Coconut, Olive, and Grapeseed oils for removing makeup or sometimes moisturizing. Honey as a facial and hair mask (mixed with aloe gel on my hair), lemon juice to lighten hair as a teen.

Egg whites, lemon, vinegar, honey, cucumber, tomato. I mistankenly used white vinegar once, and it over-dried my face; learn from my mistakes, kids. :,(

I use various oils as moisturizers and I’ve used stuff like eggs, yogurt, milk, avocados, honey, sugar, bananas, oatmeal, lemons, papaya, baking soda for face/hair masks and scrubs/exfoliants.

Superfine sugar and 1 drop of vanilla extract in almond or walnut oil as lip exfoliant. My go-to forever. A cup of powdered milk in my bath a lot, In addition to bubble bath, I buy the biggest box. Wet teabags on my eyes when I have allergy attack, it depuffs them. I did an egg white mask, a honey mask and avocado mayo treatment on my hair…once each. Yuk. But I love Korres Greek Yogurt Sleeping Facial, yummy smell.

I use olive oil on my very damaged, frizzy hair before applying silicone-based hair serum. It does weigh my hair down a bit, but that’s helpful in my case.

I use coconut oil as a deep conditioning treatment and also as an eye makeup remover. I use apple cider vinegar to clarify my hair a few times a month. I also use baking soda mixed with shampoo when my hair feels greasy and full of product build-up. For a face mask, I use oats mixed with a little bit of water. It is great for soothing inflamed skin!

Oats! oats oats oats, what a miracle they are. I like to soak them with lavender buds and honey in a bowl of warm water and scrub/bathe hands in the concoction before I do my nails. also wrap some oats up in gauze and float it in the bath tub for suuuuper luxuriously smooth skin! oats are such an amazing, natural moisturizer.

I use coconut oil in my hair once a month, avocado oil on my face every night, I scrub my lips with a mix of vegetable oil honey and sugar and sometimes I do a honey or apple cider vinegar rinse for my hair.

I add a few drops of grape seed oil to my night moisturizer. It makes my skin feel super soft when I wake up and helps with dark spots. Plus it’s SUPER cheap.

I go natural whenever and wherever possible. Some of things are do are:

I use olive oil mixed with tea tree oil to shave with. It gives an incredibly close shave and really saves your razor blades. I also mix it with coconut oil and several other carrier oils like jojoba and avocado along with essential oils and put on my face at night. I wake up with baby soft, glowing skin. I mix coconut oil with sugar for a lip scrub. I use honey, raw oatmeal and poppy seeds as a body & facial scrub. The honey is incredibly moisturizing.

Turmeric and plain yogurt as a face mask, mashed avocado as a hair conditioner, rosemary and a dash of white vinegar as a hair rinse, oats as a bath soak and I use medical grade manuka honey on any topical infections.

I use sweet almond oil when I make bath bombs too 🙂

Baking soda, honey and oil in my hair, oatmeal, olive oil, almond oil and yoghurt on my skin; I’ve tried the teabag on the eyes trick a couple of times. I tried a brown sugar scrub, but I’m not sure if it did much. I’m considering the coffee grounds on cellulite thing too…

Yoghurt, sugar, olive oil for my skin in the shower, coconut oil for skin and hair, oats, milk…Wayne Goss said that if your fake tan is too orange, add a couple of drops of red food dye into the bottle and shake it. Have still yet to try this – I’m a redhead now and fake tan looks atrocious with the new shade! (thank God, I got so sick of the smell >_<)

I use coconut oil regularly as a deep conditioner and treatment for my scalp (psoriasis) – also as a facial moisturizer at night and on my hands. It heals damaged skin really well for me.

Coconut oil as well, also apple cider vinegar! That stuff is awesome, for skin, hair, pretty much everything. Sometimes I use baking soda and powdered ginger in the bathtub.

I make my own eye makeup remover with olive oil, water, and baby shampoo. It works great, is cheap, and less irritating than some expensive commercial brands. I use coconut oil as a lotion for dry skin all over.

Clio Avatar

Coconut oil as a hair conditioner! BEAUTIFULLY soft results, but you need to wash it out well with a sulfate-free shampoo, or it will leave your hair very heavy and greasy.

My reasoning for using this isn’t for beauty purposes, but it actually does do some wonders. I use a sea salt scrub with coconut oil or olive oil for body exfolitation to get rid of dead skin cells for swimming. 🙂 (post shave, which is usually not a good idea) I’ve had to use olive oil to moisturize thanks to stupid chlorine.

Ground oats, ground almonds, honey, yogurt, papaya, lemon, sugar, ground coffee, coconut milk, coconut oil, avocados, citric acid, rice flour, turmeric powder, etc etc. There are countless uses for fod products in hair & skin care.

Yoghurt as face mask, cucumber on my eyes, rose water as toner, sugar to scrub the lips, salt & olive oil to scrub the body, almond&coconut&olive oil as hair mask, Avocado as face & hair mask, potato as face mask 🙂

Leticia Avatar

Yes! I’ve used yoghurt, carrot and corn starch as a face mask to cleanse and moisturize skin (it does work – it minimized breakouts 🙂 ). I´ve also used oatmeal and honey for face masks, mayonaisse as a hair mask, olive oil to soften cuticles and a hand scrub of lemon juice and sugar!
