Edward Bess Dusk Ultra Luminous Eyeshadow Review, Photos, Swatches
Edward Bess Dusk Ultra Luminous Eyeshadow
Edward Bess Dusk Ultra Luminous Eyeshadow ($30.00 for 0.07 oz.) is described as a “mossy grey.” It’s a warm-toned, medium-dark taupe–a mix of brown and gray–with a frosted finish. Disney Jaq is darker. Urban Decay Stray Dog is lighter. Urban Decay Lost is similar. See comparison swatches.
It had excellent color payoff that was true-to-color. The consistency was incredibly soft, silky, and finely-milled, so the eyeshadow applied smoothly and evenly. The texture was just ever-so-slightly powdery, but it was very minor. Dusk blended beautifully on the lid, and it could also be softened and sheered out to wear more as a wash of color as well. Without a primer, it wore well for seven and a half hours, and after eight and a half, I could see some light fading and very faint creasing.

Oooo! I want to pick this up!
beautifullll it is 🙂 my hands r itching to pick my first EB 🙂 a lipstick ma be …
As beautiful as it is, I just can’t bring myself to spend $30 on an eyeshadow single. Maybe if the money situation changes…
Christine, are the single eye shadows still part of his line? For some reason, I thought they’d been discontinued in favour of the palettes.
Hey Kate!
I think so? They’re still up on Sephora!
Gosh, this is lovely! What a luxurious neutral. Thanks for the swatches! 🙂
That is one pricey eyeshadow.
This is actually a bit more brown than I was hoping. I imagined it to be more taupe.
Warmer than I prefer my taupes but quite lovely nonetheless. The formula looks fantastic, though, so I’d have to give the other shades a look. I’ll shell out for the singles, but it has to be a shade that really catches my eye to go for it. :3
Looks great but i could never justify buying a single neutral eyeshadow when there are so many neutral palettes out there for a better value! Actually, that applies to almost any single eyeshadow unless its something totally amazing or unique.
OH my! The price. I bought two Addiction shadows…I think that is enough for me for awhile.
Oh! My all time favorite cool-tone eyeshadow since 2011 🙂
I love this shadow! It’s so great!
