Look: MAC Devil May Dare Neutral Eyes

This was a very quick, ten-minute look I created using MAC’s Devil May Dare Eyeshadow Palette, which was one of their holiday palettes.

You will need the following…

  • Eyes: Soft Ochre paint pot (neutral beige base), Gold Tease eyeshadow (softened gold), Prankster eyeshadow (greenish antique gold), Sorcery eyeshadow (dark reddish brown), Brun eyeshadow (matte dark brown), Oh My Darling eyeshadow (soft beige-white highlighter), Smashbox Love Pencil (copper-brown), Plushlash mascara (black)
  • Face: Kiehl’s Tinted Moisturizer
  • Cheeks: MAC Margin blush, Dior Amber Diamond Skin Shimmer (bronzy highlighter)
  • Lips: Chanel Imperiale Rouge Allure Laque
  • Brushes: 266 (firm, angled brush), 226 (fluffy crease brush), 219 (pointed crease brush), 214 (smudge brush), 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 129 (dense blush brush)
  • Substitutes: Gold Tease = Goldmine; Prankster = Patina; Sorcery = Embark; Oh My Darling = Shroom

Directions: Apply Soft Ochre paint pot all over the lid as the base with the 249.
On the inner lid, pack Gold Tease eyeshadow on using the 239. Apply Prankster eyeshadow to the middle and outer portions of the lid. Darken crease with Sorcery eyeshadow using the 226, then deepen with Brun eyeshadow with the 219. Sweep Oh My Darling eyeshadow underneath the brow bone to highlight. Finish with Smashbox Love Pencil on lower lash line, then lightly apply Plushlash mascara on lashes. Sweep apples of cheeks with MAC Margin blush using the 129, then highlight with Dior Amber Diamond Skin Shimmer with the 188. Apply Chanel Imperiale Rouge Allure Laque to lips for color and shine.

Gorgeous! Very nice, thanks Christine :)I also love the lip color too! I went to the Chanel counter the other day and they were sold out of their Rouge Allure Laque colors – all of them! 🙁

Awesome! 🙂

I like Espresso or Brun for a dark matte brown. I like Soft Brown and Wedge for more medium matte browns. I’d probably go Espresso, though 🙂

Did you use anything to keep the pigments adhered to the eyelid? I never have a problem with it fading or vanishing if I do that. Which pigment did you use?

rashmi Avatar

thanks christine m going to buy espresso

yeah i used eyedrops for pigments u know foiling … hahahahaha
i used rose pigment over rubensque paint pot

but now i will use glyserin with water.
my hubby was very angry and said dont do any eye makeup for 3 – 4 days , m still feeling very tired in eye area

This is a gorgeous look Christine! I can’t wait to try it out… I have the Devil May Dare, Margin, and just got Brun so I am set:) Does anyone know of any MAC liners that would be like the one Christine used? I am thinking maybe the Pearlglide that was a bronzy goldish color?

hey Christine, I noticed that you had used Dior Amber Skinshimmer and it looks so lovely. I want to get my hands on a skinshimmer since i am flying during the holidays, and was wondering which one you would recommend etc (Rose or Amber shimmer)?

Love the look! It’s a very beautiful and chic look :o) . I don’t currently have Patina eyeshadow (you gave it as a dupe for Prankster eyeshadow). What do you think of Patina? Is it warm-toned or more cool-toned?

Saira Avatar

Thanks for the info, Christine :o). I like the sound of Patina and it looks really pretty when I’ve seen it in swatches, etc. Will have to check it out.

this look is soooo nice…

do you think if i’ve already got patina and embark, i should just get goldmine and shroom…or would you highly recommend this LE palette? oh just realised i don’t have brun either…

Your brows look amazing! I know this is an old post, but do you remember what you filled your brows in with? It looks a bit darker than MAC Espresso, was it Brun?
