I always find it hard to to choose between “love it” or “leave it” with an entire collections since there are always a few things I absolutely love (at first glance, anyway) and others I wouldn’t take even if they were free. That reminds me, Christine….sometimes (often, it seems) when I “love it” or “leave it”, when I come back to the page, my “vote” still isn’t holding and I get to choose again and again and again. I am showing as logged in. I don’t understand it…

Christine Avatar

Hey Mariella,

The vote is holding – and when you click to vote again, it’s not registering your vote – it’s showing you the result but you’re not able to vote again. It’s one of the longest taking queries our page was making – basically having 40 some-odd love it/leave its checking if you voted or not every time you loaded the page = server meltdown.

I like the idea behind the image (very festive) but the model looks like a creepily realistic mannequin rather than just an overly photoshopped person.

Lena Avatar

LOL yeah, that’s Katie Holmes. I don’t understand why they even use a gorgeous (and I imagine expensive) model if they’re going to photoshop until she’s barely recognizable. *rolls eyes*

Dusty Avatar

I disagree. If I were married to crazy for that long I think I’d deserve a little Photoshopping. NAY! It would be my right to look flawless! 😉

P.S. I’m being suckered in by some of those products and I don’t usually turn my head to peek back at Bobbi Brown so… that’s interesting.

You know, I always found it funny how Bobbi Brown advocates the “naturally sexy” look and then goes and Photoshops her models to complete and total death.

And yet, that’s what is shown in the promo pic, LOL! The main reason I even continued reading this post was because of her lips, and I was curious about that one product! I could care less about Photoshopping, eyelash extensions, too-skinny models, etc., but at *least* use the actual colors in the ads…

The lipstick she is wearing is a matte true red called Hollywood Red. I don’t think this blog mentioned it. I have it on now and it is just like the picture. I believe it is still available. If not, there Is eBay.

I’m looking forward to all of Bobbi’s winter/holiday collections — really love the promo photo too, even though she’s photoshopped to kingdom come and back — it’s classy, regal, and she does look stunning!

Brenda Avatar

I love the idea and combination of colours, very festive feeling and I LOVE Old Hollywood – but honestly don’t see anything all that unique. I’m sure I’m able to recreate this with what I already have. And as someone mentioned already – a little less photo-shopping on Katie, please.

Clare Avatar

The centerpiece here looks to be the eyeshadow palette. So why is the promo spotlighting what looks to be a (gorgeous) matte red lipstick, and almost no eyeshadow? There’s no way the red lipgloss can produce that look, right?

Wwendalynne Avatar

Could they have possibly whited out Katie Holmes any further. I love pale skin, but they’ve made her look positively scarily anemic. She’s a gorgeous woman, but I hate what they have done with her for this campaign.

Hunter Avatar

She’s wearing Hollywood! For some reason this press release didn’t mention it but if you go look at the display in the store it’s what they are featuring. It’s on the BB website too.

Caroline Avatar

The eyeshadow palette certainly looks interesting, but the price tag makes my wallet go ‘ouch!’ I wonder whether I have similar colours in my repertoire already, as they look fairly dupable.
