Sensai - Kanebo Concealer (Brush Type) Review
Kanebo Concealer (Brush Type) ($30.00) is the best concealer I have tried to date. It is incredibly easy to use, the formula is velety and creamy, and it does a superior job of hiding dark circles and minimizing fine lines. I also use it on minor blemishes and recent scars and have found it to work beautifully on these types of skin issues, too. It’s in a pen/brush form, which means it is great to keep in your purse or use on the go. I personally prefer to buff my concealer in using a buffer brush, but for a quick fix, the brush applicator still works. You click the end of the concealer to get the product out and simply swipe onto areas you want to conceal.
It is available in only three shades–light, medium, and dark–which may make it a limited option for some. However, concealers do not need to have as wide of a range as foundations (though I think they could probably stand to add another shade or two). Price is a little steeper than I’d like, but the results make me regret all the money I’ve spent on other concealers. To get fancy on you, Kanebo Concealer includes Reflecting Beads to help diffuse light, Silk Extract to reduce moisture loss, and Phyto Squalane to enhance moisture retention. Overall, this product is a defintie keeper in my beauty bag!
Wow, sounds great!
I wonder if it’s available in Ireland!
I’m not sure, but I know the brand seems VERY international (their site alone has several languages).
Wow Christine…I’m always on the hunt for a good concealer and right now my HG concealer is Bobbi Brown’s. But…this sounds interesting. Where can we buy it? Thanks!
Shefali
Saks Fifth, blissworld.com, I want to say Neiman Marcus and Barney’s, too.
Awesome, thanks!!
Thanks for this post Christine!!!
Sure thing, Sovann!
Ohhhh, my dark circles are curious. I’ve been using Dior for the last two month but there’s always room for more concealer.
I remember your post! I was quite tempted to try it out, but then Kanebo came along, and I’m happy enough… to at least avoid spending more money on concealer at the moment, lol.
This looks very similar to the Clinique Airbrush Concealer I use. I’ve never tried the Kanebo concealer before, but the Clinique one is super blendable, velvety smooth and looks super natural. And it’s only $19.50! A full $10 difference, I think it’s worth trying out.
Thanks for the heads up, Gigi! I’ll put this one on my list!
I second this. I use Clinique Airbrush concealer and love the results for concealing the under eye area (especially when mixed with a drop of Benefit’s High Beam). For blemishes, I use a stick foundation as concealer, nothing else works for me!
I use Kanebo foundation and love the coverage so I hope their concealer covers just as well.
Thanks for the recommendation! I haven’t tried this concealer yet, but maybe I will now!
What shade did you use? I am trying to buy some on the Saks site, but they only have light listed for sale and it looks pink. I just want to make sure its actually a light beige before I shell out $30!
Thanks!
Hey Jenni! Mine says “medium.”
hey christine,
are you still using this product or have you found something better? i have the same problem with under eye circles and what im using right now isnt helping 🙁
I haven’t used this in quite awhile. I tend to skip concealer, but right now I’m testing Benefit’s Stay Don’t Stray.
Does this work for super dark under eyes circle ?
It can!
Hi everyone,
I have the worst circles and puffiness, I swear by Clinique and Lauder for skincare but have to say the Clinique concealer I hated while I love this. For a 10 difference the Sensai does a lot more, it firms, moisturizes and it covers a whole lot better than the Clinique does. I would not buy the Clinique again but this is a wonderful product.
