I dislike the collection, honestly, as it presents nothing that I miss in my beauty box. Colors are rather trivial. Lipsticks are too simple in the color. Eye palettes are too blueish and too brownish (not for my color type being cool summer). I try to avoid such colors in my makeup… So nothign special to buzz about…

I wonder if the Amber and Rose Nude Skin Shimmers are meant to replace Rose Diamond and Amber Diamond that folks love SOOOO much (and which seem to have been sold out at my local Sephora stores for quite some time; I have Rose but was planning to get Amber). The “new” ones look considerably less frosty, though it could just be the photos. Think I can happily pass on the eye shadows.

I was wondering the same thing about the Nude Skin Shimmers. I’m hoping for some comparison swatches to the old Rose and Amber Diamond 🙂

Hi Christine! Do you know if the Diorskin Nude Shimmer in Amber is the the same as the Amber Diamonds Powder Shimmer? I have missed out on the latter and found the ones in ebay quite pricey and dodgy. Any suggestions too as to where can i still purchase them? Cheers!

Christine Avatar

I’ve sent inquiries over the past year to Dior about them, but I haven’t received any response regarding whether they’re discontinued or not. I couldn’t tell you if these new powders are the same since I do not have them at this time! Sorry! 🙁

Thank you! I hope someday you could do a comparison of the Amber Diamonds Shimmer Powder and the new Nude Shimmer in Amber. Thanks again!

Hi Neens! I work for Dior, and these new shimmers in Amber and Rose are the replacements for the diamond shimmer compacts. They are, however, not the same product. To purchase the old product, you’d have to search different Sephoras or dept stores. Sometimes the less busy stores still have discontinued products, since they don’t sell out as fast. Hope that helps!

Ugh. If those powders are supposed to replace Amber Diamond and Rose Diamond, that is such a disappointment. Unimpressive collection overall.

Diorling Avatar

Yes, these are the replacements, but the products are not the same. The new shimmers have a more subtle shine and give a little more color, whereas the diamond compacts were more frosty. Hope this helps!

Waiting for Dior Sailor to be released in Singapore!
I’ve only been taking care and growing my nails for the past few months, so a bright cobalt blue is something I have not tried yet and it screams summer and fun!
