What’s one makeup technique/style you can’t get the hang of? Tell us!

.

False lashes. I get them sometimes, but if I don’t nail it on the first try, I’ll fuss with them for an hour and give up! I try all the tricks to no avail!

OMG! I thought Im the only one who struggles with false lashes! I have the same exact problem Christine!
Most of the times I struggle with them for so long and use all of the techniques out there with no luck!! 🙁

Same here!!! Just yesterday, I put on the new #46 MAC lashes for work and the first one was kinda crooked in the inner corner and they both looked different and it drove me nuts so I just removed them eventually. Sometimes, I do them right the first time around, and other times, I just can’t seem to nail it!… 🙁

False lashes, smokey eye in any color style (like, what color shades go where, etc.), making a wing with eyeliner (I can do it, but it always comes out different on each eye), and rainbow eye shadow, so many tutorials on it, but I cant get the hang of it.

blush lol i know how to apply it but every time i put it on i always feel like one cheek is darker than the other. i guess i need to keep on practicing and more natural lighting.

never tried false lashes, but am sure I would suck at it!!! winged eyeliner is the look I really want and can’t get to grips with. no idea if it is me, wrong product, or what!

Tight lining because I keep on needing to go over the spots a missed and using fluidline on my bottom lash line. I can use fluidline on my top lash line but it is much harder on the bottom lash line, so I end up using a pencil liner instead.

Winged eyeliner and false eyelashes! I always end up shaking a bit when I do false eyelashes and get glue in lots of places. When I try winging out my eyeliner, the ends don’t go in the same direction. Oh well, practice, practice, practice.

Winged eyeliner. I used to wear it every day to school and it became a no-brainer but then I quit for a while and it seems I just lost my ability (a tip: always keep q-tips at hand and practice it once a day, you can wash it off afterwards and put on your actual makeup for the day but trust me, you WILL get better at it! I wore it every day for almost 2 yrs!).
Blush is an issue too… I always get too much in one place and too little in another.
Finally, getting color in the crease is difficult for me too. My 219 brush just isn’t as “sharp” as it should be. I cannot get that defined line!

But remember girls, we are our own worst critics! 🙂 You’re probably fabulous at something someone else is horrible at, right?

Yeah false lashes are my nemesis and it’ll take me a couple of attempts to get my winged eyeliner just right. Yeah i agree with Roxanne’s post above me – I wore this look out everyday in high school almost 20yrs ago and why is it now such a challenge for me? Yes, blush and contouring no matter how many times a makeup artist will show me i always feel like a raggedy ann doll after I do my blush =(

I cant apply my own blush to save my life. I look whore-rable in any shade and with skin as pale as mine my mistakes *always* show up. I cant seem to get a natural application that looks blended and pigmented on the apples at the same time. I either end up applying two very obvious stripes of pink on my face or nothing at all. -le sigh- But I believe Ill get it eventually… maybe I need to take my own brush and blush to get a makeup lesson at MAC or Sephora one of these days. :/

I cant get the hang of winged eyeliner! It looks so good on other people but I look like a clown, even if I make a small wing. The angle/size/shape never turns out the same on both eyes.

I cannot use liquid eyeliner . as for falsies, I ahve never actually tried yet, but I do feel I would have a hard time setting them right.. I am just too clumsy ^^
