Looks - Ultra Black Smoky Eye, Easy Smoky Eye
I felt like doing a super dark eye, which I didn’t execute as well as I would have liked, but it’s just something so dramatic and fun, I couldn’t resist not taking photos!
I used Blacktrack fluidline all over lid, Carbon eyeshadow all over lid, Vex eyeshadow above crease and on brow, Feline kohl power on lower lash line, and Pink Opal pigment on lower lash line. I wore Don’t Be Shy blush with Sculpt sculpting powder to contour and Micro Pink beauty powder to highlight. I had Strawberry Blonde lipstick with Lull lipglass.
Love the Catwoman snarl at the end! Too cute!
LOL! Thanks, Rebekah! I thought I’d throw in a silly one 😉
ooo, you look so cool. you’re like from a matrix movie. that pink opal pigment makes a difference even just at the lower lash line. kind of makes it a nice feminine smokey eye instead of the basic black and white bold strong smokey eye.
Thank you! Haha! Yes, it’s amazing what a little whitish coloring can do to the look. Sometimes I use Shell CCB, which is pretty silvery white, and it’s nice, too.
You are so beautiful with this dramatic look.
Well done Christine!
Thank you, Marcia!! 🙂
Gorgeous, both the makeup and you!
Thanks, Bjooti! 🙂
gorgeous i love this! Last week i did ur smokey eye using the fluidline as a base (i used clinique creamliner though) i loved it and it didn’t budge!
Thanks, Kris! Oh, man, gel liners as a base, a godsend!
last shot is priceless!! love the look beautiful!
lol! Thanks Lala!
this is such a gorgreous look on you!
Thank you, Nunu!
*laughs at the last picture* Grrrrrr eh?
Something like that, lol 😉
Hi Christine! I notice you use the Sculpt and Shape all the time. What is this for? I looked it up on the MAC website to understand what it does and can’t quite get it. Where on your face do you use it? Maybe I should check it out. Thanks!
Hey Shefali! They’re to contour the face – I use it to contour my cheeks and make them stand out a bit more 🙂 There’s a tutorial on how to use them in the Tutorial – Face section!
I like the last pic hehe 😉
lol, thanks Moon!
You look gorgeous, love the last pic…lol
lol, thank you, Delidee!
Thats beautiful, I learned how to do smokey eyes from you! The fluidline does wonders.
Thanks, Ashlee! 😀 Fluidline is the BEST!
You look lovely as always 🙂 Very pretty shadow!
Thank you so much, Stacey!
BTW I see purple color umm in crease, did you use purple e/s or is that color be-coz of the blending? and if its eyeshadow what is the name? thanks
Hey Moon! It’s because of the blending 🙂 That’s Dark Edge eyeshadow!
Thaaaanks
ps.sorry for the stupid question 🙂
No question is stupid, hun!!
OMG. I LOVE THE COLOURS. my fave colour is purple and the black just compliments it. sexy chic and daring! aaaahhh J’ADORE CHRISTINE!
Thanks, Hannika!! 😀 I adoreeee Vex with a smoky eye. I think I never use it unless it’s with black!
P.S. tutorial on this look s’il vous plait. : )
http://www.temptalia.com/tutorial-black-smokey-eye
is what I have for now, but I will try to update it with Vex sometime soon!
OMG I must check out Strawberry Blonde lipstick with Lull lipglass next time I am at MAC. I adore the colors, so cute and pink 🙂
If you can get them, you should, but Strawberry Blonde is pretty old and it was LE 🙁 N3 is close, though, actually!
SOO very pretty!! You look hot.
Thanks, Naomi!!
I love smokey eyes. The possibilities are endless. I looks great on you. MAC´s Carbon e/s it´s one of the best in the market.
You look Rock-n-Roll Gorgeous! =D
Me too, Beda! Carbon is one of my favorite shadows!
Thanks!
beautiful!! i love all kinds of smokey eye but i never can find a really good black eye shadow … i got a few some more expensive some less and they all look bad on the eyelid i mean they are like kinda transparent and i cant use them too much cause then you know how it looks … anyway very beautiful make up, good job like always!!!
Thanks, Camilla!! 🙂 MAC Carbon is an amazing black, IMO!
Love the last pic of you. Fierceness.
This is definently a look to try out for a night on the town.
Thanks, JackA! 😀 I thought I’d throw something different in for fun!
black/grey looks and pink looks (like in the look before this one) really work great for you
Thank you, Bart 😀
can you recommend colors similar to don’t be shy, strawberry blonde, and lull that are a part of the permanent line/would work on darker skin like nc 35-37? I really like this look and would like to try and recreate it!
Well Dressed is similar to Don’t Be Shy. N3 from N is close to Strawberry Blonde, and Sweetie is similar, though a bit cooler. Lull, well, I can’t really think of a dupe for 🙁
I think it was executed quite well Christine! And love the last photo, you silly girl you!!
Thanks, Mrs. Lynne 😀
I really loved your smoked eyes! I´ll try to copy it =) I mean the whole look is beautiful, congrats! =)
Thank you so much 😀 I hope it works for you!!
Love this look.
Thank you so much, Stephanie!!
I love Pink Opal with this look! You look stunning 🙂
Thanks, Janis! I knew I had to use it somewhere for this look!
So HOT!!! Love this Look!
Thank youuuu Badkitty!!
You are gorgeous? What is your ethnicity? Filipino…mixed with something Latin?? Just fyi…I am 🙂 What kind of brush do you use to put eyeshadown on the lower eyelash area?
Thank you! I’m half Vietnamese, quarter German, and a quarter Swiss 🙂
I used the 219 for that!
pure SEX!!
do you think a fair skinned girl like me (with cool undertones) could pull this look off?
Thank you!! Yes, I do, I really do 🙂
Love the smoky eye – especially the light pinkish/purple effect of Vex on the brow and that lipstick looks great on you 🙂
Thanks, tonee!! 🙂 I love the monochromatic smoky eye, but adding color is fun, too!
HUN U L00K S000 **FiERCE** iN UR LAST PIC HEHE. S0 AD0RABLE. iM S0 HAPPY KUZ i HAVE THE FLUIDLINE. BUT NOT THE VEX =( BUT iT’Z OK!! i HAVE A QUAD FR0M MiLANi THAT’S ALMOST THAT COLOR. S0 i CAN CREATE THAT SAME L00K WiTH LiTTLE DiFFERENCE!! YAY!! THANX TEMPTALiA!!
Hey hun! Thank you so much 🙂 Vex is a great duochrome, but I’m sure the Milani one is a great dupe!
I’M SO IN LOVE. IT’S VERY SULTRY…. TUTORIAL PLEEEEEEASE!!
Thank you! I will try 🙂 For now, there is this one that is similar: http://www.temptalia.com/tutorial-black-smokey-eye.
Oh my god, This look is gorgeous and you look so beautyful!!!
I love the smoky eye!
Thank you so much, Ross! You’re too kind!
Best look ever!!! 😮 i´m in love with it!! I´ll try to do the same look but i will use existencial paint with dark sould pigment and softwash grey piggie.
I love the lips, are Strawberry Blonde lipstick and Lull lipglass available right now? If they aren´t, which colours could replace them?
Thanks in advance
Thank you, Virginia!! I think it’ll turn out great with the products you listed!
They were both limited edition, so I doubt either are available (especially Strawberry Blonde). I would suggest Sweetie lipstick as a permanent color (though Strawberry Blonde is a warmer, brighter medium pink) with Decorative lustreglass. Lull is still available on the US MAC site, though.
Thank you so much honey
strawberry blonde is similar to n3? now im even MORE EXCITED to get it lol! it’s coming tomorrroowwww the anticipation is killing me!!!
In Spain we don´t have The originals collection yet, so imaging how anxious i am!!
It’s close! Strawberry Blonde is a bit brighter with peachy undertones, but I think N3 is a good dupe for it, especially with how it looks in this particular look!
very cute.
Thanks, Addicted_2color!
The Pink Opal pigment on your lower lashline adds just enough glam to this dark look. Great job!!
Thanks again, Ariele! I also loved what Pink Opal added to the look 🙂 I’m so glad I remembered to put it!
You look gorgeous, your eyes look amazing!!!! I feel this is one of your best looks!
Thank you so much!!
This is my favourite look of yours ever, I really love it! The colours are beautiful.
Thanks so much Alex 😀
i love the way this has a hint of pink… how would you use the pink opal pigment for a daytime look?
Thanks, Laura 🙂 I’d use it all over the lid and use it with pinks or purples for the day time.
i tried these smoky eyes with hue lipstick and tenderling blusher … cant seem to find the dont be shy blush anywhere … tenderling is so nice with this look doe its nice or subtle … or even lillicent creme blush for a softer look.any other options for lips and cheeks for dis look????
Hey EMW! Hue lipstick is a great idea. You could try Well Dressed blush instead of Don’t Be Shy.
or underage lipglass mite be nice with it … hmmmm.
Yes, that’s not a bad idea, either. Really, any nude lip will work!
Really waw!!!
Thanks, Tinneke!!
Wow! That’s so hot! I do a similar look with Beauty Marked eyeshadow, but I like this one way more. Gorgeous!
Hey Lisa! 🙂 Oh, I bet it’s really pretty with Beauty Marked!
you are so beautiful 🙂
Thank you, Ann!
You’re making me want that Lipglass… I love pale pink against my dark skin!
It’s a great lipglass, Marsadie!
Last pic: Fierce
Love it!
Thanks so much, Valerie 😀

ONE MORE THING. I CANT FIND THE FELINE KOHL. IM GUESSING ITS DISCONTINUED. ANYTHING YOU KNOW PRETTY CLOSE TO IT?
It is LE, though it’ll be returning later on this year. But try Graphblack technakohl instead.
hi! im just wondering what are the matching colours if im looking for them in NYX?
thanks!
it looks fabulous ! i love your site!
I’m not familiar with NYX so I can’t help you, I’m really sorry!
just wondering what brush you use to get the fluidline to apply evenly all over your lid?
266!
I like this makeup, it’s really a good look for holidays. I’m blonde and I usually try to use dark colors when I have special occasions.
Thanks so much, Tavia 😀
I love it, very sexy hon!!
Thanks, Christine!
Gorgeous look! And I adore the last pic! ;D
Thank you! 😉
You look absolutely incredible, Christine! I’m not sure how it would look on me since I’m an NW15, but this is a fantastic look. I’m definitely going to buy all of the eye makeup after the holidays.
I stand by the fact that this look rocks even harder on paler skin!!
Thank you!
You look freakin amazing with a dark eye
Thanks, Stephanie!
