Cut a small piece of garlic and rub it on spot. Then just wait for 10 minutes or so and then rinse with water. The smell may stay for a while but the pimple is not there the next day 🙂
Wow, I never thought of that, yet I’m not too astonished because garlic is full of virtues. I’ll try it out if I have a pimple (unfortunately, it almost never happens – I have no trick to share). I ADORE the taste of fresh garlic in food and it’s powerfully good for health. Thanks for the tip! 🙂
I started to spot treat with toothpaste and cover it up with a small round bandaid so it won’t smear on my pillow when I sleep…but I noticed it can be very drying on the spot I put it on so I make sure to moisturize those areas REALLY WELL
I think it’s working but not too sure since I’m also using other home remedy tricks to help my skin recover from some serious MAC damage I went through
I apply 5% AHA on it 🙂
A little Avène Diacnéal works wonders for me, the blemish is almost gone the next day if I use this stuff.
I use to use the Spot treatment by avon but now I use Honey mask
I use tea tree essential oil.
i use Benzaclin. It’s a prescription benzoyl peroxide gel, but a little dab and the zit is gone the next day.
toothpaste!
I use turaround cream by clinique and works pretty good.
Tea Tree Oil works really well for me and I’ve been using it for years. If you find it too drying try wetting a q-tip first and then putting oil on the q-tip and then apply directly.
Toothpaste!!! Although I’m not sure if it actually works or not LOL. I do want to try the garlic thing though that someone else mentioned!
Tea tree oil diluted with mineral oil (also very good for piercings that are angry, too!).
OMG, Jess! No offense, but putting mineral oil on a zit is just plain DUMB. It seriously clogs pores and is terrrible for your skin. I think if you just diluted the tea tree oil with water you’d get much better zit-zapping results.
I use Clean and Clear’s spot treatment for my zits. 🙂
The Body Shop’s Tea Tree Oil 🙂
Pinch it and put some cleanser on it ;P I’m lucky, I don’t get scars from pinching pimples, so for me it just makes them go away in a day or two.
pretending it’s not there and SMILE! 😀
extract it carefully (i’m an esthetician; don’t try this at home!!) and dab some aveda balancing infusion for acne/oily skin. 🙂 an hour later, there’s nothing!
Even gentle extraction can leave scars – promise you. Please don’t do this to your skin! NEVER EXTRACT. Apply a carrier oil that penetrates the skin (tea tree oil is best) along with whatever medication you want to deliver to the infected area (benzoyl peroxide is my choice).
Since I can’t leave them alone, I pop the hell out if it and hit myself afterwards 😀
But if I have something important thing coming up, I put some toothaste on it and hope for the best..
I Zeno it and then use a benzol peroxide cream (Oxy or Spectro). At night I dab on some Pro Activ mask. Then to hide it I use MAC Studio Finish concealer.
I use my Zeno and/or toothpaste as well.
I apply Proactiv Refining Mask as an overnight spot treatment. Or if I don’t have any, I use the Queen Helene’s Mint Julep Mask as an overnight spot treatment.
Girls, toothpaste is the CHEAPEST way to ease the redness and it actually SHIRNKS the pimple. I’ve done it so many times. Just rub a bit on the pimple before you go to bed. Never pop it and don’t touch it either, it gets bigger.
Toothpaste works well when left over night.
I usually just ignore it, unless there is a whitehead.. Then I pop it and put a dab of concealer on it.
I use Clearasil Acne Control, acne treatment cream in vanishing (they have a tinted one too). You can get it at your local drug store for like $6. At night I load it up after washing my face and during the day I put a bit on under my foundation if need be. Works like a charm.
I recently tried the DermaDoctor spot treatment and it has been working really well!
Body Shop’s Vitamin E Intense moisture cream, Vichy’s concentrated blemish treatment and a prayer xD
i use clean & clear persagel10 for the morning, and at night i either put toothpaste on it, or a dab of queen helen mint julep mask
(all affordable methods)
Neosporin or any triple antibiotic ointment.
But if it isn’t completely gone by that day, I dab a bit of Visine or Clear Eyes on it to reduce the redness and make it easier to cover. ;D
OMG – I can’t believe all of the people who use toothpaste, and I had never even heard of that. More details please. Does it matter if it is gel or not?
I treat mine by using an acne tool I got at Sephora. After a warm shower, use a lance to pop it carefully, and a loopy metal end to push the gunk out (more comes out than popping with your nails). Use an ice pack to keep swelling down.
dont worry kristin you are not missing out on much. using toothpaste on pimples is more of a beauty myth than anything else. in fact toothpaste can be irritating to the skin and leave scars. for further reading check out: http://www.healthcentral.com/skin-care/c/38641/20622/work-pimples
I can’t believe so many ppl are using toothpaste too. I use %5 benzoyl peroxide by clean and clear. It works if you catch it early!
Like the infomercial says — a dab of the Proactiv Pore Refining Mask! It usually either totally shrinks it or completely gets rid of any redness. It’s loaded with sulfur, I think that’s why it works. The stuff is gold!
I’m surprised no one has mentioned Zapzyt. It’s a miracle worker! And the best part is that it’s only around $3. I put it on the pimple at night time and by morning it’s basically cleared up 😀
i will soak a cotton pad with Origins’s A Perfect World Toner.. and put on the pimples for 5 to 10 mins..
the pimples will be gone next day! it’s miracle! 🙂
Toothpaste!
Zeno, Neotrogena spot treament plus Benzoyl Peroxide 10%. Yes, it’s harsh, but it works!
tea tree oil from trader joes
and toothpaste from my cabinet! lol
ick..I used toothpaste when I was 18 I think, and it burned!!! At 30, I find tea tree oil from the health food store or Thayer’s Witch hazel applied generously before bed. Most redness and swelling is gone. NEVER pick at them!!! I am going to try the garlic trick that was first mentioned 🙂
I use tea tree oil from Body Shop before sleeping and Boo Boo Zap from Benefit or Kiehl’s Blue Herbal Spot Treatment during the day and it works !!!
I use toothpaste &/or Benzagel 5%: http://shopping.canoe.ca/ss/media/2154000/2154407.jpg
