Long-Wear Cream Shadow ($22.00) If you’re looking for a good base by Bobbi Brown, try one of her long-wear cream shadows. Available in a nice range of colors, you’re bound to find one that can amp up your favorite shadows.
This innovative, long-wearing formula goes on comfortably and has a soft, velvety finish. Plus, it stays on, doesn’t crease, and maintains its true color. Apply with fingers or the Cream Shadow Brush (sold separately).
Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner ($21.00) Gel liners are fab for getting precise lines without the trials of liquid liner. This liner is indeed long-wearing; don’t worry about touching up or fading throughout the day.
Shimmer Brick Compact ($38.00) Bobbi is most definitely known for her shimmer bricks! They come in several varieties and shades, and you never know when a new one will show up. Depending on the shimmer brick and the skin tone it’s being applied to, they can act as highlighters, bronzers, or blushers.
Basic Eye Palette ($45.00) If you like easy, no-fuss-no-muss palettes for your eyeshadows (or lipsticks!), Bobbi has you covered. The Basic Eye Palette is just one of many available palettes. Throughout the year, the brand regularly releases limited edition palettes to coordinate with their launches.
The Best Of… series is designed to introduce some of the best products offered by the brand. If you’ve ever wanted to try the brand, these are products worth meeting for the first time.

I really want to try out the Gel eyeliner, but I’m wondering if I should get that or the Stila Smudge pot.
Her shimmerbricks are definitely on my list. But $40?!! Goodness gracious. I don’t mind spending money for makeup but geesh!!

I love the Stila Smudgepots! They’re so big, I’ve had mine for a year and there’s hardly any dent in it

I havenīt tried Stilaīs smudge pots, but I can compare them to MAC fluidlines…BBīs are a little smoother and easier to spread. I really like that you get some colours in a shimmery and a matte version. Itīs just sad that there arenīt more colour choices (i.e. brighter colours), but thatīs BB – keeping it “neutral”.
I was disappointed by the colour of the Violet Ink – it looks almost black on me. I wish it was a little lighter and actually violet. I do love the Sapphire Shimmer and Espresso Ink ones a lot. Staying power is great, they are waterproof, but easy to get off.

Thanks for your review, ladies!!!

I agree with you, Eva! I do find they’re a bit smoother than fluidlines!

To be honest, I like BB’s gel liners better than the smudge pots. I feel like they’re easier to use!

I have only one product from BB and that’s her Shimmer brick in Gold. I think that was an LE product but I just love it. It’s a great highlighter for cheeks and I also have used the strips as eyeshadow before. I’m looking to get more shimmer bricks, def prefer them to MAC’s MSF

You’re so lucky to have Gold in your possession, Sandy!

Are these Shimmer Bricks better than the MAC MSF?
Thursday, November 6, 2008
It depends on the person – I think they’re similar products, but sometimes what you want out of it is more important. Like if you want a lot of shimmer, BB’s shimmerbricks are definitely that. Also, some of them are more pigmented than others (just like some MSFs show up better on some people, but not everyone).

How does the Gel eyeliner compare to Blacktrack?
Tuesday, November 4, 2008
I really love mac products but I def think that the BB eye liners are way better. They go on like “buttah” LOL.

Seconded!!

I find them to be pretty on par with fluidline, though these do feel a little smoother.

I love the shimmer bricks, I think I have 8 of them, just bought the copper diamond one at the weekend. :) $40 is nothing, they cost way more in the UK. :(

Hey Christine! I really like this new type of post…I always want to try new brands other than MAC so it helps to know what to start with in each brand. Thanks! I hope to see more of these types of posts.

I just own an Bobbi Blush, because the similar MAC color was not available at my counter.
Bobbis products are too expensive for my current financial situation. Maybe I will my spend my money on Bobbis products when MAC is too freaky for me. Let’s talk about this in about 14 years.

Bobbi Brown is a bit more expensive than MAC, that’s very true!
LOL @ MAC being too freaky for ya…

Thanks for this kind of post! It really helps me out. The shimmer brick is now on my list for my Nordstrom Holiday shopping spree :-) Is there just this one available, or are there several?
Thursday, November 6, 2008
No problem, Heather! ;) But yes, lots available!!
Tuesday, November 4, 2008
Ok, I looked into it to answer my own question…and my wallet is truely DOOMED!!! :-P

Any recommendation of which shimmer brick to get?
Thursday, November 6, 2008
I like the Apricot one :) I also like the most recent, Copper Diamond, for subtle shimmer. It doesn’t give me a lot of color, though!

Hey, I lurk around regularly but this is the first time I’m commenting. LOVE this kind of post! Really helpful, especially when you want to check out a much-hyped brand. I love reading your blog. I don’t even do fancy makeup but you’re so creative (and pretty), it’s nice to see what you do.

Hey Frances :D I will definitely keep this type of post up :)
