SamyPure - Smooth & Shine Shampoo and Conditioner Review
SamyPure All Natural Smooth & Shine Shampoo/Conditioner ($5.99 each)
Sometimes I am skeptical about natural products, because I haven’t had the best experienes in the past with this genre of products. I am happy to say that SamyPure’s Shampoo and Conditioner system works as well as my last reviewed shampoo set by Herbal Essences. I actually found the shampoo lathered quite nicely! The scent is a pleasing spring-floral blend with just a touch of fruity sweetness underlying it (very, very subtle–not at all overwhelming).
I liked the way it felt in my hair, and it left my hair silky and smooth, which is always desirable (duh). I didn’t notice any change in my normal hair texture (I don’t have any hair problems, so I judge hair products’ effectiveness more on whether they give me hair problems), so I give this set a thumbs up.
I was thinking that it was a salon product, but in fact, it’s a drugstore product. Why did I think it was a salon product? Because it is a 100% Vegan product, which means no animal testing, no animal by-products, etc. I know several readers absolutely abhor animal testing, and some make sure that their products are Vegan-approved.
What’s great about drugstore products is you can often find a detailed list of ingredients and information about them online, like Walgreen’s has everything you need to know about this conditioner.
Since it’s vegan does that mean there are no sulfates in it? I’m trying to get away from shampoos with sulfates in them. I’ve notice more and more are coming out lately. I’ve been using a bed head shampoo I really like without sulfate in it but I like to switch shampoos once and a while.
Hey Rayanna,
The shampoo does have: Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate.
I haven’t seen the ingredients myself, but I’ve heard that Samy Pure is a sulfate-free product line.
[Also, I think sulfates are technically vegan, and there are vegan products with sulfates in them? not sure though.]
Vegan does not mean no animal testing, just no animal products used in the manufacture.
I can not find any information that Samy does not test on animals.
I have been looking for a treatment to make my hair shiny as well. I love the way Japanese women’s hair looks like silk and I wanted to do the same thing without using a straightner or gels or anything.
My salon tech recommended the Hydrate Conditioner from Shielo (called the Hydrate Vibrancy Conditioner) and it lives up to its title. It really hydrates your hair. When I finish using it, I feel and look like I have just been to the salon.
It completely gets rid of my frizz, which I tend to get a lot. I can be confident that I will have my hair conditioned just right each time I use it. It works by itself!
My hair looks shiny and soft. I love the way I highly recommend this product plus the price is something anyone can afford. Also, it smells really nice!
