NARS Spring 2010 Collection

NARS Cosmetics Spring 2010 Collection

Inspired by Catherine Deneuve’s role as Lucille in La Chamade, the NARS Spring 2010 Collection features soft, sexy shades that are as elegant as they are versatile.

“I love Catherine’s makeup look in this movie,” says François Nars, Founder and Creative Director of NARS Cosmetics who chose supermodel Amber Valletta for the campaign. “It’s very sophisticated and bourgeois in a Parisian ‘16th Arrondissement’ way. She is the perfect reference for this collection, and apropos for spring, a time to embrace color and get noticed.”

Nars created a look that is confident, cosmopolitan and polished. On skin, he applied NARS Fiji Sheer Glow Foundation, followed by NARS Eden Pressed Powder for a perfectly smooth finish. He contoured Amber’s cheeks with NARS Amour Blush then highlighted her complexion with NARS Albatross Highlighting Blush Powder.

On the eyes, François applied the golden moss shade of the NARS Camargue Duo Cream Eyeshadow over the entire upper lid, then blended outward. The sienna shade was used to define the lower lash line with the NARS Push Eyeliner Brush. He then layered the sienna side onto the lid and brow bone, and swept the hue into the lash line. For additional brightness, NARS Albatross Highlighting Blush was dusted onto the eye, and NARS Nabucco Eyeliner Stylo was swept on to line the top lashes. NARS Blondie Single Eyeshadow was used to create an impactful brow. Lastly, two coats of NARS Larger Than Life Lengthening Mascara were applied to the top and bottom lashes.

To complete the look, François lined the lips with NARS Borneo Lipliner Pencil, filled them in with NARS Cruising Lipstick and layered on NARS Easy Lover Lip Gloss for extra shine and fullness.

they usually post what was used on the total look when it goes up online, so you can probably find out when the collection is released.

hope that helps.

Ooh I’m loving the pic of Amber Valetta as Catherine Deneuve very “Belle de Jour” – I’m assuming that’s Amber Valetta….

I like the glosses and I want to check out that nude lipstick!

I’m liking the eye shadow duos. I’m getting them both, unless Kuala Lumper has lots of glittery fallout. The lipstick looks like a nude-mauve, but might be too pale. The model’s lips are heavily lined. Very ’80s look. Will have to see in real life.

I think there was supposed to be another Orgasm product in this collection too. A highlighter or something? Where did I read that? Perhaps during Fashion Week……

i wonder how purple rain compares to Chanel’s vendetta. i might get D. Gorgrous and Kuala Lumpur depending on the color payoff. Those kinds of colors tend to not show up on me. i am so excited about easy lover. hopefully it is the gloss version of schiap.

love the photo-very catherine deneuve in belle du jour…however the eyeshadow looks yellow, and there doesn’t seem to be a yellow in the collection..weird

(This is what I read from the Chinese p/r give by the source. My translation might not be 100% accurate)

Camargue’s champagne – whole crease and smoked outward.

Using #2 Brush and the brown side of Camargue, line on the upper and lower waterlines as well as the browbone(?)

Highlight the inner corner of the eyes with Albatross and slightly smoke the eyes with Stylo Eyeliner in brown

Apply mascara and shape the brows with #Blondie.

I think the eyeshadow duo and the nail polish are calling my name… I can toootally hear it 🙂

Oh and I don’t think this is the promo picture. Amber Valetta (the model) recently contributed to Francois Nars’ 15 year anniversary project called 15×15 and she was pictured as Catherine Deneuve in Belle du Jour. I believe they did use the lipstick in this collection on her so that’s how we get a sneak peak…

And Purple Rain seems a touch lighter and bluer than Chanel Vendetta.
