It’s a Matte, but Shimmered… Night Sky!
Nubar Night Sky Collection ($24.95) is a short ‘n sweet collection featuring three shimmer mattes and their Diamont Seal & Shine Quick Dry Top Coat.
- Midnight is a deep charcoal-black with silver-gray shimmer. Two coats were enough for me to get complete, opaque color.
- Twilight is a bright silver-gray with silver and darker silver shimmer. Again, just two coats here.
- Sunset is a gold shimmered amber-copper base. Like the other two, I found two coats were the right mix for opaque color. I really liked this one with the Diamont top coat.
The formula was fantastic — they dry quicker than the regular polish, but I had enough time to lay down a coat and move onto the next without it drying before then. They were also really opaque with each only needing two coats to cover my entire nail completely. The consistency was on the thinner side, so it was easy to apply and get the amount you needed. The colors themselves are a bit basic, but I’ll be crossing my fingers they’ll release some other shades down the road.

I think I'll be lemming midnight now... How is the wear though? for example OPI suede has terrible wear. On me it starts to chip on the second day or so.
Nice! I wonder how Midnight compares to the black polish in Alice + Olivia. Also, Twilight reminds me of MAC Studded...
I've never heard of this brand before, but I love that color "Midnight!" It's a fun twist on basic black, which is what I usually wear. I just might have to try it out :)
Here's Studded -- http://www.temptalia.com/mac-riveting-collection-nail-lacquer-review-photos-swatches They are close. I'd say Twilight is a little closer to silver than Studded is.
LOVE LOVE LOVE these!!! Do you know if they're available in Sephora? I might go there in 2 days and it's time to indulge myself a bit!
Very nice. Thanks for sharing. But ever since I heard of CND's shellac mani I cant think of any other polish...
Not yet but soon. My plan is to have a pro do it first then If I like it buy it for home use. how about you? is that getting a shellac mani for you?
I'm going to have to pick up Midnight because it looks so much like Chanel Noir Ceramic (which was introduced in like 2007, I believe it was LE, and my bottle is running low) but with more shimmer.
these are really pretty, but they remind me of the orly collection that came out last fall - it had matte shimmer finishes as well. I picked up an amazing one - glam rock - that looks like midnight from nubar
Yeah, both Orly and Zoya have similar (not 100% the same, but similar) shades, but I really like the formula on the Nubar ones a lil' more - so I do hope they release some new, unseen shades!
Kind of, but Originality has such a different finish/texture - nearly metallic. http://www.temptalia.com/mac-pret-a-papier-collection-nail-lacquer-review-photos-swatches
Does anyone know where I can get this brand in Canada? (Or a website that'll ship to Canada reasonably?)
