Holiday Makeup: Winter Wonderland in Blues
Here’s a wintry wonderland kind of look! There’s not much to it, and I tried to stick with mostly permanent eyeshadow shades as well. I felt like I hadn’t done a blue-ish look in awhile, so I figured I should knock one out!
Happy Wednesday!
You will need the following…
- Eyes: Soft Ochre paint pot (neutral beige base), Electra eyeshadow (silver), Moon’s Reflection (cool-toned blue), Freshwater eyeshadow (medium blue), Deep Truth (dark blue), Prussian eyeshadow (matte navy blue), Femme-fi eyeshadow (highlighter) Urban Decay Binge 24/7 Liner (dark blue), Plushlash mascara (black)
- Face:Â Kiehl’s Tinted Moisturizer (medium)
- Cheeks: Enough Said blush (bronzy), Dior Amber Diamond Skin Shimmer (bronzy highlighter)
- Lips: Prive lipstick (baby pink), The Lap of Luxury lipgloss (nude)
- Brushes: 266 (firm, angled brush), 226 (fluffy crease brush), 219 (pointed crease brush), 214 (smudge brush), 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 129 (dense blush brush)
- Substitutes: Femme-fi = Shroom; Prive = Angel; The Lap of Luxury = Prrr
Directions: Apply Soft Ochre paint pot all over the lid as the base with the 249. On the inner lid, pack Electra eyeshadow on using the 239. Apply Moon’s Reflect eyeshadow to the inner and outer portions of the lid. Darken lower crease and outer lid with Freshwater eyeshadow using the 226, then add Deep Truth eyeshadow to the crease and then deepen with Prussian eyeshadow with the 219. Sweep Femme-fi eyeshadow underneath the brow bone to highlight. Finish with Urban Decay Binge Liner on lower lash line, and then apply Plushlash mascara on lashes. Sweep apples of cheeks with Enough Said blush using the 129, then highlight with Dior Amber Diamond Skin Shimmer with the 188. Apply Prive lipstick to lips, and then top with The Lap of Luxury lipgloss for color and shine.

Blues really make your eyes pop Christine!
Nice look.
Thank you, Jennifer!
Yea it looks really good on you. I love the baby pink lips.
Thanks, Emm!
pretty! im always afraid to wear blues 🙂 thanks for the help cristine!
Thanks, Chloe!
Ohh, don’t be!!
Very pretty! 🙂 x
Thanks, Sarah!
Very pleased to see a blue look! I always want to try to wear more blue but am never confident in it so I tend to copy your looks when I do 😉
I’ve got to ask about the eyeliner. It literally looks as though it’s *in between* your lower lashes. I only ever do liner on my lower waterline, not lower lashline, because it never looks so tidy – like it’s too much when I put it under the lashes. Any pointers?
Hey Daphne,
Thanks so much! 🙂
Make sure you’re using a softer pencil, and make sure it’s sharpened, too – both help a lot. I also look upwards when I’m applying it on the lower lash line!
Actually that looking up tip may just do the trick for me! I’m always staring really hard into the mirror when I do it and the position of my eye probably doesn’t help! Thanks 🙂
No problem!
Hey Christine this look is reall pretty, I think I’m going to do a blue look soon.
But I have a question.. how do you apply the Keihl’s tinted moisturizer.. do you just do it with your fingers? Ohh and how is the coverage ? Light? & is it kind of dewy or more matte?
Sorry for all the questions but I’m planing on picking up some.
Hi Andrea,
I use my fingers and apply it like I would any moisturizer! I do tend to apply it over another moisturizer, just because I often do my makeup hours after I’ve gone through my morning face routine. It’s light coverage and has a semi-matte finish!
Ohhh I’m loving this look, winter wonderland is a perfect description! 🙂
Thank you, LNU!
I think I’ll be wearing this for Christmas morning 😀
Aww 🙂
I love this look! It looks great with the lip color.
Thank you, Alma! 🙂
Yay I have all of the products for the eyes :p doing this look tomorrow for my party 🙂 Love it, it’s so winter-y and pretty.
Thanks, Margot!
Wow these blues look fabulous on you, Christine. I can’t imagine a colour you don’t look good in, LOL
Thank you, Marce! 🙂
Bright, raincoat yellow!
Lovely eyes, don’t like the lips though, I don’t think they look good with the bronze cheeks (sorry). But the eyes are beautiful. 🙂
Thanks, anyway, Anita! 🙂
i love it Christine!! love love love! your camera’s quality is incomparable dannnggggg!
Thanks, Charlene!
looks fab!
I am loving the swatches that are included with the look.
Thanks, DJ!
Wow… u look like an ice princess… Correct me if I’m wrong but the blues seem cool toned yet look very pretty against your warm toned skin.. I have a few similar colours.. definately going to have a play date with my makeup tonight!
ps- looking forward to your next quad 🙂
Thanks a lot, Kimberly! 🙂 Oh yes, it’s hard to meet a warm-toned blue, LOL!
Dafinitely reminds me of a winter wonderland 🙂 PS: I think you meant: Moon’s Reflect to the inner portions of the lid, Freshwater to the outer portions, darken crease with Deep Truth, then deepen with Prussian? You don’t mention Deep Truth and this seems like something you would do 🙂
Thanks, Roxanne! It was actually Freshwater in the crease and outer lid, Deep Truth in the crease, and Prussian in the crease 🙂 Fixed it now!
It’s a really pretty look and makes me want to try out blue for a long time too 🙂
Thanks, Heidi!
This look is SO beautiful!!! And thank you so much for the swatches!! I can’t wait to try this one!!
One question, where is Deep Truth used? You list it as being used but not where.
Thanks, Mariah! It was in the crease 🙂
You look absolutely gorgeous here! That lip color is my favorite of all on you!
Thank you, Holly!
Love it! It looks so pretty on you : )
Thanks, Val!
I can’t get over how pretty those blues look on you. 😀
Also, the tinted moisturizer looks very lovely on you. As well as the headband lol. 🙂
Thank you so much, Whitney 😀
omg”\!!!! Might be my favourite look by you!!! This and the lady gaga inspired one i loveee 🙂 This resembles one of those fresh, natural looks from Fashion Week!!! Moon’s reflection’s colour really stands out, wonderfully too. I haven’t seen many blue looks like this. I always thought Moon’s Reflction was a boring colour but I’ve changed my mind!
Anyway it’s unique and very sexy. Not something you’d see on someone everyday, which is what I love about this look! Thanks for sharing this with us! I might try it sometime… 😛
Aww, thank you so much, Saki! I’m so glad you enjoyed this look 🙂
So pretty and soft! You’ve inspired me.
Aw, thanks, Alicia!
First thing i thought when i saw the full-face pic: “A 60s look!” – very agogo! =) Nice
Ha! Thank you!
Great look! I am still impressed with how well your close ups come out! Do you still use the same camera?
Thanks, Jeannie! I still use the same camera!
very pretty look!!
also, it’s very helpful to see the colours swatched on your arm to get an idea of what you are working with! (for those who don’t have the particular shades) i know you have most stuff swatched anyway in your gallery, but it’s nice to have the easy access!
Thanks so much, Aradhana!
Gorgeous makeup, it makes your eyes stand out
Thanks!
Looks Gorge! I actually just bought a blue palette from Guerlain because it was just soooo darn pretty, but i’ve been scared to try out blues before. So I’m going to try this type of look for a first attempt!
Thank you, Bee! Oh, what palette is that?
blues looks good on you!!
Thank you!
I always love to see you in Blue eyeshadow, Christine.
Than you, Sash!
I love blues wintery looks. This is so frosty! Love it :).
Aw, thanks, Rosie!
You’re positively gorgeous, darling 🙂
Thanks so much, Helena!
