5 Ways to Feel Beautiful for Less

5 Ways to Feel Beautiful for Less

Only a Woman’s World is all about making better choices and feeling good about yourself. Sometimes with all of the beauty products available, I forget there are simpler ways that I can do every day to make myself feel beautiful inside and out. These are just five of my favorites!

Drink more water. If you’re not drinking at least eight glasses of water a day, you’re not drinking enough to keep your body well hydrated. Drinking your daily dose of water keeps skin looking its best: supple, soft, and glowing.

Exfoliate regularly. Skin can look dull and tired when not all of your dead skin cells slough off, which is why regular exfoliation is key. You can use anything from a mild facial scrub to an at-home remedy. You can use products such as an aspirin mask (crushed aspirin mixed with a bit of water and honey) or just baking soda with a little bit of water to make a paste. All items you likely have at home, so you won’t have to spend big bucks to get great looking results.

Get three more tips!

Take a little more time getting ready. Think about going to bed a half hour earlier or rising a half hour earlier. This way you can give yourself a few more minutes to get ready for your day. Spend extra time on your favorite ritual, whether it’s standing under the hot shower or doing your makeup.

Compliment yourself at least three times a day. It’s important for us to remember that we are powerful, beautiful women, and why wait for someone else to say something? We have to believe and be confident in ourselves and what we can do. Whenever I feel down, I tell myself what I’ve accomplished lately, what goals I’ve reached.

Do something indulgent. Give yourself an at-home pedicure, lather your hands and give yourself a massage… do something that’s decadent and relaxing. Find little ways to de-stress and do them as part of your “getting ready for bed” ritual.

What do you do to feel beautiful without blowing the bank?

Excellent tips! I use baking soda all over my body once a week – it leaves your skin so soft and it’s cheap!

Here are mine:

Fresh Flowers!
Become a regular at your local florist. Buying a small bouquet of flowers once a week will cheer you infinitely and costs less than eating out. If you’re on a budget state it when you walk in. You’ll be amazed at the variety of flowers you’ll see for under $10 a week. You also will learn a lot about flowers – just ask questions. 🙂 And if you can’t commit to $10 a week for flowers, make a one time investment in a plant. I have a succulent I bought a few months ago for 6.99 and it is happy and cheerfully sitting on my bookcase. I bought a bright pot for it and repotted it.

Perfume!
I’m sure many of us ladies have at least one bottle of perfume lying around that we never remember to wear. If you make a conscious effort to apply perfume in the morning it is a simple treat that you can enjoy all day. I put it behind my ears – when you turn your head quickly you’ll get a whiff throughout the day. Avoid putting it on your wrists because you’ll wash it off when you wash your hands. If you want it on your arms, try your inner elbow – it’ll last longer.

Makeup Alley Swaps!
Recently I’ve discovered the unfortunate displeasure of wanting to try things and being broke as a joke. So I cleaned out my beauty supplies and found tons of things I don’t use. So I put them on my swap list. I got so many awesome things!!! I swapped my old MSFs that I don’t like or don’t work for me for new, different ones. I swapped a bottle of Armani Code, which I never wore, for a bottle of Coco Mademoiselle, which I was almost out of, but was too broke to buy new.

Shop your stash!
While cleaning out my goodies to find things to swap I found some things I didn’t even remember I had! Great surprise and it’s like trying something new.

Nail care!
Manicures are so cheap at home. I’ve recently committed to keeping my nails polished for the past few months and it makes such a difference. Having pretty, delicate hands really makes me feel super cute and girly.

How about going for a walk (or run) outside – releases feel good endorphins, encourages positive body image and gets blood circulating for a gorgeous glow. Just don’t forget the SPF…
