The only time cold weather might impact how I do my makeup is if it has actually affected my skin, so if my skin is drier, I might opt for a more luminous/water-based foundation and/or cream blushes to avoid drawing attention to dryness.

Nope, it doesn’t effect it at all. I agree the only thing would be drier skin, but I moisturize and I already wear a foundation for dry skin.

YES! In a good way, I don’t have to worry about sweating it all off. My makeup stays looking good all day. I live in the desert and sometimes regardless of all my efforts to wear long lasting makeup with primers, setting sprays ect it comes off and looks crazy within a couples hours. I enjoy maleup more in cold weather. 🙂
Dry dry dry skin! I usually skip foundation, sometimes even BB cream, altogether because everything clings to my flaky patches. I stick to a liquid concealor to spot-cover instead. It’s also very dark in the winter mornings, here, not to mention FREEZING cold in my room, so I tend to stay in bed until the last minute… meaning my makeup routine ends up being very simple! My true loves, matte matte lipstick, has to be foregone, as my lips are also crazy flaky. They get replaced by Benefit hydramooth lipstick or some kind of balm stain (Revlon, Rimmel, Clinique…)
I wish I could say yes, but unfortunately… no! I used to have to opt for creamier products or additional moisturizers in the winter, but it’s a year-round thing nowadays. I don’t know why, but I feel like I’m just getting drier and drier!
But, well, I guess I can’t really complain. Base + cheek products last foreeevvvver on my face 😛
Yes. I normally have oily skin, but during winter/cold weather I have combination/drier skin. I found that my HG winter/cold weather foundation is Nars Sheer Glow. I also like wearing more moisturizing products, like a moisturizing lipstick – Lipstick Queen Lipsticks.

Yep. Between the bitterly cold temperatures and the raging gusts, I can’t wear *any* when I have to cover my face with a thick, woolly scarf before going outside! When I’m back inside, I must drink boiling coffee and apply lots of lotions!
Normally no, but this winter my skin’s drier than normal and I’m struggling to find a routine that’s flattering without making me overly oily in my t-zone and still lasts well throughout the day. It’s strange! I’m trying to moisturize well and use less powder, and shift to a creamier primer that’ll absorb less oil.
If it’s cold, dry, and windy my eyes tend to get watery (well, more than usual, anyway), so I tend to opt for simpler eye looks, often paired with bold lips.
yup it affects my makeup routine cause my skin turns really flaky and dry on winter months so i use mac strobe cream after my moisturizer and before foundation to give more moisture on my face. and i usually don’t over powder my face, just under the eyes to set the concealer and for touch ups i only use oil blotting sheets instead of mac blot powder.
No. Unfortunately my skin is still an oily mess even when it’s freezing outside, so I still need to wear the same foundation with plenty of setting powder. I sometimes make sure to wear a more waterproof under eye concealer when it’s extremely cold, though, because it makes my eyes water really bad. Combined with some wind I’ll have tears pouring down my face within seconds, literally.

It does. In the winter because I have eczema I tend to get drier skin on my face so my foundation maybe more flakely. I try to use a non-drying foundation in the winter. Also in the summer or on holiday my makeup slides off so I need to use more primers and product to set my makeup.
Nope not at all, my skin doesn’t respond any differently to cold.
Only in the sense of using a more “kind” moisturizer (one with less water since in the really cold weather, a true “moisturizer” with water can actually freeze on/damage your skin). When I used to ski, I used a water-free petroleum jelly like product called Melkfett (lovely, no?) by Ombra. I still use it if I’m going out walking in cold weather. And in the colder months, I use a more emollient foundation (still not one of the really creamy ones but I stay away from things like Smashbox CC cream, for example – it’s very dry and matte). Lipstick choices might be different too if I’ve been careless and my lips are dry – more chance I’ll be wearing a balm or gloss than a lipstick.
I don’t really change my day to routine. If my eyes are really dry, I won’t wear eyeliner or I will use a color to try to balance out the redness.
Always, in the sense that it mans I’ll slather on extra lip balms and moisturisers at all times of the day, and start using hand cream!
If it’s also rainy and miserable to go with the cold, then I’m more likely to reach for a bright lipstick or eyeliner, too!
My makeup pretty much stays the same. My skincare sees more moisturizing and exfoliation because I’m prone to dry patches. It’s also the only time of year that I remember I own a lip scrub!
Yep. If I’m cold I’d rather spend an extra few minutes in my warm and cosy bed than on doing my makeup. Hehe. 🙂
I tend to wear a full face more often since base products last better than when it’s warm. In general I enjoy wearing make up a lot more when it’s colder.

I don’t change my makeup. Skincare routine gets changed a lil bit though i’ll use a facial oil under my moisturizer in the winter.
Cold weather doesn’t really effect my makeup products, but it doesn’t make my skin drier. I will usually opt for a glowy, tinted moisturizer in those cases (NARS is my top pick for that).

Absolutely! I use extra moisturizing lotions, serums, protectants, and moisturizers in cold weather. I also exfoliate more during the cold months. I wear more mosturizing concealers, foundations, and powders (if any at all). I even try to wear eyeliner that is not so dry. I like wearing luminizers to make my skin appear dewy. I have very dry skin, by the way.
Yes because of the need to let the thicker creams “marinate”, plus (a little offbeat) but because fall and winter call for the deeper, more intense colors (e.g. matte lipsticks which I do prefer), I feel they need to be more precise and polished.
I think certain things become more appropriate in cold weather, and the more covering clothes that I wear during Winter: darker eye makeup, smokier colors, more velvety finishes, etc. I just don’t feel right wearing that kind of thing at the beach in the hot sun!

So, if it´s a little cold here, I´ll just say AMEM and make myself a favor to use all the makeup I can. hahahaha

I think its totally a climate thing. If you live in an area where there are no dramatic changes in the weather, its easy to say “Why would you need to adjust your makeup?” – but when you get into places with scorching Summers, the truth becomes glaringly clear – there’s no sense in wearing heavy makeup in the Summer. It doesn’t go well.
Not much, but I do try to avoid using my BareMinerals original foundation when it’s cold because when I get home from a walk and look in the mirror my pores look MASSIVE!
Yes definitely! I live in Northern Canada & we have a lot snow here from the end of October until sometime in April. The temperature goes from +35*C in summer (95*F) to -50*C (-58*F) during the coldest months. Winter weather usually means fuller coverage, longer wearing makeup in case I’m wearing a scarf (the rub-off factor!) and more waterproof mascara so when your eyes get teary from the cold mascara isn’t all over the place haha! 😀
I tend to use my clarisonic more often and rely on glamglow eye and face treatments. As for color, waterproof liner and mascara are musts for me because my eyes water when it is bitter cold and windy.
Nars sheer glow foundation helps with the appearance of dry lifeless face!
The cold temps we’re experiencing in NYC impacts my skin care regimen more than my makeup. I have oily/combination skin, so the winter season lets me really enjoy my foundations without worrying about it melting off. The flip side is my eczema goes berserk. Tonight begins yet another snow-pocalpyse and yes, I will be wearing my makeup through the snowstorm and commute to/from work/home. I can still look fabulous trudging through inches of snow and sleet! Wishing all the best to my fellow East Coast residents as we brace through another snow storm.
Not so much the cold, but the lack of sun in winter definitely does, since my skin is a shade lighter and I find I can also pull off cooler colours. In summer my skin becomes really warm (it’s always warm, but much more so in summer) so cooler colours make me look sickly then.
I think so, with cold weather I tend to be bolder with my makeup. During the summer I get annoyed with heavy makeup so I tend to just wear tinted moisturizer and some lipstick and call it a day. In the winter I use heavy foundation for a flawless face.
Not really, since I live in a really hot weather and my skin is pretty much oily if it gets a bit cold my skin and I get into this amazing place haha because I don’t have to worry too much about it getting slippery and all that jazz, so yeah I love it when cold months get here even if it’s just for a bit.
