Look – Dramatic Blue & Teal Look with False Eyelashes

Yesterday, I was SO excited! Why? Because I applied false eyelashes for the first time to myself without it taking all day long. False eyelash application is most definitely an area where I lack expertise in (I can tell you all the tricks–I just can’t get them to work for me!), and one of the issues is I just can’t afford to spend an hour fussing with applying them. I don’t even just sit down and watch TV — I’m writing posts or taking photos or going through notes! I am just hoping maybe it’s all finally clicked for me, and I’ll be able to replicate my success next time, LOL!

I’d also like to add that in this look, I am using Korres’ Watermelon Lightweight Tinted Moisturizer SPF30 (you can expect a review later, but just for reference!). The pictures make it look a bit dewy, but I think that’s just me hot after blow-drying my hair. All in all, though, this is one of my favorite looks I’ve done lately, maybe overall, too 🙂 Hope you like it!

& Happy Mother’s Day!! <3

You will need the following…

  • Eyes: Soft Ochre paint pot (neutral beige base), Mutiny pigment (aqua-blue), Parrot eyeshadow (blue with teal), Moon’s Reflection eyeshadow (silvery blue), Prussian eyeshadow (dark blue), Atlantic Blue eyeshadow (bright violet-blue), Femme-fi eyeshadow (highlighter), #7 lashes (false eyelashes), Blacktrack fluidline (black), Urban Decay Flipside 24/7 Liner (teal), Plushlash mascara (black)
  • Cheeks: Enough Said blush (bronzy-orange), Dior Amber Diamond Skin Shimmer (bronzy highlighter)
  • Lips: Brave New Bronze lipstick (pinky nude), Goldyrocks dazzleglass (gold shimmer)
  • Brushes: 266 (firm, angled brush), 226 (fluffy crease brush), 219 (pointed crease brush), 214 (smudge brush), 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 129 (dense blush brush)
  • Substitutes: Mutiny = Teal + Frost; Parrot = Shimmermoss; Enough Said = bronzer; Brave New Bronze = Velvet Teddy;

Directions: Define brows using a coordinating powder shadow applied with the 266 brush. Apply Soft Ochre paint pot all over the lid as the base with the 249. With the 239, apply Mutiny pigment with water-based mixing medium on the lower lid. On the inner lid, pack Mutiny pigment on using the 239. Apply Parrot eyeshadow to the middle of the lid. Darken the outer lid using Moon’s Reflection eyeshadow using the 239. Darken crease with Atlantic Blue eyeshadow using the 226, then deepen with Prussian eyeshadow. Sweep Femme-fi eyeshadow underneath the brow bone to highlight. Finish with Urban Decay Flipside Liner on lower lash line, and Blacktrack fluidline on the upper lash line using the 209. Apply #7 lashes to upper lash line, then lightly apply Plushlash mascara on lashes. Sweep apples of cheeks with Enough Said blush using the 129, then highlight with Dior Amber Diamond Skin Shimmer with the 188. Apply Brave New Bronze lipstick to lips, and then top with Goldyrocks dazzleglass for color and shine.

looks great! i love the lashes, in the close up pictures i didn’t think it would make that much of an impact, but in the full face pictures you can really tell how nice they look… awesome!

That looks absolutely brilliant Christine… congrats on the lash break thru! And the tinted moisturizer looks lovely… gives you the ‘glow from within’ 🙂

Awww thanks Christine. I’ve been dying to wear mutiny again and so happy to see your look today. I have a feeling that Brave New Bronze look a lot like Plink or Kinda Sexy on me. i should feel so glad. Now I could just want Purple Rite.

Very pretty!!! I wore the teal/blue look for the mother’s day too 🙂 Love your lippy – you are enabling me for Brave New Bronze!!

Christine this blue look is really gorgeous on you and brings out the color of your eyes loving the false eyelashes just such a wonderful look blues/tyrquoise are my favs I willtry out this look! Thanks xx

forgot to ask what lipstick shades do you think look good with Goldyrocks dazzleglass im still debating wheather it is a colour i would use everyday! i have asian skin(NC40) cheers x

Gosh what a smashingly beautiful look 🙂 The lashes are amazing and I love that the application of your shadow is just the tiniest bit different than usual 🙂

Your eyes pop! Fabulousness!! I’m definitely going to go with this look soon.. hopefully it will bring out my brown eyes. 🙂 Can’t wait for the review on the tinted moisturizer!

Love it!! u effin rocked this look christine and the lashes look great I like wearing lashes I’ve never had much trouble gettin them on but still find them frustrating kudos to u on this look

Awww! Thanks so much, Amy 🙂

Keep trying! I think it’s one of those things (at least for me) that if I don’t get right in the first 5 minutes, it’s not going to happen at all that day!

i LOVE the lashes! i didn’t know what i was doing when i first started to put them on but in time and A LOT of practice i finally did it without messing up too much. you did a great job of it.
i love the whole look overall too but i couldn’t pull off the blues like you can. hehe
very pretty

Really gorgeous look, love the eyes, both the colours and the lashes. 🙂 Not keen on the lips, but you still look lovely. 🙂

wooooooooooooow!! 🙂
gorgeous!!! sigh..it is as if you have the SEA on your eyes! 😀
beautiful! 🙂

OMG, I love this so much that i am going to recreat this look right now, as matter of fact I have all of the eye produsts that you used, yay!!!!!!!!!!!! Btw, since I am new to your site, I have a question, what is you nationality. Cousin says your Puerto Rican and I say you’re and American, so yeah, the bets are on

Thank you so much, Martha!! 🙂

I am half Vietnamese, quarter Swiss, and quarter German 🙂 No Peurto Rican in me at all!

This is the best I’ve ever seen you look now! Lashes, finally! hehe And I have to say, when you use a light shadow on your lower lash line, it makes your eyes look bigger. The black on the waterline closes them in. Great job! I hope you’ll keep trying lashes! 🙂

WOW! Def my fave look on you in a long whole!!! Totally Gorgeous!
I have been in a “blue mood” for the past few weeks now too! I have to try to recreate this look and give that l/s a try!

I was infatuated with the swatch of lipstick on your other post but now I’m in love. What a gorgeous color (& on a gorgeous person)!

I love the lashes, but think a cooler lip would look better with the shadow. Maybe even just changing the dazzleglass to Baby Sparks?

I think this has to be my favorite look as well. The blues are absolutely beautiful. And you couldn’t get a better false lash for you eye. They really made the look pop! Great work!

CHRISTINE! This is my favorite look by far! You even look excited in your full face pictures, like “Dang…I’m hot!”

I’m not a big fan of the lips, but they do compliment the look. 🙂

All in all, a 10! A huge 10! An 11 even! 🙂

Beautiful, I feel you’re pain with falsies. I have just (for the time being) given up on full lashes. I’ve got the art of the half-lash somewhat under mastery. So I crop my lashes so that I don’t have to put them all the way in towards the inner corner.

Thanks, I’m having a “truely blue” week. I have so much deep truth and I do adore blues so much I’m trying to use as many various blue eye looks with it as possible. And am searching around for inspiration so this look was perfectly timed for me! 🙂

Seeing this look had me thinking, “Dramatic look! For me?!! THANKS!!!” Because I recently asked when you’d do one. I love dramatic looks, and I believe more people should attempt to rock at least one dramatic look!
I am definately loving this va va voom look!!! The false eyelashes are working wonders for your eyes! By the way, I know how difficult it is. I have failed in that area. COMPLETELY FAILED!!! Loving the shades of blues!! You are working this look, babe!!!!!!

This is so pretty. I love the false eyelashes. I’ve wanted to try some out, but, like you, I have a feeling it would take me forever and a day to get them on correctly.

Thanks, Jaclyn! 🙂 It’s taken many failed attempts, and for whatever reason, it just worked when I tried it for this look. THANKFULLY!

WoW! STUNNING! Dang girl…this is YOUR set of colors…the hair…the skin…the lashes…lips…EYES!! BAM CHRISTINE!! BEautiful…keep playin with those oceanique tones! LOVE IT!

really pretty look! i totally know what you mean about the fake eyelashes.. i just dont get them no matter how hard i try, but i hope you do now, they look great on you! 🙂

Stunning! Your looks are always amazing, but this is one of my favorites without a doubt. And you’ve sold me on Brave New Bronze.

Oooh, that looks awesome! I love the aqua blue along with the other blues, looks great! I really like blue eyeshadows, so will need to try this out. Well done for the false eyelashes – I still haven’t been brave enough to try them out as they sometimes look a little fiddly to me.

Thanks, Saira! 🙂 I try them from time to time, but I just don’t have the time to commit to getting them on most of the time, so if they don’t get on in the first 5-10 minutes… I say screw it, LOL.

Beautiful look and LOVE the lashes! I’ve just gotten into wearing them myself and like you, I don’t wear them as much because of the time factor and my lack of experience with them. What method did you end up using to make it work for you?

Thank you so much, Jennifer! What are your favorite lashes?

No special method, ironically. Just put the glue on the strip, waited for it to get tacky, then applied. No tweezers, no cutting lashes into halves/thirds!

Great combo! Love the hair Christine, keep growing it long 🙂 good job on the lashes..I also am no expert on lashes 🙁 ..lol

Christine I truly believe that this is the most stunning look u have done so far!! U look so radiant and beautiful and the lashes make such a big and amazing difference!!

Wow this is really good! Usually whenever I’d wear blue eyeshadow I’d wear a cool lip. But this warm lip you have going on looks FABULOUS with the blue eyeshadow! I’m going to give it a go, as I was never fond of cool toned lips on me anyhow. Thanks for the inspiration Christine!

Thanks, Jess! 🙂 Sometimes I do a cool lip, but it does have a tendency to make me look too cool, so a warmer lip usually looks a bit more natural on me (since I am warm-toned!).

I hope you try it!

I love this look but I don’t own Atlantic Blue or Prussian..may have to attempt a little improv there but I’ll see what I can do with what I have. Great work once again Christine.

Atlantic Blue is hard to dupe (amongst the MAC line), but Freshwater would work — just a very different texture!

I hope you find a way to recreate it 🙂

Hey Christine! I’m just browsin’ thru some of your older looks 🙂 Speaking of blow dryers, how fast does your T3 dry your hair? I know that T3’s are SUPER worth the hundreds of dollars, but it’s out of my budget. Any cheaper alternative dryers?
P.S.: I have VERY thick corkscrew curls down to my elbows.

It takes me about 5-10 minutes… well, probably 5 now, ’cause my hair is way shorter. When it was longer (down to mid-chest), 5-10 minutes.

I adore, adore my T3, but there are definitely alternatives nowadays. (IMO, there didn’t use to be — now there are plenty!)

For a cheaper alternative, I like Conair 213X Infiniti Professional. It’s $35 on Amazon!

You are just so beautiful! I can’t get over it.
You don’t even need makeup (although your makeup is beautiful too)
You just have that all around beauty: gorgeous smile, beautiful cheeks, smooth skin, full lips, sleek hair!
You are a beautiful woman Christine.
