Creme de la Femme lipstick is a pinky purple shade with gold warmth in it. It has a slight shimmer, since it is a frost finish, but not overly so.
Capricious lipstick is a plummy shade with just a touch of rose to make it interesting.
Up the Amp lipstick is a creamy, opaque purple with a bit of reddish-violet tones to it. This is a shade not for the faint of heart. It isn’t a light or lilac-y purple by any means!

Rebel lipstick is a dark, vampy purple shade with a smooth, creamy finish. Works really well with Vino lip liner!
Hang Up lipstick is a dark, creamy burgundy-purple that’s extremely pigmented and dramatic when worn.
Plumful lipstick is a sheer, lightly rose-tinged plummy shade. It’s runs a little warmer than cool for a plum shade, too.

I'm placing a MAC order soon, and I'm going to get Up the Amp! I'm sure I can pull it off.. I've worn dark purple before, and Up the Amp isn't dark by any means!
Limited edition purples always seem so much better... Like Violetta my favorite or Fashion mews. I only have like 4 lipsticks sadly... I seem to overload myself with eyeshadow. I need more lippies. lol.

Christine, I now have Creme de la femme thanks to Back to MAC. It's gonna be my go to lipstick for the summer for sure! I love to wear it with a little Soft Note Tendertone on top. My fav purple was Fastlane which was a mauve-purple color with silver type shimmer. It's an LE and was released with Rushmetal I believe. Loved that one but again it's gone! :(

Definitely Pervette... Like Fashion Mews from HK but with a more glittery texture and a pink duochrome. I love it! First MAC lipstick, so I love it dearly. <3

I love Capricious! I think of it as a purplish berry.

I know Fashion Mews was limited but it is one of my all time fave lipsticks. I have a back up of it because i love it so much. I think it's great because it isn't too bright and because I am very fair (NW15) it goes really well with my skin tone.

I'm so stuck on purple these days! I just picked up Prevete (I think that's how it's spelled LoL) and I wear it with Plum Royale liner to create a sort of gradient on my lips. I love it.

It's funny, because Capricious is not at all purple on me -- it comes across as a true berry. Maybe it's because of our difference in skin tones? I have very fair skin, cool tones, and lightly pigmented lips.
yes, Capricious is similar on me. One of my favorite deep berry shades. ppp/cool also!
It might be, Faye! Capricious is definitely a borderline color -- it could be a berry, it could run a little more purple. It's not a OMG WHOA PURPLE! color at all.
I heart Creme de la Femme (I was talking about it on the must-have pinks-WHOOPS!). Lavender Whip is great too, it looks like candy with some gloss on top.
It's all good ;) MAC lipsticks show up differently on all of us, too, so what is pink on one is purple on another!
I would love to own Hang Up and Plumful since I'm after those two! I need to stock up on some purple lipsticks lol

Odyssey was my 90s purple, but I prefer softer/lighter shades now. Sweet Thing l/s. (It doesn't say LE when I look it up, so I think it is regular line. Lav Whip would be my fav if they would make that regular line.) I wish Rebel would look good on me!

I like the lighter shades. Birds of a Feather is an amplified shade I wear a lot. It's more mauve though. I don't even remember what collection it was from.
Naturally Eccentric? I can't remember, but that's the first one that popped into my head.

Seconded! I LOVE Cyber. I wear it on its own quite a lot and it's just beautiful!
Alot of people are talking about violetta for a limited time it is availiable from the mac website under SS09 'Tendertone' if anyone is interested. I think Violetta is the best purple out there.

Hang up is gorgeous...I actually just swapped it because I only wore it a few times...but creme de la femme is one of my favorites. I wear it all the time...I am actually about to try it with funtabulous, I know that will be amazing!

I love up the amp. On my pigmented lips it's somewhat neutral and not bold on me. I never would have tried this color if it was not for the MA suggesting that I try it out. I also am eyeing the purple dazzleglass that will be coming out late spring (vie vunde?).
Up the Amp was one of my first lipsticks, though it shows up quite purple on me so it's not an everyday lipstick for me :(
I know it's not on the list and why it's not here, but I just wanted to share that Violettea + Funtabulous = Love.

I'd love to be able to wear purple l/s but unfortunately it doesn't go well with my skin tone ... though I liked the monogram one, can't remember the name, it's more on the pinky side on my lips and not too dark ...
