Chanel Dragon, Guerlain Meteorites, Tom Ford perfume, Hakuhodo brushes, Urban Decay Naked palettes are ones that come to mind! There are plenty more, I am sure 🙂
Thanks to reader Aline for today’s question idea Do you have a question idea? Submit yours here.
UD and MUFE eye and lip pencils, Nars blushes, Deborah Lippmann and Illamasqua polishes, and Mac beauty powders/mineral skinfinishes.
I think the Urban Decay Naked line always lives up to its hype. I’ve had my Naked 2 palette since December and I use it so much I forget I have other palettes lol.
Laura Mercier Caviar Sticks. I had high expectations and they still exceeded them! I have this burning desire to get them all!
Recently what comes to mind is Pleasure Bomb MAC lipstick. I really didn’t want to spend the extra money but I’m glad I have it now! <3 So that lived up to the hype for me…..
The Naked palettes are definitely one, I agree! Hourglass Blushes are another, for sure. Only have two, but I neglect all my others because of them! And also Too Faced Chocolate Soleil bronzer 😀
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush. I don’t buy into a lot of the hyped up products but this one wows me every time.
Ones I can think of offhand are Guerlain Rouge G, Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy, Bourjois Cream Blush, and Revlon Lip Butter.
Dior Lip Glow, Tarte blushes, Dior Nude Bb Cream, Chanel Cream blushes, Dior nail polishes .. my list is pretty long!
Fresh Sugar lip treatment, theBalm Cindy-Lou Manizer, Urban Decay Revolution lipsticks.
Hourglass Ambient Lighting powders and blushes, Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua, Illamasqua blushes, Clinique Cheek Pops, OCC Lip Tars, Chanel and Tom Ford lipsticks and perfumes.
Fyrinnae’s Pixie Epoxy. It makes sparkles even prettier and is not nearly as difficult to use as I’d anticipated.
I have the Urban Decay Naked palette and I really like it. But then I tried the Coastal Scents Revealed 2 palette and it feels just as good as UD quality-wise. And it has 20 shades!
Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation, Real Techniques Buffing Brush, L’oreal Infallible eye shadows (I don’t even need primer with these!), Maybelline color tattoos, Nars tinted moisturizer and Heatwave, Mac Prep and Prime for lips (how does anyone wear matte lipsticks without it?) and fluidline gel eyeliner.
And almost forgot, but the Wet n Wild Comfort Zone pallete and Mega Last lipsticks (esp. Cherry Picking) deserve all the praise they get and more.
I agree with a lot of what you said, especially the Maybelline Color Tattoos, the. Loreal Infallable shadows, and the Wet n Wild. I was actually shocked by how good they all are, better than many higher end claims! I also love the original Lorac palette more than any other palette so far. I also LOVE the Sigma F80 foundation brush, like no other!! And lastly, Estée Lauder. Double Wear is King, imo.
Guerlain Rouge G, Guerlain Meteorites, Missha Perfect M BB cream, NARS Copacabana, and Chanel Mirifique.
Urban Decay Naked2, Hourglass Ambient Lighting powders and Immaculate foundation. I’m not sure if they’re ‘hyped’ but I’ve never had a fail with a MAC blush or lipstick so far.
Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation – even though I have fairly oily skin this foundation still works brilliantly on me! Makeup Geek eyeshadows, Barry M Gelly Nail Polishes, Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade and MAC Soft & Gentle Mineralize Skinfinish.
Chanel cream blush. Most of MAC’s Pro eyeshadow. Sisley skin care.
I think the biggest one would have to be the Urban Decay 24/7 liners, if you mean a product that almost *everyone* seemed to go mad for. The Naked 2 palette might fit into this set to, actually. Otherwise there are things that multiple people have recommended to me that have worked well (Guerlain Rouge Automatiques, for one), but not things that I feel were really *hyped*, per se
Lancome Definicil mascara. The best ever, ever.
Urban Decay’s Naked 1 blew me away, even with my super high expectations, so that’s a definite yes. Another would be Bobbi Brown’s High Shimmer Lipglosses, (I just lost my almost empty tube of Pink Tulle and I will definitely be buying another). I absolutely love my two MAC Pearlglides in Undercurrent and Petrol Blue but I don’t feel they are “hyped”?
Beauty Blenders, Amrezy Palette, Red Cherry Lashes, etc
Definitely the Too Faced chocolate bar palette! I have been using it non stop since I got it 🙂
Me too! Love it!!!
I really love the Real Techniques makeup brushes – not necessarily in the way they’re suggested, but I love them all the same. It’s a bonus that they’re so well priced too.
Chanel Nail Polish..I know, so many hate the formula but it works great for me. I’m currently wearing a 10 year old bottle. One coat, super shiny and flawless 5 days in. I know its over priced. But the colors are always on point and not always dupable (no one really got Jade right). And the YSL lip lacquers. Many imitators, including Chanel, just the best. But Loreal, my drugstore go to, made a great one that was way more fun to buy.
Oh, and Maybelline Baby Lips. Whatever you’ve heard, they are better. Every color and a back up.
garnier micellar water, nars radiant creamy concealer, the body shop bronzers and real technique brushes
Mac Creme d’Nude lipstick, Nyx Butter glosses, Sleek Glossed, some Elf Studio brushes, Idk what else….no foundation, concealer or eye pencil ever lived up to their hype in my case…
Guerlain Les Voilettes, though that was really only Temptalia hype! I rarely even hear about it anywhere; it’s all about Meteroties and Sephora doesn’t even carry it.
UD’s 24/7 eyeliners and their Revolution Lipsticks.
The new Fusion Ink foundation by YSL without a doubt. It’s lush, lush, lush.
I’d say Hourglass blushes and Chanel Le Volume de Chanel mascara (it volumizes my thin, sparse lashes better than any mascara I’ve ever tried)!
Chanel Dragon, BITE Beauty Matte Creme lip crayons, LORAC shadows, UD Naked palettes are the ones i can think of right now.
NARS blushes, UD Naked Palettes (ALL OF THEM *_*), Hourglass Ambient Lighting powders.
* Bite Beauty Luminous Creme Lipsticks
* Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation
* NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer
Kat Von D Tattoo liner, Tocca perfume, UD setting sprays, Real Techniques brushes, Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder, UD eye shadows and eye liners of all varieties (original Vice palette is one of my all time favorites), Bite lip products, St. Tropez tanning products, Body Shop body butters.
The ud naked 3 palette, rt brushes, sonia kashuk brushes, mac lipsticks, nyx hd concealer, anastasia contour kit
Inglot eyeshadows, Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation, UDPP, MUFE HD Primer
Chanel dentelle precieuse highlighting powder, chikuhodo and hakuhodo brushes, makeup forever cream blush and rouge bunny rouge eyeshadows.
UD Revolution lipsticks, YSL Rouge Volupte, NARS Sheer Glow and, as others have said, the Naked palettes.
Chanel Perfection Lumiere, it has light to medium coverage, when I wear it, my skin looks flawless and suprisingly natural. I found this foundation a few years ago after spending an hour in Nordstrom going to every makeup counter to find a shade to match my skin tone. I was wearing MAC in the summer because my regular shade was too light in the winter and I went back to the counter a month ago and was color matched for summer. I have combination skin so I get a bit oily in my t-zone during the summer months, but it’s not as bad as with other foundations I’ve used. If I remember to use a primer, I’m good. I also have the Les Beiges compact that I apply to my t-zone if needed. This is it for me, as long as I can afford this foundation, I will repurchase it.
My regular shade was too light in the summer, not winter.
UD Naked palettes, UD 24/7 eyeliner pencils, Too Faced Chocolate Soleil bronzer, NARS blushes, Anastasia Brow Wiz eyebrow pencil !!!
Guerlain Rouge G and Armani ETK Mascara, Tarte blushes, NARS blushes 🙂
Becca SSP in pearl and NARS TM. I’m worried about my SSP though because it seems to have separated in the heat this summer!
The absolute best mascara I’ve ever used: Estee Lauder’s Hypnose Mascara in Excessive Black. The Best. Makes my lashes miles long and nice and thick.
Lancome makes Hypnose mascara in excessive black, not Estee Lauder
Agree on the TF perfumes there ( LOVE Oud wood sooo much). Also for me..the Sephora Pro Airbrush Concealer brush, Guerlain Parure Lumiere Foundation and NARS Light Reflecting pressed translucent powder come straight to mind!
Urban decay naked skin foundation
Hourglass blushes and powders! Benefit porefessional. Lorac pro palette. Mac lipsticks.
Guerlain Rouge G, UD Naked Palettes, Tom Ford Blushes, Tom Ford Quads, Chanel Les 4 Ombres Multi-Effect, Shiro Cosmetics Mother of Dragons Eyeshadow.
the Hourglass ambient lighting powders <3
Thanks so much for using my question! For me it’s the Beauty Blender, Clarisonic, Nars shadows and blushes and Makeup Geek shadows. From the drugstore I like the Infallible shadows and CG Lash Blast in the orange tube.
I don’t have anything to add, but this was a good question. It’s good to see what people liked!
Hourglass ambient powder, blushes, Tom Ford perfumes, hakuhodu brushes+Real techniques brushes,Kevin Aconyn essential skin enhancer, mac lipstick especially Lady danger, UD naked palettes, MUFE lip pencils, Benefit gimme brow+they r real mascara, Balm Mary lou manizer,Chanel blushes, Charlotte tilbury lip cheats, eye liners+palettes so many things my list is pretty long 🙂
UD everything, especially palettes and eyeliners. Maybelline Baby Lips. IT Cosmetics CC Cream. Tarte Blushes. Too Faced Melted Lipsticks and Better Than Sex Mascara. LA Girls Lip Glaze. My new favorites Too Faced HangeoveRX Primer and Rose Petal foundation and Tarte Rainforest After Dark Palette.
I also looooove the Hourglass ambient powders! I have the trio and I love it! Also dying that Charlotte Tilbury is launching in the US in Sept! I bit the bullet and, since I am an esthetician, I went for the skin perfectors from the UK. The gold bar could be the most beautiful highlighting powder I have ever used. The Wonderglow cream I had a hard time getting a handle on – but finally got it to work for me by mixing it with foundation- so lovely! I feel like it takes off a good 5-10 years! (For a few hours, at least!!) worth the $60 shipping from England! I pre-ordered the Miracle Cream from Beautylish and I can hardly wait until sept 15!!
Ooh, let me see now: Chanel le volume mascara (does wonders for my lashes!), Laura Mercier Caviar eye pencils – I’ve got 5 of these now and I just love them ( they don’t tug when you put them on and even without primer I’ve noticed that after 14 hours they still look great and there’s no creasing !). From Guerlain (which I adore): The Rouge G lipsticks, the Parure de Lumiere foundation and the Parure gold foundation as well as the Les voilettes compact powder – these are staples that I would repurchase again and again.
Urban Decay’s 24/7 liners, Christian Dior’s Airflash, Ruby Woo, L’OREAL HIP Liners and Barielle Hand and Foot creams.
UD Naked Basics; UD Pulp Fiction collection; UD Electric palette; TF Shadow Insurance; TF Chocolate Bar palette; TF Milk Chocolate Soleil Bronzer; UD 24/7 liner pencils (especially Perversion); UD Perversion Mascara; Tarte Amazonian Clay gel eyeliners; TF Cat Eyes palette; Wet n Wild eyeshadows; Maybelline Color Tattoo; L’Oreal Infallible; e.l.f. brushes. Sorry for the long list.
MAC lipsticks
Bobby Brown tinted moisturizer. I heard a lot about how BB’s foundations are really good and skin-like, etc. and after I got a hold of her tinted moisturizer (got a great 25% off, yeeey, but it was a lucky one off occasion) I’m totally wowed! I now need to find a way to afford that “obsession” since here it costs almost US $60 without discounts 🙁
Tarina Tarantino’s wonderful jewel eyeshadow palette, Guerlain’s Les Aqua’s, UD Vice 2, Milani Lipsticks. Thanks to your blog Christine I am generally sure of getting a great product.
MAC paint pots, Kat Von D. Liquid Lipsticks, Urban Decay Naked family, Chanel Perfection Lumiere Foundation, Benefit Porefessional and They´re Real Mascara, Nars bronzers, Tarte blushes…
Not sure they’ve been hyped as a whole, certainly some colours have. MAC Lipsticks, all the ones I have.UD Naked 3, I really like it and I keep returning to it.Formula X nail polishes and, yes, really NARS Orgasm blusher, I love it so much.
Everything Sugarpill! What comes to mind especially is their Lumi and Elktrocutes pigments, and the Burning Heart Pallette. Also Geek Chic Cosmetic’s One Ring!
Mac studio fix powder foundation, nars light reflecting loose powde, UD naked palette, estee lauder blushes
nars blushes, anastasia dip brow, ud naked basics, nars dolce vita lipstick, stila liquid liner, mac strip poker lipstick!
for some reason, i knew you’d say chanel dragon, christine! i feel like it always pops up whenever you pick all time favorites– i’ll have to pick it up sometime!
It is discontinued 🙁
Hands down, Ruby Woo. The matter the better!
UD Naked palettes, Hourglass Ambient Lighting blushes/finishing powders, UD eyeliners, OCC Lip Tars, Beauty Blenders… I can’t think of too much else that’s received a ton of “hype” per se… I have my HG products (Guerlain Rouge G and foundation, MUFE cream blush, etc) but I don’t think those have much “hype” around them.
Chanel le volume mascara
Armani ETK mascara
Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder
Guerlain Les Violettes powder compact
Laura Mercier Caviar Sticks (OMG — does not budge as waterline eyeliner)
Cle de Peau concealer (for undereye)
Burberry blush (Blossom)
So many products lol. All of Marc Jacobs fragrances have been a hit for me. I also liked MAC Retro Matte lipsticks, NARS blushes, MAC Extra Dimension products and Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip brow Pomade too
