48 thoughts on “What would you pair with MAC Birds & Berries Eyeshadow?

  1. I have a few looks on my blog but I lujevusing it bestcas a thick liner shadow with neurals. Very pretty.

i got this shadow and since im not used to color i do this:

I apply Rubenesque paintpot as my base.
Then I put Shroom Eyeshadow as a wash of color on my lid and a tiny bit in the crease.
Then I line my eyes with Blacktrack Fluidline, and before it sets i apply Birds & Berries Eyeshadows on top of the liner and then i line my eyes with put on mascara.
It gives a REALLY pretty blue line thats noticeable but not overwhelming :)

  3. I paired it with a champagne-colored eyeshadow which also acted as a highlighter. And that was Stila Kitten eyeshadow, which I thought was quite a close dupe for MAC Hey from Prep For Colour collection.

Do take a look and leave me any comments and/or suggestions. Thanks! :)

    smoked out teal eyes…

i would use an neutral base (soft ochre/concealer), pat birds & berries on the middle of the lid blending a bit outward towards the crease. use carbon/black tied on inner and outer corner of crease sort of “framing” birds and berries in a parenthesis, then blend it slightly towards birds and berries. highlight brow bone with shroom. line upper lash line with blacktrack fluidline and lower lash line with UD oil slick.

on my NC40 skin i would use:
cheeks: sunbasque blush or a light bronzer to warm up the look.
lips: stripdown lipliner, cherish lipstick and ember glow lipglass

  5. Patricia

was planning on wearing it tonight as a lid colour, a bit of carbon in the crease to smoke it out, a tonne of black kohl and mascara, a bit of illamasqua blus (lover) and a nude lippie like peachstock

  6. Morgan

With allthatglitters on the lid, then birds&berries in the crease, and naked lunch for highlight. Then simply put hue as a lipstick and I would be good to go :)

  7. i actually paired it with a matte brown on my outer V

  8. Em

This eyeshadow actually looks really good with a gray lid. If you put it in the crease it makes it look sultry and cute! I’ve worn it that way or it looks good in the crease/outer v with a purple on the lid. It’s pretty versatile! Depending on the look I would probably use a light pink on the cheeks and a nudecolor on the lips.

  9. Jessica

I made a Youtube tutorial with this eyeshadow, I love the color.

    • Tess

Wow, I love the look you came up with! Defenitely gonna try it! Thanks for sharing it (:

What a beautiful and sexy look. You are so pretty and cute! :) Do you think Zen would work out for NC10 skin with pink undertones. I have ordered Laguna, it is on it´s way. Thank you so much for this look. I happen to have the perfect cheek and stars ´n´ rockets + albatross. What was the highlighter you used? The name did not sound familiar to me.

  10. If I had the products for it, I’m thinking about using it in the crease, maybe with a bit darker eyeshadow in the outer v, using lighter colors on the lid. Some blue, green or brown eyeliner/eyeshadow as eyeliner… Rosy cheeks… And glossy, juicy, subtle pink (Natural, reddish/coralish pink would be pretty, but you could use just pink too…) lipgloss :)

  11. I used plumage on the lid, blended into the crease. Birds and Berries went into the crease, and blended upward. Above the crease I used Lucky Green, and then highlighted with Ricepaper.

On the cheeks, I contoured with Prism, and used Dainty (Mineralize) as my cheek colour. On the lips, I used Jingle Jangle Dazzleglass.

  12. I’m wearing it today! I put on Bare Study paint pot and Greengrease greasepaint stick (because greasepaint sticks crease on me without a base), then applied Birds&Berries on the lid, Bough Grey in the crease and blended with Blanc Type. Then I applied a thin line of Greengrease greasepaint stick on the lower lash line and water line. For blush I went with Shell Pearl beauty powder and Feeling Dreamy on the lips.

There’s a pic in my blog:

  13. Leila

Well the color is beautiful all on it’s own so I would say just some whites and silver. Translucent white as a base, silver on the outer corner of the eye and the Birds & berries in the inner. Nice top liner (+ a wing!) and mascara. Not sure about the lips though…probably nothing…

  14. make_up_maven

I don’t have any pics, but I paired it with Electra and got lots of compliments.

  15. Sarah M

I’d apply it all over the lid with plumage eye shadow at the base of the lashes and smoke it out. Black liner, mascara, maybe lashes. I’d just keep cheeks and lips nude, maybe with peachy-beige colours such as tenderling powder blush and creme d’nude lipstick??? If wearing it at night I would also jazz it up with some reflects transparent teal glitter applied to the centre of the eye lids.

  16. I actually just got this today! I’m excited to use it, haha :)
Since it’s super pigmented I think it’ll be great to use as a pop of color on the lower lashline when doing a neutral look :)

  17. shockingblue

I packed Birds and Berries all over my lid to crease, where I then lightly blended Espresso and Kid in my crease. Then, I quickly blended on my eyebrow bone the Give Me Liberty of London shade.
The brown toned down the color to where it gave my crease depth and it was more wearable!

  18. Michelle

I recently did a look using Birds and Berries on the lid — blending out any lines. I put Club in the crease and blended in outer V. I used black liquid liner and black mascara. I lined lower lines with black liner and smudged Birds and Berries on top — and then black liner in the waterline.

    • Alisha in WI

ooooOoooo…I like that, I’m going to try it!

      • Michelle

Let me know how you like it! I wore it the other weekend and my 15 year old niece asked me to show her how to do eye makeup — quite a compliment coming from a teenager :)

  19. I actually used it in a look that I did for YT. I paired it with Grape Pigment, Kitchmas in the corner, and some other colors (it’s been a while since I did the look lol). But on my lips I used Petals and Peacocks, with nightmoth lined around it, and then a little Magnetique over it.

Here’s the link to the video. I thought it was pretty. But this is just the video for the lips…I have yet to upload the eyes. (EXTREMELY LONG UPLOADING TIME :(….)

  20. sass

I paired it with Sumptuous Olive to make a cool look. I did a lot of blending and added carbon in the crease to make a nice smokey eye on it.

  21. Rah Lee

I am NC 50/NW 45 depending on the foundation formula. I used sharkskin as a base on my lid & pressed birds and berries over it. Also smudged it along my bottom lash line. Feline eyeliner along waterline. Stars ‘n rockets was my crease color. I pulled it up a bit higher than my crease and used a concealer a few shades lighter than my skin tone as a hi-lite and to define my brows(already enhanced with liner). Dirty plum blus as a contour and utterly discreet lipglass to seal the deal. No lip liner. Gorgeous.

  22. Erin K

    I used:

    -urban decay primer potion
-grand entrance all over the lid
-birds and berries in the outer V
-smoulder eye liner smoked out near the outer corner of my eye
-finishing off the eyes with curled lashes and 2 coats of smokey lash by MUFE
-blankety lip stick with 3N lip glass over top
-cheeks were dusty lightly with cheeky bronze

  23. kfm

i used bough grey over the lid and guerlain kohl black on the lower lashline, then used birds & berries in the crease, outer v and on the lower lid. worked really well as a slightly teal smoky eye.

paired it with azalea blossom on the cheeks and phlox lipstick.

my bf said i’d never looked better, so i guess that’s a win.

  24. demosthenesval7

I did a really cool look with Birds & Berries yesterday for a friend –

bough grey e/s all over the lid – up to the crease
sweep Birds & berries through the crease and outer v
lightly add aquadisiac in crease and outer v

finish w/ Armani sheer blush no. 5; bronzer no. 1, and the new chanel bondi beach aqualumiere

  25. StellarStace

I borrowed an idea from one of your youtube videos christine, and did a look with nylon, patina, and satin taupe on my lid, but birds and berries and contrast in my crease. i used femme-fi as my brow bone highlight. I was really happy with the results!

  26. Jolene

    I used this eyeshadow today!

    * UDPP
    * Greenstroke Paint Pot – all over lid
    * Birds & Berries Eyeshadow – all over lid
    * Lucky Tom Eyeshadow – crease (doesn’t look brown on, just deepens the crease, and nice fading effect)
    * Brule Eyeshadow – to blend
    * Vanilla Eyeshadow – highlight
    * Blacktrack Fluidline – top liner, waterline
    * L’Oreal Carbon Black Lineur Intense – on top of Blacktrack
    * Shimmersand Shadestick – bottom lashes
    * Smut Eyeshadow – on top of Shimmersand

Blush: NARS Deep Throat, and Blonde MSF as highlight and on top
Lips: Peachstock Lipstick, and Deelight Cremesheen Glass

  27. Laura

today i put blue brown pigment on the lid and bird & berries in the crease with shroom as a highlighter

  28. I bet this would be lovely with Fyrinnae Japan, or robot takeover in the crease, and moons reflection, or aquadisiac in the inner corner, and tapped above the crease. I’d go with a dusty rosy color for cheeks and lips. Azalia blossom? Brit wit? For lips maybe Viva Glam V, or Hue.

  29. Cynthia

i’ve used it packed on the lid, Bough Grey in the crease, and Femme Fi for highlight. pretty easy but so beautiful together! the Bough Grey really softens the crease from the Birds and Berries. i LOVE BNB!

  30. Dallas

I recently tried it in the outer corners of my eyes with stila’s smudge pot in kitten on the lid and brown liner. It looked really pretty!

  31. igswonderworld

I put Bough Grey all over the lid and completed that with Dame’s Desire in the crease. Lined my upper lid with Rapidblack liner. Then on the lower lid I used MUFE 14L Aqua eyes and packed Birds and Berries on top of that. Added Engraved liner in the waterline. Then I used Dirty Plum – sparingly mind you – on the cheeks and finished with Creme in Your Coffee l/s.

  32. amy

I wore Birds & Berries on Friday on the outer eye corners and on the crease with Bough Grey on eye lid, Vex above crease, Shroom as brow bone highlight and Shadestick in Nurture as inner eye corner highlight. To line my eyes I used Undercurrent Pearlglide Intense. For blush I used Cremeblend in So Sweet So Easy and lipstick I used Ever Hip.

  33. Rachel

This is my new favorite look!

-UD Shroom on outer 3rd of lid
-Mac Birds and Berries on top of Shroom but leaving Shroom uncovered on outer corner of lid
-UD Sellout on inner corner of lid blended into Birds and Berries
-Mac Wintersky from crease to brow bone
-UD Gunmetal eyeliner (or Mac Industrial)
    -Dior Iconic mascara

  34. Anna

hah! I just bought it this weekend and wore it yesterday.

It pairs up really well with “club.” I put birds and berries on my lid, club in my out corner and blended it into my crease. in my crease, i put wedge and rice paper as a highlighter. I got ALOT of compliments for that look :)

  35. jennylevi

I bought brids and berries eyeshadow at the last moment… am lucky to got the last one in my counter. Its such a gorgeous color and I personally thought that using it with the traditional black eyeliner would’ve been boring. So I bought the pearlgilde eyeliner in undercurrent.. I wanted to do something different. I used cocomotion pigement in the lid and in the outer v to smoke it out with brids and berries and used under current eyeshadow if you are olive skinned tone to tan complexion it’s the best combo..

  36. Vania Panahon

I put birds and berries in my crease. I also used bat black in the corner of my lips and applied mac Blue flame mineralized eyeshadow in the outer v of my lids. =)

  37. vanessa

A simple look would be to use birds and berries all over the lid, texture eyeshadow in the crease and dazzlelight as highlight

  38. Stephanie K.

Thank you! I bought this colour haven’t found the right look for it yet.

  39. Em

I love this eyeshadow. It can be worn a lot of ways. I’ve worn it in the crease with a grey e/s on the lid, and I’ve worn it in the crease with a purple e/s on the lid. Another way I tried was with a bright green on the lid and birds and berries in the crease. It gave it more of a tropical feel. All three ways are different but the eyeshadow
looked pretty in all of them.

  40. I need this shadow like I need air! Ugh…stupid other responsibilities! LOL! Anyway…I thought using this as the predominant lid color, Nocturnelle (in the crease and blended onto the outer lid), Hey (as an inner lid/tear duct highlight), & Maybe vanilla pigment (brow highlight) would be so pretty over Bare Study Paint pot (all over the lid and swiped on the lower lash line). I would most likely stick with a dark brown liner like UD Bourbon (smudged over the bare study PP) on the lashline (upper and lower) and Stila Topaz kajal in the waterline. Oooo, now I really need this shadow! LOL!
