Temptalia Asks You - Where do you purchase your beauty products the most?

Where do you purchase your beauty products the most? Department stores (e.g. Nordstrom, Macys), specialty stores (e.g. Sephora), online, or brand-specific (e.g. Kiehl’s, MAC)?

.

Nordstrom or brand-specific, usually!

Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. Comments alerting us to typos or small errors in the post are appreciated (!) but will typically be removed after errors are fixed (unless a response is needed).

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

Nordstrom, Sephora, and Ulta (either online or at the store). I also buy Clinique at my local Navy Exchange, because everything there is discounted for military families! 🙂

i usually only buy makeup from MAC or sephora…drug store brands dont really work well for me…I only buy from MAC dillards or macys when my MAC store is sold out.

Here in Montréal, we only have 2 good department stores who only carried luxury brands. We dont have a Sephora near, it is outside the city. We have one MAC store where i buy most of my stuff. It is sad that most of the good brands online dont ship to Québec or even Canada. And when they do, the shipping rate is outrageously high.

I live in Laval and in the Carrefour Laval, there’s a MAC store, The Bay (they have product like Too Faced that you can’t find everywhere) and a Sephora (fall 2009) so I’m quite lucky I have everyting in one place.

Pharmaprix (Shoppers Drug Mart for the rest of Canada) and it’s new franchise Murale are the Best!
As for Sephora it is a bit dispointing I’ve been a couple time in Point-Claire and the store wasn’t well keet up (bad managing I guess)

I buy 95% M.A.C so I go to either the Pro store here in NYC or the M.A.C free standing store that’s across the street from M.A.C Pro.

Same here Diedre, I go to the exact same stores! Other than MAC I purchase from Sephora and other brand specific stores such as l’occitane, Bare Escentuals and Origins. Occasionally I but from department stores or the drugstores.

sephora stores, mac stores, and mac online when things are sold out (but I don’t like that as it takes forever and I don’t love the website’s design)

Either Selfridges, Debenhams or Boots (Superdrug for High Street Brands) and then online if I definately know I want the product and don’t need to test colours.

MAC (yea for 4 The Bay counters & 3 stores w/ in a half hr driving distance!), Sephora, Shoppers Drug Mart, and just about anywhere else that sells makeup!

I buy a lot of make up on eBay, also Boots (I have their Advantage Card and get points), Superdrug (usually GOSH brushes as they’re great), Debenhams (have their Beauty Bonus card)and Mac from either online, Bentalls or House of Frazer (department stores).

The Bay and Walmart (because it’s always cheaper than shoppers drug mart) but never online because shipping to Canada is ridiculously expensive.

99% of my stuff I buy online – different online shops, specktra, etc. I also go to Sephora but that’s like once a year because Sephora is 300km away so I go there only when I’m staying at my bf’s (that’s more often but I don’t have the need to go often to Sephora).

I prefer more online shopping although I like to swatch some stuff and so but many stuff we don’t have here that I’m buying online. 🙁
