5 Shimmery Red Nail Polishes

5 Shimmery Red Nail Polishes

Red nail polish may be the most popular shade–it seems like every collection that launches, no matter the season, has to have some sort of red-hued shade.  There are all sorts of reds, to be sure, but these are five of my current favorite shimmery (true) reds! 🙂

What’s your favorite shimmery red nail polish?

Please keep discussion on-topic, and if you have general feedback, a product review request, an off-topic question, or need technical support, please contact us!

Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. Comments alerting us to typos or small errors in the post are appreciated (!) but will typically be removed after errors are fixed (unless a response is needed).

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

Red is the one color I usually wear a cream finish when I do wear it. I am very warm toned and reds can be tricky for me sometimes. I do have a red shimmer. Essie’s After Sex, which leans quite pink red on me but I like it in the summer.

I asked a laquerhead friend about topcoats so I could wear this fantastic chartreuse-y glitter stuff; Boy, has nail polish changed!! A real manicure isn’t a huge time drain/ mess anymore!
China Glaze Ruby Pumps; Slightly darker than these and a bit bluer red. The glitter really pops. I’m re doing it as I read.

Quick dry slave no more!
