Pacifica Purify Coconut Water Cleansing Wipes Review & Photos

Pacifica Purify Coconut Water Cleansing Wipes ($6.00 for 30) are designed for gently cleansing skin and “[reviving] skin and [removing] dead cells.” Pacifica says they can be used to remove makeup, but “[they] do not use chemical solvants, [so] they will not remove the most water-proof make-up.” I appreciate the honesty there, though I did use it to remove regular makeup and felt it did an excellent job moving all bits and traces of my foundation, eye makeup (including mascara), and lipstick. None of what I’ve worn is really waterproof (except maybe eyeliner), so whether it has a place in your routine will depend on whether you want it to break down waterproof makeup, too.

Each wipe was extremely saturated with cleanser, even though the package had been sitting face-up so the first wipe was the top wipe, which was still saturated and wet. A lot of times, I store makeup wipes upside down so that the first wipe you remove has been on the bottom staying its most moist, but with these, I didn’t need to do that. I’ve been using these here and there for the past three weeks, and I’ve used a third of the amount in the package. These also had a harder, plastic “seal” over the resealable plastic flap, so they should stay wet.  They smell like lightly sweetened coconut, but the scent doesn’t linger.

At this price point ($0.20/each), they’re comparable or cheaper than wipes by brands like Aveeno ($0.28/each), Neutrogena ($0.28/each), and Almay ($0.24). Ponds has a value pack, which brings down the cost to $0.16. I normally use MAC’s Makeup Removing Wipes ($0.29/each), and I seriously have six 100-packs in my house at all times–they’re my go-to for removing swatches, but I can’t use them on my eyes often (on my cheeks and lips are fine), so I really like that I can use these all over.

Do you know where it says that? I just went to the product page and did a search for “eye” but didn’t see anything except a mention in one of the customer reviews. I don’t have the outer box any more, so maybe it said it there but I don’t remember reading that.

I found that they smell more like play dough than coconut… and i’m pretty sensitive to smells and do find that the scent lingers for awhile on my face. But again SUPER sensitive to smells here.

I have these and to use them occasionally is fine, but if I use them even two days in a row they burn the $@*! out of my eyes!!! Good for playing around and swatching though. I wish I’d known they burned my eyes before I bought a ton. They do remove mascara better than my comodynes ones but those are more sensitive so I’ll stick with the comodynes.

I bought these. Used them twice and realized they did not do anything at all for me. They took a little make up off, but I wouldn’t trust them to get all my makeup off. I threw them to the side and just went back to my Neutrogena ones… I actually threw these ones away the other day LOL. They did smell good, though.

I love everything about these! I actually just used up my last one last night, so I will be heading to Target soon. I’m so glad Target carries Pacifica now!

Definitely picking these up, thanks for the review! I purchased the face cleanser after your review and love it. I still can’t believe how cheap it is.

I love Pacifica so much. Their Coconut Crushed Pearls Bronzing Body Butter is heavenly, and I can’t help not throwing any of the pretty packages that their products comes in away! However, I’m a SUCKER for The Balm’s makeup remover gelly stuff–best makeup remover I’ve ever used hands down and I doubt I’ll ever switch!

I bought these awhile back after going cruelty-free. It didn’t take me long to realize that these were burning the bloody bejesus out of my face and eyes. It felt as though I had rubbed sandpaper all over and then poured salt in the wounds. It was bad. Sent them to a friend with a completely different skin type (I’m normal/sensitive, she’s super oily), and she had the same experience. Read some reviews online, and found that a good deal of people have issues with these.

I usually get the original ponds for face esp the value packs and only a few mostly HE have worked better. Have you tried plain old babywipes for the swatches? Supercheap!

I keep these at my work desk and other areas I tend to eat. It’s not a super effective makeup wipe for me, but man do these wipes get dirt and foodstuff from my hands when there’s no sink nearby. For makeup I get a lot of my regular (NOT waterproof) makeup off. I like using the Pacifica wipes when I travel if I know my little packet of travel makeup wipes didn’t do a good job. The travel makeup wipe packets dry super fast for no reason =(

These packets get extra points because they smell like a coconut based drink I should have by the pool.

After reading some of the other experiences, I think I will pick these up. I picked up the Pacifica face wash after you reviewed it and I absolutely love it! However since I travel a lot, its nice to have something quick and handy (especially after flying).

Have you had a chance to try their BB cream?

I’ve been using these wipes for a few months now and they are AMAZING! I have sensitive skin and eyes and they don’t irritate at all. The scent is very strong coconut, but it fades. The lid definitely keeps the wipes moister for longer. Great stuff 🙂
