February/March 2009 – shu uemura’s 128th mode make-up collection ‘Mirage’, is an optical phenomenon that gently arises like a mirage. Enhancing the uniqueness of every woman’s face, natural positions of light and shadow are accentuated using expertly chosen palettes of color and contrasting textures. Utilizing the concept of Impressionist painting, colors appear randomly placed when viewed up close, yet with distance, the effect creates a lasting and clearly defined image. Wavering on the eye and cheek, brushstrokes of colors and texture gently enhance each part of the face, creating outstanding dimension with sophisticated combinations of light and shadow.

Oh wow, I need those eye shadow palettes and are they nail polish? I want the silvery glitter one. I’ll have a hard time deciding between this and the Guerlain collection.

I do believe those are nail polishes! There are SO many fantastic upcoming launches, I might have to save all my Christmas money for those!

Oooooh! Droolworthy! I must have that pink/gray/lavender trio!

Anything else catch your eye? I admit it, I’m pretty much a total newb when it comes to shu. I’ve only tried a handful of their products. I’m a total devotee to their eyelash curler, though. Any recs?

All I have from Shu is a quad of eyeshadows (put together from the individuals… love that!) and the lash curler! Karen from MABB reports well on all the Shu items, though, so I’m confident that all their products meet quality expectations! :)

Which shadows do you have?

I’m intrigued as to how those blushes are.

Me too!

I want both eye palettes and the eyeliners. And the lilac nailpolish! Too much :(

Uh oh! At least you have a little while to save up?

One of the best makeup ads I’ve ever seen, so ethereal.. nice designs, but the colors? I’m not sure. I think collectors might want to get their hands on these!

I’m torn over the promo image. It’s pretty in an ethereal way, but at the same time, I’m bugged by it. I can’t put my finger on it!

I totally love the eyes, but the blush looks kinda weird there….?

The whole photo is a little off to me, IMO.

Their eyelash curler is something they are definitely known for–and I can attest to that!
I know their cleansing oil is also popular, and of course, their false lashes. They’re lovely (though pricey)!

Hmmmm, so “pastel-y”
I’m way too olive/yellow based for this =/

I admit I’m a bit afraid it won’t work well for me either!

I tried the lip duo at Saks today and it is GORGOEUS! They were sold out and I am told that the they aren’t making any more! It is a color that would look great on everyone! So, I recommend buying one if you can find it!

Wow, that’s too bad that it was sold out!

I checked the Shu Uemura website and I believe they still have the lip duo in stock. It looks red to me in the ad, but it really is more of a raspberry color in person!
