The Best of the Best, Volume #010
It’s been a good–but tiring–week! I’m still getting over this forever lingering cough, but at least I no longer sound like I’m infected with the worst cold/flu ever! People aren’t running away from me any more :)
What are your weekend plans? Mine are…
My weekend is gonna suck. Seriously. There is nothing promising about this weekend other than the brief moment in time that I’ll spend with my family to celebrate my Mom’s birthday and see my sister (who’s typically away at college) simultaneously. But otherwise? I’ve got a 35 page paper to crank out on Behavioral Advertising and Privacy! Wish me luck–I need it!

Oh how I relate!!
I have an Animal Physiology exam tomorrow morning (my uni schedules exams on Saturdays), a novel to finish reading so I can do a paper on it for Monday night, and a lab to write up for Thursday!
Love this time of year! Not!

My idea of a study break, or pacing yourself while writing a major paper . . .
One of my favorite study things to do is make bread. You mix up the dough, let it rise while you’re working, punch it down and knead it as a break, which also gets you moving and up away from the desk. You let it rise a second time while you write some more, take another break while you let the oven preheat, then throw the dough in the oven. By the time it’s baked, you’re ready for another break, and you get to have some nice fresh bread!
I’ve been doing this for years, and I find it so soothing – not only is the timing great for working on school stuff – you get about 10 minutes of break and stretch for every hour and a bit that you work – but it’s also something that’s immmediately rewarding, when so much of school is all about the deferred gratification. Besides, the brain is a glucose hog, and if you’re like me you get wicked “study munchies”. Fresh bread, while not a health food, is certainly a healthier choice than anything premade or packaged.
If you have the ingredients on hand, I highly recommend breadmaking while studying!!

That’s a really useful and unique idea, Cindy! I’m a pretty shoddy chef, but I managed to churn out seventeen pages before calling it quits for the day!
I might have to make sure I have the ingredients to do bread next time I have a big study session!

Hey Christine, totally off topic but I just read that Forever 21 is starting their own makeup line called “love and beauty”. Since I don’t have a blog, I was wondering if you might want to look into it and post about it in the future.
And as usual, these “Best of the Best” are really helpful. :)

I might – we’ll have to see. If it comes to my local Forever 21, I might brave it to see, but I don’t have any immediate plans to rush out and check it out, lol! I don’t know… something about it just doesn’t get me super excited, you know?

Hi Christine, hi ladies!
I am not sure this is the best place to post, but I am so happy I cannot help it: next week, my hubby and I will go on a trip to the only MAC shop available in my country, and I feel so happy, impatient, excited, and also intimidated! I am a real MAC newbie, and I try the guess what products I should go for (I am tempted by a blush and a lipglass).. thank you Christine for your site and guides, this will help me make my way throught that beautiful MAC world :)
