip Color and Cream Shadow Brush. Love the products and the look. I stocked up on rituals yogi flow shower foarm, too.
Weekend plans: Nothing special
What’s your favorite part about autumn?: I don’t like autumn very much, but I enjoy really warm baths, fairy lights in my living room and hot beverages.
Lovely Bobbi Brown haul, Nicole! Love her Gel Liners.
Haul: Nothing this week.
Weekend plans: Going to the Art Institute for the Magritte exhibit.
Favorite part about Autumn: Crunchy leaves and hot cocoa!
Enjoy your trip to the Art Institute!
MAC format blush and two lipsticks from the matte line, style in sepia and living legend
Nice MAC haul, Joanne!
I LOVE Living Legend!
Haul: More byalegory make organizers. Also headed to bellingham, closest us town to vancouver with a mall, so fingers crossed i don’t see anything amazing I can’t get at home. Update on the real techniques nic’s pics. I love the cheek, face, and liner brushes but I don’t love the two other eye brushes.
Weekend plans: It’s canadian thanksgiving. So turkey dinner and time with my husbands family as my parents are away.
What’s your favorite part about autumn?: The weather and back to school which means back to work.
Are the other two brushes useful, at least? Any particular reason you don’t like them? (Bad quality?!)
They are good quality and actually I used one of them successfully today. The other one is large so I’m just not sure how to use it. That’s my only issue. In the states I did pretty well keeping to my no buy. I did buy 2 pixi eyeliners one in sage gold and one in black blue. I also got a pixi lip balm in pixi pink. I was going to buy the mj liners in navy and green but for 11 dollars each and just as good quality IMO this was a better option.
That is impressive, Elisa! I do not know I could show so much restraint 😉
I have been BROKE lately, so nothing fancy for me. I picked up NYC loose translucent powder at the drugstore last night since I recall you recommending it and it was like, $3. It really is nice! Still hoping the Chanel Dentelle Precieuse doesn’t sell out before I can get my paws on it.
Isn’t it? Love when there’s a good drugstore find 😀
Used it this morning. LOVE it
Yayyyy!
Haul: No makeup this week but, I got a new iPad mini and some accessories.
Weekend Plans: More housework and Dracula Untold. Also a Halloween planning session
Favorite part of Autumn: Halloween, of course!
How fun! My husband is eager for the new iPad release!
Haul: Nothing yet!
Weekend plans: Housework (yuck), read and hopefully get my hair done (it´s almost becoming and emergency, hee hee)
Favorite part about autumn: I love to start wearing more lipsticks and nail polishes in rich, deep colors!
I love Mellan sporting that cute bow tie – the freckle in his ear makes him even cuter!!
Good point — fall is a great time for deeper, richer lip/nail colors 😀
Haul: I actually (shock horror) got a MAC product!! (As you know I’m not for some unfathomable reason a MAC fan) Yup! I did it. Finally. I ended up getting a lipstick : Impassioned pink. It’ll be a nice summery colour.
Weekend plans: Alternating between blobbing and ironing me thinks.
Favorite thing about autumn: The colours.
Congrats! 😉 Was it a little bittersweet? LOL!
I’m still crying myself to sleep at night!!
lol!
I laughed hard at the MAC comment! I’ve bought 4 large Holiday palettes over the last 2 weeks, and my favorite is… MAC Gravitas, LOL! Not only is it MAC, but it leans quote warm, which I’m not usually drawn to…
If ever a dog were meant to wear a bow tie, t’was surely Mellan! Looking quite dapper, I must say!
Haul: MAC Cranberry eyeshadow
Weekend plans: Nothing planned, just going with the flow.
What’s your favorite part about autumn?: Ummmm…. everything! The *feeling*, the scents, the colors, the holidays! What’s not to love?
Cranberry is such a great shade!
Love the bow tie! Melllan is so cute! Where can I get it for Sam( my yellow lab)?
Here ya go! https://www.etsy.com/shop/BigpawCollars
Haul: Umm, the last third of my theBalm order from HauteLook came this week. I also got my goodies from Beauty Box 5 and a surprise Bella shadow in Bella Gray from Milani (a contest win)!
Weekend plans: rest! Work has been so stressful lately
Fave part of fall: the crisp air and the pretty, colorful leaves!
Congrats on the contest win!
Mellan, you’re looking good in your adorable new bow tie!
Haul: Performance Colors lipsticks; NYX Wicked lipsticks; UD Ten 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil Set.
Weekend plans: My younger son is having a friend over Saturday. Both boys have (high-functioning) Asperger’s Disorder, so it’s a big deal that they feel comfortable enough around each other to start home visits. So exciting! My son has rarely been able to have friends over due to day treatment policy at his last placement. Now that he’s at a therapeutic school, he can be more social. Yes, I’m a happy, happy mama.
What’s your favorite part about autumn?: The leaves changing colors, the fresh air and the rain washing out allergens out of the air.
Aww! So happy for you! What a great accomplishment for your son (and his friend, and you for being such a great parent!).
You’re too sweet. Thank you.
Congratulations on your son’s sucess!
Thanks! The visit went great. They played video games and ate, like typical teenagers.
Happy endings!! 😀
Haul: …A *ton* of MAC products, LOL! I *finally* pulled the trigger and picked up Sculpt, Shadowy, Emphasize, Accentuate, & Light Sweep, a double-sided palette w/2 blush inserts, MAC F&B in White, Gravitas palette (LOVE!!!), Pro Longwear Concealer in NW15, and a mini Fix+. I also grabbed the tarte Bon Voyage set & L’Oréal True Match Lumi Foundation in W1-2, which is surprisingly neutral-I just wish I grabbed during ULTA’s 40% off sale, but at least I was able to use my points. I really like the foundation, and had been putting off buying it because I thought it’d be too yellow.
Plans: Depotting my MAC blushes into my palette, fixing a couple of broken eyeshadows…
Fall: I live in Los Angeles… We don’t get seasons! That said, Halloween is something I look forward to every year, and now that I’m a parent, back-to-school, LOL!
Wow! Lots of MAC products! Have fun depotting!
Haul: I really went to town this week haha! Picked up an Eyeko Visualeyes Liquid Eyeliner in Mocha (REALLY good) and a bareMinerals eye colour in Soul. My Ebay purchase arrived: L’Oreal Silkissime in Highlighter! And last but definitely not least, my Bobbi Brown High Shimmers!! Pink Sequin, Pink Tulle, Hot, Naked Plum, plus a mini Bare Sparkle, mini Extra Repair Eye Cream and mini Smokey Eye Mascara. I’m a happy girl lol
Weekend plans: Rest my injured leg! Good thing I’m not working!
What’s your favorite part about autumn? I love breaking out my boots and scarves and coats!
OOH! L’Oreal eyeliner! Hope it was worth the wait 😉
And yesssssss, High Shimmers. LOVE!
Hope your legs feel better, Jade!
Haul: Tom Ford Softcore blush and Bruised Plum lipstick.
Weekend plans: None – relaxing.
What’s your favorite part about autumn? Everything – the cooler weather, the colors, the holidays…
Nice fall haul, Pteetsa!
You know, I went back and read your review of Softcore again, and you’re right – the highlighter has the tendency to settle into lines and pores. It kind of emphasized some minor lines under my eyes. You can’t hardly see them when I’m not wearing anything, but I did notice them at the end of the day I was wearing this. But it looked very pretty otherwise…maybe if I just prime really well, it will wear better. The blush is beautiful. I kind of got talked into the lipstick, but it’s really pretty and feels pretty nice (I’m fussy about lipstick). I went back and got the LE mascara in metallic brown. I have high hopes for it and that it will look good with my light eyes. 🙂 Have a good weekend, Christine!
You might try a fan brush as well for the highlighter – sometimes I find it helpful for highlighters that emphasize!
Haul: Estee Lauder Night Repair Complex II serum set. It came with a moisturizer and eye cream for the regular price of the serum. Im loving it so much! The expression line between my eyebrows has faded significantly only after 3 days of use! I find it really brightens my skin as well. The eye cream is beautiful too. I find it has really brightened up my eye area and it also looks considerably less puffy. Im very pleased great purchase! I also ordered the Origins Bestsellers Kit from Sephora and the ABH Tamanna Palette. The colours look like they will really compliment my warm features. My shopping cart is full on Sephora right now but I am waiting out for the 20 % off sale.
Weekend Plans: I live in Canada and we are celebrating Thanksgiving this weekend, so there is a lot of turkey and bonding with friends and family this weekend.
Favorite thing about Autumn: my favourite thing about Autumn is the crisp fall air and the beautiful colour palette. Also that all the wasps are dead. They have been really aggressive and stinging like crazy around here.
Wow! Three days? That’s awesome!
Haul: MAC Frank N Furter lipstick. The new freestanding store near me opened just in time to get this collection. I actually squealed when I saw it!
Weekend plans: Catch up on sleep.
What’s your favorite part about autumn?: Breaking out the boots! I also love the colours of the leaves changing.
YAYYYYY! 🙂
Haul: Actually a pretty good week. I picked up some great things from ELF, my favorite HD setting powder, an eyelash curler, and several brushes. I got a couple more lipsticks from Wet n Wild, Black Orchid and Dark Wine. I also received my monthly Maven box from Julep, and besides some great Halloween themed colors of nail polish, I have this amazing new overnight mask, Night Shift Sleeping Mask, and after using it last night I can say it makes my skin feel wonderful. Very heavy moisturizer, my skin feels smoother and firmer and looks really good today. Finally, I took my Mother to Ulta yesterday and spent a couple of hours just trying everything new, testing and swatching and had a great time. I really enjoy Ulta’s brand of eyeshadows, so I bought their 70 piece Beauty Treasures set. It comes in an adorable pink traincase, and has tons of products so I can play with everything. It was on sale for $19.99 and included a coupon for $5 off a later purchase, so I couldn’t pass it up. I will be having fun playing with color for days!
Weekend plans: Working, making a big pot of potato soup and some no-bake cookies. It is that time of year when I start cooking like crazy.
What’s your favorite part about autumn?: Everything! I love the weather, the crisp air, the falling leaves, walking through the woods, the smell in the air, and pumpkin everything. Our anniversary is in October, and someone once told me that Fall is the best time of year to fall in love, and I agree.
Potato soup! Yummy.
You gotta let me know how good (or bad) the ULTA set is. I don’t do those blockbuster sets (I just refuse – there’s no way I can get through 80 eyeshadows, lol!) but always like to hear how they perform.
I can’t even imagine trying to review these kind of large sets with everything else you tackle, but this was pretty good. It has 40 different eyeshadows, plus eyeliners, gel eyeliners, lipsticks and lip glosses, powder, bronzer, highlighter, eye primers, and no doubt something else I am forgetting at the moment. The eyeshadows are nice, they could be a little more pigmented, but with the primer they are great. My favorites are the matte shades, and this set has some great dark mattes. I would definitely purchase the individual colors after this. I really liked the train case, although you have to remove the trays in order to access all of the products or you will never get to some of them. Overall, I would say it is a great value for the price, and gives me a much better idea of the range of Ulta products, which I am pretty happy with at this point.
Thank you, Johnna! 🙂 That’s awesome to hear it’s performing so well.
Haul: theBalm eyeshadow primer, Real Techniques brushes, Anastasia Dip Brow, Essence lipstick (2.99! & its so pretty!), Mario Badescu Ceramide Herbal Eye Cream, Freeman single use clay masks & 2 fullvsize bottles, Kate Somerville Thirst Quencher Serum (WHOA! I need to stop shopping…I was doing so well on not spending money lol then again some of these are repurchases…)
Weekend plans: Hike or gym, undecided still…
What’s your favorite part about autumn?: Boots, boots, boots!
Which RT brushes did you get?
I actually just bought Mario Badescu’s Hyaluronic eye cream to try. Have you used the Ceramide one before?
I got the “your eyes enhanced set” & the blush brush but I actually use the blush brush to set my foundation with powder, it’s a bit big for my cheeks. Mario Badescu had sent me some samples in like May or June & I just completely fell in love with the ceramide eye cream. I tried to go back to my previous eye cream but eyes weren’t having it haha Its just really good at moisturizing so even my concealer creases less. I also like that doesn’t make my eyes water if I accidently put it too close to my lashine.
Nice! I will have to check it out – I always want to use eye cream but find so many of them to burn!
Yeah I have the same issue with eye creams especially the ones that have like anti-aging or brightening ingredients. I got this on in my eye this morning & it got teary by no burning 🙂 My eyes are also super sensitive to smells…it sounds weird but stuff that smells to strong like some Freeman masks will make me tear up so bad.
Poor eyes! 🙁
First the adorable(ly dignified) Mellan…then the adorable bowtie…then the bowtie HAS ADORABLE WHALES ON IT!!!!11!!1
What are you trying to do to us, Christine? 😛
Haul: A new trial Rosehip Oil set from Essano – I needed new moisturiser, it was on sale in the supermarket… a match made in heaven (hopefully for my skin too 😉 )
Weekend plans: balletthesis…thesisballet…etc
Favourite part about autumn? Probably the fact that you get the gorgeous contrast between bright blue sky and orange/red/gold leaves. Failing that, all the purple that comes into makeup collections all of a sudden! 😉
Kill your wallets slowly with makeup and melt your hearts with dogs and bowties, obviously! 🙂
