I've just tried this on and I'm torn; this is simultaneously incredibly flattering to my med-light, neutral skin, but also blazingly bright. I'm not by nature a pink lipstick wearer, but at 49 I'm realizing that reds are not my friends anymore. Perhaps a shift to this with a neutral eye on the proper day... I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to someone in the MAC 20NW realm who is seeking a flattering bold pink, just not sure that I'm that person. Note that it--and all the mattes/matte xs of this line--are quite drying.

The color is a lovely shimmery gold, but the product itself is HARD--so much so that it is nearly impossible to get out of the pot with finger or brush. A fail.

I have not used this product, but seeing that there's no listing of the shades included, here goes: *Vintage, a shimmery gold *Stealth, a matte cream *Wolf, a matte chocolate *Obsidian, a matte black The packaging is beautiful and the pigments look good; it's just a little too bold to be a "neutral" to me (again, haven't even tried them on).

I generally don't like NYX lip products, especially the butter glosses. They're pretty vanilla to my mind, all shades of neutral candyfloss and named as such. Other than its name, Raspberry Tart is the lone exception. It's a vivid, true purple that goes on lovely, wears hardly at all (like all the butter glosses), but fades quite nicely. It's neither goth nor terribly dramatic, just a pretty, sheer purple. I love it in the same way I love some of my orange lippies: when I'm in the mood for something different.

My favorite Lip Tar, and likely one of my favorite lip colors ever. It gets everything about a copper right, leaning a little red to be truly flattering. This was discontinued years ago, but I still have a little, and when that goes, it'll be dupe search for me.

Love my Lip Tars--even the brights like Beta, a pure orange--but this one was just too neon for me. That said, if you like the color, they're wonderful formulas.

A fabulous true orange. My tube is ancient and grody but the contents are still great and I take it for a spin every so often, usually topped off with a bright orange Aveda gloss that, sans sticker, has become nameless. Beta takes a backseat only to Authentic for me. Like all the Lip Tars, it applies liquid and dries down matte (or metallic, as the case may be). Lasts long and no fuss; wears off evenly after a good while. Compliments galore, even on the borderline garish colors.

This warmish tone is what made me realize I am a neutral, and def not warm. This made me look like death. Contrast with the somewhat similar Cannes, which is my HG neutral. Actually prefer this shade, but totally unwearable if you've got my coloring. pale neutral w/ poss olive undertone--approx 20 depth in MAC and already pigmented lips

Color is perfect on me (pale neutral w/ poss olive undertone--approx 20 depth in MAC and already pigmented lips); this is my HG neutral. All the complaints about texture in this line are true, but I think it's somehow better than the other ten I've tried--perhaps it is, in part, that it is a neutral. but it is so easy to wear over a liner w/ a gloss, I forgive. Contrast Stockholm--similar but makes me look like death at best.

Love this shade. I'm a neutral/cool but I love warms (I have coloring that would lead one to think I'm warm, but I've found that I'm really much more neutral/leaning cool), and this looks great on me. If you liked Toast of NY in the 90s, this is a great, much more red. I went into the store trying to decide between this and Chili, and decided to get Chili partly due to the rep suggestion but also because it was more of a red than a brown/brick--but now I regret not getting this. Going back for it, even though they're pretty similar. It's very buildable; only con I see is that it is quite drying--more so even than other MAC mattes.
