How many beauty brands do you regularly buy from? Which brands?

At least a dozen if not two or three dozen, LOL! MAC, Chanel, Guerlain, Dior, Giorgio Armani, Tom Ford, Inglot, Maybelline, Revlon, NARS, Urban Decay, Bobbi Brown, Hourglass, Make Up For Ever, Illamasqua…

Hmm…regularly is an interestingly vague sort of word.

Urban Decay and Zoya are, like, my never fail, they always have at least one new thing a season I love brands. I love Milani and buy a lot of things from them. Maybelline and Physicians Formula make what I consider daily staples, so they have to be on the list. And then I have quite a bit of Nyx, China Glaze, and Revlon.

If I were made of money, I guess I could add in Guerlain and Butter London. Though I guess being up to like ten BL polishes would be considered “regular” polish purchases to anyone that didn’t own as much polish as I do. But I’d buy more from those two if I had more disposable income.

I pretty much stick to a handful of brands on a regular basis. In the HE range, I stick to NARS, tarte, UD, Kat von D, & LORAC. I also pick up the occasional MAC or MUFE product.

As for DS, I pretty much stick to L’Oreal, Revlon, Milani, Rimmel, & WnW, with Sinful Colors rounding out the list.

Sounds like me! Make Up For Ever, Urban Decay, Revlon, NYX, Milani, Stila, Tarte, Smashbox, Dior, Chanel, Sleek, Cover Girl, L’Oreal, Estee Lauder, Cargo, Nars, Inglot, Tom Ford, Illamasqua, MAC, etc. I buy what I like and/or what works for me which in my case doesn’t cause break outs or allergic reaction.

I have products from a lot of different brands in my stash, but I don’t buy from all brands regularly. Let’s see. MAC, NARS, Urban Decay, Chanel, Guerlain, Burberry, Cle de Peau, YSL, Dior, Le Metier de Beaute, bareMinerals are the ones I buy the most. I used to get Bobbi Brown and Laura Mercier very regularly in the past, and have no idea why I stopped.

Drugstore: Maybelline, Rimmel..that’s it really!
HE: MAC, Illamasqua, Chanel, NARS, Estee Lauder, Tom Ford, Hourglass, Guerlain…

For some reason I barely touch Dior, Burberry, Benefit, Bobbi Brown, Armani, Elizabeth Arden, Shiseido etc. I’ve always wondered why…the other day I figured it might be because most of the stuff I buy is reviewed well by NikkiTutorials, Pixiwoo, Wayne Goss, Tanya Burr and you Christine! Especially Ms Burr. She is LETHAL to my wallet. Love her so much <3

Linda Avatar

My regularly used:
Hourglass (primer)
Shiseido (foundation)
Armanai (concealer, mascara)
Chanel (cream blush, lipsticks)
Burberry (bluse)
D+G (blush)
Laura Mercier (translucent setting powder, secret brightening powder, blush)
LORAC (eyelid primer, eyeshadows)
MAC (eyeshadows)
Nars (eyeshadows)
Lancome (liquid eyeliner, top)
Tarina Tarantino (eye pencil, bottom)
Guerlain (bronzer, lipsticks)

Ooh, that’s a lot for current rotation, and I’ve probably forgotten something. But I’m not a “brand” loyalty type:).

Kristina Avatar

Too many! L’Oreal, Lancome, Dior, Chanel, Too Faced, NARS, Givenchy…and then there are the nail polish brands, and that is a whole other ball game! I think I need to go on a beauty budget!! 🙂

Kristy Avatar

Mostly NARS, Urban Decay, Dior, and Too Faced, but I also like Estee Lauder when they get really edgy (i.e., last fall’s Violet Underground, which I loved). Recently I picked up some Kardashian Beauty products (okay, don’t laugh) because their mascaras are amazing!

Mariella Avatar

Alarmingly, I came up with 25 (27 if you include Ole Henriksen and Erno Laszlo – I only buy particular individual products from them). I was a bit shocked when I started to list my “regulars” (and this doesn’t include hair or nail items or Real Techniques, which only sells brushes).

Mariella Avatar

Okay, since folks are listing their regulars, I will also. I purchase a mix of makeup and skin care from: MAC, Clarins, Nars, Urban Decay, Guerlain, Stila, Tarte, Too Faced, TheBalm, Sephora (they’re really improving), Hourglass, NYX, Bare Minerals, Revlon (love their lip butters), Marcelle, GOSH, Pur Minerals and IT Cosmetics (I can’t go on – it’s just too embarrassing!). Tarina Tarantino would be on this list (I have Christine to thank for that addition!) but her products are no longer available in Canada!

Lauren Avatar

A lot, LOL! Mostly MAC, Clinique, Nars, Urban Decay, NYX, Make Up For Ever, Too Faced, Lorac, Revlon, Maybelline, Sally Hansen, Essie, Wet n’ Wild, Giorgio Armani (perfume only), and Sephora (Brand).

Julia Avatar

Bobbi Brown, MAC, Urban Decay, NARS, Guerlain, and Dior. Mostly Bobbi and MAC. They are the two brands that have complexion products I can use. Urban Decay and MAC are where I get most of my color products from (ie eyeshadow, lipstick, and blush). The others are where I get different bits and bobs like primers, bronzer, lipstick, etc.

Rachel Holbrook Avatar

I will buy more regularly from the drugstore than I will from high-end stores like Sephora. Maybelline, Revlon and L’Oreal have brought out some fantastic products recently so they’re always my go-to brans when I visit the drugstore. For high-end brands, I love NARS for their blushes, MAC eyeshadows, Urban Decay for their new NAKED launches… the list goes on!

Precious Avatar

I’ve never counted but here goes: Anna Sui, Artdeco, Bobbi Brown, Burberry, Chanel, Clarins, Clinique, Dior, Estee Lauder, Giorgio Armani, Givenchy, Guerlain, La Mer, La Prairie, Lancome, Laura Mercier, MAC, Make Up For Ever, NARS, Shiseido, Shu Uemura, Smashbox, Tom Ford, Urban Decay, Yves Saint Laurent. 🙂

Kate Avatar

I try to spread the love around…

Most frequently: Nars, Chanel, Guerlain

Less frequently but still regularly: Armani (would be included with the most frequent, except that the one counter here is less conveniently located), Urban Decay, YSL, Hourglass, Bobbi Brown, Dior, Inglot, Mac, Rouge Bunny Rouge, Le Metier de Beaute (those last two would be more frequent if I could shop for them in person)

Veronica Avatar

I’m by no means brand loyal, but the bulk of my collection is Revlon, MAC, NARS, and Urban Decay. I’ve got a decent amount of Chanel, Estee Lauder, and Bobbi Brown mixed in, as well, and one or two items from scattered brands here and there. Most of my setting/finishing powders are Guerlain, and I’m sure if I had more extraneous income, that number would be higher. 😉

samkulansky Avatar

There are many brands I love, I get different things from them, I pick and choose—
Armani, Laura Mercier, Chanel, Burberry, MAC, Laura Geller and Deborah Lippmann are my recent loves. For skin care it’s Kate Somerville and Dermalogica, good old fashioned Cetaphil too! If I were to take inventory I’d probably get scared LOL!!!

VickyM Avatar

I guess regularly for me would mean from what brands I buy when I buy beauty products and I would have to say it would be Chanel, that I have quite a few products from, Mac and Ysl. I also have a few products from Guerlain, Lancôme, Givenchy and Dior. That is pretty much all I buy from.

Jessi Avatar

I’m a very brand loyal type, for whatever reason. MAC for makeup almost exclusively, best price to fashion/innovation ratio for me. I used Clarins for skincare exclusively for more than 15 years, then I switched a few products over to Rodial. For nail polish, Orly and China Glaze are my favorites.

I’m glad I don’t have the bug for more brands – I buy enough makeup as it is!

Asia C. Avatar

I have 6 go to brands. Tom Ford (the best), YSL, Giorgio Armani, Le Metier de Beaute, Nars and Guerlain. I find the quality is pretty consistent with these brands and i enjoy alot of their perm products. I use to love Dior and Chanel, but too many disappointing products within the last couple of years, I decided not to take the risk and stick with what I now will work.

Gina Avatar

tarte, MAC, benefit, LUSH, urban decay, lancome, laura mercier, josie maran, too faced, make up for ever, NARS, ulta, sephora brand, lorac, becca, stila, dior, chanel, butter london, essie, apothia (lotion and perfume)

Anne-Laure Avatar

I always go back to the same brands… but never counted them!
Make Up For Ever and Guerlain are my absolute all time favourites, Clinique and Chanel for some products, and I recently added Benefit and Urban Decay. Oh, and of course OPI for nail polish!

Adele Avatar

I own a few pieces from a lot of brands, but only consider a few brands with anything close to regularity – Dior, Armani, Rouge Bunny Rouge. And Hakuhodo, I guess, if brush brands count!

Amanda Avatar

I usually stick with Urban Decay because they never disappoint me. But I regularly buy lipstick from Mac, and I also love Tarte. So I’d say those are my favorite brands, UD surpassing the other two by leaps and bounds haha

Stephanie Avatar

I always buy Lancome, NARS, Dior, Chanel, Burberry, Koh Gen Do (Japanese Brand) Bliss Cosmetics (Australia Brand), Etude House, Too Faced, Urban Decay, Milani, Revlon, and Covergirl.

Maja Avatar

The brands I buy the most from are NARS, Chanel, and MAC. I also purchase a lot from Urban Decay, Hourglass, YSL, and lately, Giorgio Armani.

Marina Avatar

– Foundation – MUFE 130
– Concealer – Nars in Honey
– Blush – Nars and Chanel
– Eyeliner – UD 24/7
– Eye shadow – Nars and UD
– Mascara – Lancome Doll Lashes or Armani Eyes to Kill
– Lip colour- Armani, Guerlain and Nars
– Lip balm – Jack Black and Korres
– Powder – MUFE or Hourglass

I’m very faithful to products in general, as you can see. Even when dealing with nail polishes, where I tend to be less conservative, I have my favorites ChinaGlaze, TheBalm, Nails Inc and SpaRitual.

Kristen Avatar

I’d say I’m pretty loyal to a handful of brands:

Urban Decay (most items), Tarte, Dermalogica, Revlon, Maybelline, OPI….

I buy a few random items here and there from other brands, but these brands never really let me down.

Carole Eisemann Avatar

only one brand – Bare Escentuals/Bare Minerals.

Everything, skin care, cleansers, exfoliants, foundation, moisturizer, mascara, the whole enchilada is all BE!

zainab Avatar

Most of my makeup is MAC, Inglot, Urban Decay and Rimmel. I also own a few Illamasqua products, and a sprinkle of other brands. If I had more money I’d buy more NARS and Guerlain too (when I wasn’t worshipping at the altar of MAC…).
What’s surprising to me is all the Inglot stuff I own, because every palette represents a trip interstate…

It’s odd though, because some brands never tempt me, even when they’re easily available and (kind of) affordable.

brittney Avatar

I really only regularly buy from MAC or Urban Decay. I do have a few products from Tarte and Lancôme that I love. If I’m buying nail polish I do pretty much stick with Chanel (I work at a department store and get a pretty great discount so it makes the splurge a little less painful to my wallet lol.) If I get any makeup from a drug store its usually just Cover Girl mascara because they have some pretty good ones that aren’t overly expensive.

Rachael Avatar

Revlon, Rimmel, Quo, Maybelline, Annabelle, L’oreal, Clinique, Estee Lauder, MAC, Elizabeth Arden, Dior, Guerlain, theBalm, Nars … I guess that’s about 14-(ish).

doroffee Avatar

What do we mean by regularly? But, if I count the brands I have bought things from for three times or more, they are: Essence, Catrice, Rimmel, Guerlain, L’oreal, Avon, Aden, Lora (but from that brand, I’ve stopped buying stuff), Miss Rose, Miss Sporty, Maybelline, OPI, Rose Nail, Manhattan…

Laura Avatar

I’d say MAC, Urban Decay, Clinique, Clarins, Illamasqua, China Glaze, OPI, and Barry M are the ones I most regularly buy from. After those it’s Estee Lauder, NARS, Butter London, Essie, Revlon and No.7, although I have bits and pieces from lots of other brands. For example, I love Kat Von D but we can’t get her makeup in the UK so I only have a few palettes.

Mallory Avatar

I have my specific products that I buy from different brands that are my holy grail products
Rimmel, WetnWild, NYX, NYC, MAC, Benefit, Chanel, Shiseido, Hourglass, and Dior – you can fit my entire make up collection into these brands, some of the high end brands I only have one or two products that I buy from regularly, except MAC…I buy everything from there…it’s a problem.
