Make Up For Ever Aqua Cream in #1 Anthracite, #22 Emerald Green Review, Photos, Swatches

Make Up For Ever Aqua Cream

Make Up For Ever Aqua Cream: Two More!

I’ve already fully reviewed Make Up For Ever Aqua Cream ($22.00) here (#5, 7, 18, 21) and here (#6, 9, 11, 13, 20). I’ve got two more shades to show you!

  • #1 Anthracite is a darkened steel green with a light silver shimmer.
  • #22 Emerald Green is a brightened green with a slightly metallic-frost sheen and yellow undertones.

I can see #1 Anthracite working really well for an intense, ultra-dark smoky eye. I definitely think that #22 Emerald Green is definitely the more versatile and usable shade of these two in particular, though. It’s great layered underneath golds, greens, blues, and teals.

Anyone else indulge in the new Aqua Creams?

Just bought #22 as an impulse buy at sephora! Can't wait to put it on! I'm a green fanatic, 22 is my lucky number and just in time for saint paddy's day. I also couldn't believe such a beautiful bright color is part of the permanent offering of the brand. I've got to get away from MAC. They have me trained to believe that everything is limited edition!

Can the green be used on the lips? It's difficult to find a beautiful green like this as a lipstick color. OCC had a botanical green lip tar, but looks like they've discontinued it because it's no longer listed on the site.

Can they be used as liners?

I have the green one and it's fabulous. I haven't experienced any creasing with these, although I know some people have. I actually really love these cream eyeshadows, I want to buy Steel :)

How do you apply these? I bought #14 for my eyes and I can't use my fingers, my eyelid is too small and I end up making a mess. Any brushes you suggest?

are these creams perm or LE?

How would you apply a product like this??

I'd use a flat brush like MAC's 249!

Christine, Thank you very much! That green is gorgeoussssssssssssssssss! ^_^ Must have it

Hey christine what mac brush would you apply these with. Thanks!!!

Any idea how easy it would be to mix Aqua Creams together in small batches to tweak shades? Like I really like Emerald Green, but I'm be happier if it were a bit bluer. It'd be nice it I could take just a smidge of Intense Blue and add it to Emerald Green.

You could probably do it one eye at a time... but not so much in batches, I'd say.

the green one is sooooo pretty! i want it! are these better in quality than the paint pots from mac?

I think they're on par - the two have slightly different textures.

The green is beautiful! I find it really hard to find a nice bright kelly green.

Hey Christine, I want to know out of all of the aqua creams you have bought, which do you think would look the best on Light blue eyes? Thank you :)

Ooh, the gold one for sure! I also think the Warm Beige one would work well.

I think that green one made my heart skip a beat! The other one is a strong consideration as well.

I bought 4 of these and I hecka love them! I really can't believe they don't crease on me because usually everything does. Christine I hope you do a look with the gold one, I have this one and I'm kinda stumped on what to pair with it.

Try layering other golds, bronzes, coppers, or greens over it :)

Thanks, I'll see about trying that today.

I love that green! Gorgeous!

You're killing me with the aqua creams! I started out only wanting 2 and that number is increasing steadily.

I've bought Emerald Green recently and I love it :) It "survives" one hour in the gym. Perfect for hot summer days and rainy days. I have to buy more of these :)

Nice! :) I took a shower with the blue look I wore the other day & everything held up perfectly!

Gosh, these MUFE Aqua Creams are sooo pretty! Maybe I should look into buying a few. :D

These are two of the first aqua creams that I bought and I love them. #1 is awesome as a liner when I don't want to go with boring, flat black.

That is a very nice green. I really like it.
