Lancome L’Absolu Rouge Soiree for Holiday 2009: Lancome Plum Tease Ink Artliner Gel Eyeliner
Lancome Plum Tease Ink Artliner Gel Eyeliner
($23.50 for 0.14 oz.) is a new shade of Lancome’s Ink Artliner for the holiday season. It’s an eggplant-y plum with a soft, mostly matte appearance. It’s richly pigmented and goes on opaque in one swipe. It’s creamy and easy to work with, but it does dry down after about thirty seconds or so. It doesn’t budge, fade, or smudge throughout the day, and it really holds its own amongst the gel eyeliner heavyweights.
I like this with neutrals, but it especially pops with a healthy dose of sparkling gold eyeshadow, too! I don’t think I own any other gel eyeliners in this particular color, so that’s a huge deal for me — love it when that happens!
Even though winter has just started here in California, I’m actually wondering (and very eager!) whether we’ll see any bold hues for next summer…

Pretty! It’s darker in the swatch than in the pan, which I like. It does seem like a difficult shade to work with though! :)

Absolutely love that shade, but with my natural dark circles, I’d look a fright.

Wow, that looks so pretty! I definitely agree that the shade is very individual — it’s not often you see an eggplant-coloured eye product that actually has the red undertones of an eggplant.

pretty color. wish it were an eyeshadow. it takes me a lifetime to empty a gel liner so they end up dry in the pot. so I sold all that’s left in my stash and decided not to buy any gel liners anymore. so im trying my best to get stila’s smudgepot in little black dress and cobalt clutch :p

I just received an email from hsn.com. Lancome will be on air several times today and one of the products they’re selling is the Lancôme Ink Artliner in Plum Tease. It’s $23.50 but, there’s free shipping today and no tax that I’m aware of. From my experience, HSN ships fairly quickly. Hope this is useful to anyone thinking of trying it out.

Oh, that is SO pretty! I love the red flecks of sparkle in it. I think a little goes a long way with this one though. And if this came out in a smudge pot, i’d so be all over that. Haven’t graduated to gel liners yet :)

This is so pretty! If only Lancome agreed to never test their products on animals again, I’d consider buying it :)

This is such a pretty color, but I don’t wear gel liners! (My lids are so uneven on top that I find it really hard to wear top liner. I usually just line the outer 1/3 of my bottom lashline.) Do you have any suggestions for a smudge-proof pencil liner that’s this color?

I don’t have any dupes that come to mind in a pencil form (particularly smudge proof!), but you could take a pencil liner that’s similarly colored (perhaps Urban Decay Rockstar or 1999) and dip this into it and then line the lower lash line (that’s my favorite way to apply gel eyeliner to the lower lash line).
You can always use a thin eyeliner brush to apply it to the lower lash line, though – don’t have to wear it only on the top :)

I just popped by the lancome counter to look at this in person and it’s gorgeous! I tried it on and bought it right away! Looks awesome with my brown eyes and it’s hard to find things that make them look more…interesting (: Thanks for the review!
