Milani Holographic Nail Lacquers: Hi-Tech, digital, Cyberspace;
HD, 3D, Hi-Res
Milani Holographic Nail Lacquers for Spring
Milani Holographic Nail Lacquer ($4.99 each) really caught my eye after I reviewed Hi-Tech. Here are all of the new shades for Spring swatched and photographed–and still loving them! The formula on these is thin, but it’s not runny–it works quite well and it’s very easy to apply. I did three coats for all the shades, which was just what was needed (except 3D, where two would have been fine). These are just fun, sparkling shades!
- Hi-Tech is spring-y, yellow-green with different flecks of, predominantly, gold and green shimmer.
- Digital is a sparkling medium pink with multi-colored shimmer. Pink and purplish shimmer dominate, but then there are flecks of gold and green, too.
- Cyberspace is a sky blue base with green blue shimmer that’s most noticeable, and then the reflective multi-colored shimmer is subtler.
- HD is a silver-ish polish with a semi-sheer silver color base and lots of bright silver and multi-reflective shimmer. I found this was the sheerest shade of the bunch; pictured is three coats, and you can still see a bit of the nail through it.
- 3D is a yellow-gold that goes opaque in two coats, though I swatched it with three, just for good measure. It has brightened golden yellow shimmer along with the multi-coloured shimmer found in holographic shades.
- Hi-Res is a shimmering medium red-based purple base, almost feels like a jelly base, with icy purple and pops of gold shimmer dominate, but then there is also red, blue, and green shimmer underneath.

i found these at cvs just recently :D i got hi-res and hd, and love them! my local target has them too, but not all of them buuuut pretty sure they were a little cheaper.
I am deffinately going to be checking these out :) I luv holographic nail polishes, and the ones from China Glaze are discontinued...these look just as beautiful as those did...i really need to find these polishes
Since I was late getting on the Milani 3D band wagon in 2010, I was able to find them on cherryculture.com for $3.99 each! I had to get all 6 colors from seeing all the rave reviews! Can't wait to get my order next week!
this is a great glittery nail polish but if you're looking for a more holographic polish try color club or opi....they are amazing!!!!!!
I am a nail polish *fanatic*. My husband has threatened to cut me off from buying any more! (HA! I'd like to see him try ;) ) I normally love wearing glitter/shimmer polishes but hate having to take them off. These polishes really take the pain out of removing super-shimmer colors. I'm wearing Hi-Res right now, and in the sunlight it is...well, the only word to describe it is "ShaBLAM!" But don't worry, it's not so overpowering indoors that it makes you look like a teenage mall-rat. I bought all of these colors, and I'm extremely pleased with all of them! I use mine with a Sinfulcolors base-coat, two coats of the polish, and two top coats of clear to get extra reflective POP from the colors.
I'm w/Nic - these colors remind me of Easter. They would look great on my toes, especially w/ a tan. Oh - I have to try them!
It doesn't look as much holographic to me as it does shimmery... I have to say though, your cuticles look AMAZING!
I love love love this collection. I own all but 3D. I agree the consistency is thin but not runny and they finish beautifully, no grit unlike Absolutely Alice and Mad as a Hatter (which I love anyway) Verry fun collection.
Yeah, I was surprised that the formula wasn't bunk! It's definitely thin and almost a watery consistency from what I can tell (not like I was pouring it out, LOL), but it works amazingly!!
They are all nice. I especially like Digital, but I would not easily buy nail polish as flashy as these. They look gorgeous however. If I had a daughter, I would have bought her the lot. I think my son, however would have liked Hi-Res! yeah... he is a bit of a rockstar. :)
A wonderful new "feature" for your blog could be a link to internet site where you can find the cosmetics you are reviewing also in Europe. I would like to buy the purple, but every time we bought something from USA, there's a possibility that in the custom for freight the items get lost :_(
I was about to buy these the other day at my local cvs! I waited because I wanted to see if you were going to post up more swatches of the colors LOL! ^_^ I'm glad I waited, I don't think the one I was going to buy would be the one I'm in love with now :) Thanks for the swatches Christine!
Pretty! Glitter and holo are so big lately in nail polish. You should also check out Nubar Prisms and Nubar Sparkles collections!
Thanks for the swatches Christine I can't wait till it warms up out here in NY so I can put on my flip flops and polish my toe nails.
WOW!!!This ones look so great love the shimmer-holographic effect! I am not sure if they have already arrived to drugstores here but I might check tomorrow! Really like: Hi-Tech, 3D and Hi-Res... Thanks for the swatches they are beautiful!!!
Christine, your nails always look fantastic!! The polish job, their shape, everything! Have you ever done a post about your regimen and technique? If not, you should!
This sounds so bad, but I don't have a regimen, LOL. I'll try and take a video of how I apply nail maybe :)
So pretty! I'll have to pick these up. I wish some easy-to-find brand would have a black holographic polish, though. The only one I've found is Color Club, and I can't find that in stores! (I'd rather not buy one bottle of nail polish online...)
omg i love these! especially with all the colors put together its like easter eggs at the disco or something, lol. anyway i dont know where to find milani... i looked at rite-aid, target and ulta and no luck... darn!
Loving Hi-Res! BTW, they don't have glitters in them, right? Just shimmers? Just wondering because I'm hoping they aren't a pain to remove!
I'd say they're like a cross - I didn't have problems removing them, but they're not as easy as say a cream (which is the easiest!) :) I'd say they're on par with most shimmer polishes!
I love the colours, and they look like they are of good quality, but... They look gritty. Too much glitter I guess, or maybe it's just the way the glitter was implemented into the polish. I prefer shimmer over glitter.
