I want to cry! MAC still hasn’t emailed me to say that my backordered Stereo Rose is on its way! *stamps foot*

    • Lady Di.

Im still waiting too! They said it would take 2 weeks but no word yet!

    • jennylevi

Well am in the same boat with the rest of you gals… I want to have this so bad… I actually tried it on my face before it was release but then never had a chance to go shopping all this time at work and then online was sold out like it was hot and fresh bread out of the oven…

    • Ahh me too! It’s so frustrating. They could atleast send out an email.

      • Kalex

I was just on internet banking and noticed that I have a pending $28 charge from MAC on my debit/credit card! Our orders must be on their way ladies!

    • Carrie

I contacted MAC yesterday because I realized it had been a while since that backorder notice. They e-mailed me back and said my order was being processed and that I should receive my Stereo Rose in 5-7 days. E-mail or call them.

  2. I like pairing Stereo Rose with Jazzed lipstick. They complement each other very nicely! For a really fresh summer look, I’ve been skipping eye shadow and using black mascara on curled lashes. Adding a touch of MAC Golden bronzer ties it all together on my NW15 skin. :)

  3. Suzy

For my eyes, I used MUFE Aqua Cream in Turquoise as a base, then put MAC Blue Calm in the inner 2/3 of the lid, with Deep Truth on the outer third. I put Contrast in the crease, and used a touch of MUFE eyeshadow in White (#0) on the inner corners of my eyes, and finished with Shroom as a highlight. Added MAC Blacktrack fluidline eyeliner, and finished with DiorShow mascara.

For the rest, I used, SR on the cheeks (of course), with Jazzed and Partial to Pink Cremesheen on my lips.

    I really loved it!

Not sure how I would include an image or I’d link one. LOVE Stereo Rose!

    • Amy F.

Suzy, this sounds like a lovely combination. I may have to give it a try soon!

    • Dini

Agreed. Sounds like a great combo. Just got Blue Calm, so I will have to try this out. Thanks for the inspiration.

      • Suzy

I read elsewhere that Blue Calm is expected to be discontinued this year! So sad, because it’s my favorite blue!

  4. Refinement

I’m an NW45 and I’ve been using this on my cheeks and lids. I originally bought this because of all the hype but I’m really falling in love with it. The possibilities are endless!!!

  5. sillylilacs

    I’ve been consistently doing this:

Eye: NYX Champagne all over lid
    NYX Iced Mocha in crease
NYX Black as liner and smudged
    MAC Vanilla as highlight
NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Cottage Cheese as inner corner highlight

Cheeks: MAC By Candlelight as highlight
    MAC Stereo Rose as blush
NYC Sunny bronzer as light contour

    Lips: lipbalm!
sometimes Revlon Super Lustrous Lipgloss in Coral Reef

It gives a really natural and soft looking finish =D

    • Donna

I have been playing with my eye makeup, but consistenly I have been using Lorac’s couture shine lipgloss in glam.

    • Tammy

I’ve just been creeped out beyond belief.
I’ve been using the EXACT SAME products. To the dot.
      *shiver goes up spine*
I really like how it looks natural and Stereo Rose just gives the greatest natural glow.

Oh man. Weird… but cool at the same time!

  6. I would do a neutral yet shimmery eye.. Maybe melon pigment.. Stereo Rose on the cheeks, and By Candlelight as a highlight. Hot Sass on the lips!

  7. I paired it with Jazzed lipstick and Texture on the lid and up into the crease with black gel liner and mascara. Very pretty summmer look.

  8. Amy F.

Today I have it paired with teal/blue eyes … MUFE teal aqua cream as a base, Parrot e/s on the inner third, Big T e/s with Partylicious p/m over it on the middle third and Sugarpill loose eyeshadow in Royal Sugar on the outer. I patted NARS Orgasm blush on my cheeks and dusted Stereo Rose over it. The eyes are intense and the subtly of Orgasm and SR really just balances it nicely without blanking out the face completely.

  9. Dana

I use just like any other blush. It’s pretty but I am disappointed with this item, to me it does not live up to the hype. It is also a little expensive compared to how much product you get. It is just another coral blush, no big deal. I am glad I just bought one and didn’t get multiples because when I am finished with this I’ll move on to other things. /end rant

Today I am wearing it with:
Face: Philosophy Airbrush in Natural, Mac Studio Finish Concealer NC20
Eyes: UD Blunt on the lid, MAC Era in the crease and MAC Copperplate in the outer corner, MAC Molasses pearlglide liner, Rimmel Sexy Curves black mascara
Lips: MAC Dazzle Lipstick Smash hit and Revlon superlustrous peach gloss over to tone down the sparkles

  10. Meesh

I’ve been using this combo a lot!
Lips: Made to Order or See Sheer (pretty similar!)
    Cheeks: Stereo Rose
Eyes: MAC – shroom, stars ‘n rockets, trax, nehru. Urban decay – Flash. Basically grab your purples and do a gradient look!

    And that’s it!

  11. Meagan

I like using the coco rouge from Chanel in Mademoiselle, and I use some of the naked eye palette from Too Face :)
Kind of random, but it looks just right with a cat eye and zoom lash from MAC.

  12. I love pairing it with blue or turquoise eyes and coral lipstick (jazzed is great with Gift Wrap superglass for example!). I sometimes wear it on its own when I’m not in the mood for much make up, it really lights up my face. Love it! :)

  13. unfortunately, i don’t have stereo rose, but i would pair it with my vegas volt lipstick and neutral eyes!

  14. Ummmmmm nothing bc I missed out TWICE on this! Both my MAC and Nordstrom orders were cancelled :(

  15. Ally_D

I’ve been wearing it with See Shear lipstick and/or Revlon Nude Lusture gloss. I generally keep my eyes neutral because coral is a bold colour for me.

  16. Cynthia M.

i’ve totally fallen in love w/ this MSF when at first, i wasn’t too thrilled w/ it. it’s a great every day color that goes w/ everything.

i liked doing a natural look w/ just SR, some mascara, and i think a coral lip. i used my Fresh Salmon from Spring Forecast. it’s just a simple, pretty look!

    • Suzy

Agreed – well that is, I did love it the second I swatched it (before I heard about all the buzz), and now that I have it I keep finding myself reaching for it over other corals. It really does seem to go well with everything!

  17. Mariela

Since it is shimmery, I like a matte shadow like bamboo, and wildly lush plushglass!

  18. Jenny

hey christine =) i dont know if you remember but I asked you about the foundation chart mix up before. I clarified with MAC that NC means neutral cool, and NW means neutral warm. NOT “not cool” and “not warm”. MAC uses the color spectrum, and they classify warm as pink, and cool as yellow, opposite from how most of us calssify the colors. So, I really think you should put warm shades under NW, and cool under NC. =)(even though I know I know yellow=warm, MAC says their color chart puts it under cool)

    • Hi Jenny,

What we do is remember it as not cool/not warm, even though MAC classifies them as neutral cool/neutral warm (you can go to the website and they state the same thing). Unfortunately, this would then make every other brand incorrect – since yellow is indeed warm, and pink is indeed cool – so this is the way the community understands it. MAC is funny about it, since they use the color wheel, but it would not make sense to users as a whole to have assign it that way.

  19. Jasmine

My current fave combo on the cheeks is, pleasureflush cream blush on cheeks, melba powder blush over and then stereo rose over that. Gorgeous!

  20. Hannah

    I have been doing this:

Bare study paint pot on lid as a base
Grand entrance eyeshadow all over lid and in inner corner
    Tempting eyeshadow in crease
Espresso in outer corner and under lashline
    Bourbon 24/7 liner

    By Candlelight as a highlight
Cream bronzer (from to the beach)
    Stereo Rose over the bronzer

Any coral lipstick. I’ve been alternating between Ever Hip and Jazzed.

  21. et_kadodo

I love pairing mine with a combination of Seedy Pearl, Naked Lunch and Graphology e/s. :) But Stereo Rose works with so many things, it’s hard to pick.

  22. Courtney

Still trying to figure that out. I find that it looks nice on me when I try to do very light and girly looks.

  23. Lisa

I have been wearing it with Jazzed l/s and the In The Groove e/s trio.

  24. brandy

ive been use stereo rose as a shadow with nyx cottage cheese at the inner corner and brow highlite…by candlelight as a highliter, stereo rose over some random peach blush…thrills lipstick with flurry of fun lipglass over..corally bronzey summery goodness!!

  25. kfm

Paired it the other day with a sort of neutral-plum eye and Snazzy lipstick. Perfect look for a hot summer day.

  26. Leenie

Eyeshadow: hot hot hot, folie, embark & concealer for brow bone
Blush: get away bronze and stereo rose on cheeks
    Lips: funbathing no lipgloss

  27. Kris

I find Stereo Rose a little too frosty for me although the colour is really pretty. Gals need help to wear it, I am quite light and yellow.

  28. Nora

I’ve worn Stereo Rose two days in a row with Dior’s Crushed Glow palette. I used the pale pink shade on my lid, chocolate brown colour on the outer third, taupe/purple shade on the crease with the coral shade just above the crease colour & the gold colour to highlight. The bit of coral peeking out goes perfectly with SR. I keep the lips really neutral with Chanel’s Seashell glossimer.

  29. The last look I did with Stereo Rose was really simple — no eyeshadow — just curled lashes and black mascara, Stereo Rose on cheeks, Ever Hip on lips (wish I had Jazzed :[), Dior Amber Diamond to highlight and you’re done! I really love simple looks like this for summer, just makes me look like my skin is glowing :)

  30. Hope

    Eyes: Bobbi brown nuetral eye
Cheeks: Hipness as blush then SR as highlight
Lips: Mac fold and tuck or Jazzed with lipglass

  31. Sheena F

I’m an NC40 so my skin tends to absorb MSF’s and lighter colors in general. To make it pop, I layer it on MAC Lilicent Blushcreme.

  32. Priya Sachdeva

The best part of today was trying to take care of my body meaning went to physical therapy to start recovering my acute back pain. I am on the road to reach for my dreams! Yu hu!

  33. Joanne-Marie

What exactly does backorder mean? And does it only apply to those who bought it online and then got an email saying it was sold out?

    • Kalex

I got an email saying it was backordered and would ship in 2 weeks. If you only got an email saying it was sold out then I would assume your order was cancelled. :(

  34. Leea

I would create a neutral eye with a hint of copper and coral, and then I would make a subtle coral lip. :)

  35. Victoria Maria

I feel so sorry for all of you that missed out. Overhere in Denmark, they still have Stereo Rose at the MAC counter, it’s just stood there in it’s display…..waiting for someone to buy it!

  36. Val

I ordered it on Nordstrom but received an email saying it was out of stock and they canceled my order…so sad…luckily I found out Hong Kong MAC still has lots of them and so I bought 2! Love the color!!!!

  37. Red Lippy

    Loving Stereo Rose.
Today I am wearing it on my apple of my cheek & cheekbones,
    contour with Nars Lauguna
patina on eyelid, mulch on crease and outter V.
Jazzed lipstick and a Giorgio Armani gold shimmer lipgloss.

  38. Jennifer

i’ve just been using stereo rose as a blush for any look and it just makes my skin glow and look healthy and radiant during the summer. i think though, my favorite way to wear this is with a simple look. eyeliner, mascara, tinted moisturizer and stereo rose and i’m set!

  39. I contour with NARS Laguna and then I use a light hand to apply this MSF (I’m NW20 and I think Stereo Rose is gorgeous for EVERYONE!). For my eyes, I stay neutral by applying Naked pigment to my lid and highlighting with Orb (these two shades really brighten up the eye and using a liquid liner makes it even better). For my lips, I line with Subculture and for lipstick I use either Lazy Day or Hug Me. Whatever floats my boat, I suppose!

  40. This post literally makes me cry a little. I WANT TO PAIR STEREO ROSE WITH SOMETHING! *stamps foot, and makes boo boo lip* I didn’t get it…

  41. Nude eyes, winged liner, and MAC Crosswires lipstick. Hands down. I don’t even think I LIKE stereo rose, but I would like that combination!

  42. Here is a look with Stereo Rose MSF, pairing with Go For It and All Styled Up lipsticks. Kept the eyes simple with just a dash of eyeliner.

  43. Diana

I did not like Stereo Rose. I thought it was the most overhyped of the three mineralize skinfinishes. Yeah, it’s “the only coral” skinfinish, but really…the color just wasn’t what I expected it to be. I am loving By Candlelight…now THAT is GORGEOUS!

  44. Joanna

What I’ve been doing is wearing it with my natural looks. So with light browns, nuetral eyeshadows, and pastel shadows. I wear either a nude or light pink lip with it. It’s beautiful. I find that I don’t need to use a highlighter when using this. :)

  45. I used Stereo rose for this look! I have many photos on my blog :) I also have the complete list of products I used.

  46. melissa

ive been wearing mine under marine life highkight powder it gives my nc 50 skin the most amazing coral peach glow

  47. shuz4ever
