Make Up For Ever #52 Aqua Cream Review, Photos, Swatches

Make Up For Ever #52 Aqua Cream ($23.00 for 0.21 oz.) is described as a “blue green shimmer.” It’s a rich, emerald green with a frosted shimmer-sheen finish. Milani Green Safari is a brighter, warmer green. Wet ‘n’ Wild Bright Idea is duller. Wet ‘n’ Wild Earth Looks Small From Down Here is similar but less frosted. Urban Decay Graffiti is comparable but a powder product. Inglot #385 is matte, so it is much darker in appearance.

#52 is very pigmented, but it is also buildable, depending on how much product you apply. It starts off with a creamy, glide-on consistency that remains blendable for fifteen to thirty seconds (so work quickly). Once it sets, it doesn’t budge, smudge, or move–it won’t blend, either, if you wait too long. I recommend applying in thin layers to build up the color to avoid potentially applying too much, because it can sometimes clump in places if applied too heavily (making your eyelids look dry and flaky).  I tested #52 for twelve hours, and I didn’t experience any fading, smudging, or creasing during that time.

I’m so tempted to get this but I bought the Icy Mint Color Tattoo by Maybelline and fear the’re too similar – especially since I pretty much only use these as eyeshadow bases.

Beautiful colour, but i find aqua creams to have a strange scent plus, they are soo hard to work with because they dry so fast.

Hey Christine! Can this be used as a gel liner with an angled brush?

Maybe using a white base to make the color pop.. would look awesome! xx
