What we're Wearing

My favorite look this week was… On eyes: Le Metier de Beaute Femme Fatale Kaleidoscope.  (I thought I could review it before it was gone, but alas, it was already gone by the time I finished testing it; if it re-releases, I will review.)

This is such a glamorous look. Very classy and sultry. Job well-done.

  2. Aaargh it is SO cruel! I saw the picture and got all excited because the color combo is SO awesome! It’s heartbreaking that LMdB made it exclusive to their website as well. Shipping to Belgium costs about as much as the quad itself, and as much as I want to own it I can’t really spend that kind of money on one thing. Anyways…

This week my favorite look features Marcelle Paris Rose Rouge Xpression Lipstick! I love the fact that the lipstick is unscented, unflavored, and the formula is great all around. I need more Canadian friends who will send me Marcelle supply 😉

For the rest of my face I used Dior Golden Sand 1 Couleur Eye Gloss all over my lids, Dior Aqua Green Diorshow Waterproof Liner on my lower lash line, and Dior Coral Glow on my cheeks!

  3. That is gorgeous!

Because I’ve been visiting my mum for my birthday, I’ve had very basic make up, but I loved smoking out UD’s Bust today. Pretty and easy haha.

Anyway we could convince you to review or just post dupes of the shades maybe? From the images these colours don’t look hard to find, I could probably easily enough recreate this look with shadows I have but- curious indeed! That purple looks kind of like UD’s Frigid to me o:

    This look is absolutely stunning.

    • Thanks, Alex! I’ll definitely keep it in mind. I’m kinda perpetually behind in reviews, so I try to review at least what you can still buy!

  5. Femme Fatale looks so pretty on you. I still wished you would review it. I just received mine today (a friend coming from US brought it for me) and I will try it out soon, so your picture will be a inspiration for me.

My favorite of the week is today’s look, with Dior Blue Lagoon:

  6. Oh. My. GOSH! Those shades are soooooo beautiful paired together like that. DARN now I’m regretting now hearing about this one sooner. There’s something so rich and regal about the shade pairing but also still really fresh and fun! I love the pop of color on the lower lashline too!

  7. Omg, how did I miss out on Femme Fatale? It’s gorgeous! And that makes it heartbreaking, lol. I’m going to look for dupes now, I love the combination of shades that you used here, very lovely and different from what I would have used. I would never come up with the idea to combine those shades ^^.

Anyway, my favourite look of the week was actually quite unexpected. I receive Chanel’s Moon River and somehow using this I ended up with a very bridal look with a good dose of glam (those glitters are amazing!). It’s really nice tho because I’m totally inspired now for my wedding! Paired with the most perfect soft coral lip (Guerlain Nahema) it’s pretty much all I want really! ^^

You can see it here: I’m even wearing white lace, so yeah, accidental bridal look, heehee ^^!

  8. Just wow! I love the look you created, Christine! I’m going to try my very best to recreate this with what I have. It’s perfect for a date night with hubby. :)

  9. Wow that is incredibly pretty and wonderfully subtle too! I totally missed the boat on this one, but mentally couldn’t justify the crazy arsed amount of money it would cost to get it here.

My fav this week was a fast look starting with NARS TM as a base, I brush a bit of GA Maetro on top of the TM in the small areas where I like a bit more coverage to cover redness, around nose, on cheeks, on chin. These two products behave really well together on me and give me a really nice natural slightly dewy finish. Eyes: Very basic with Tom Ford cream eye colour in Platinum layered on eyelid and brushed into crease. Bobbi Brown cream colour in Shore on browbone, MAC Vex as a bit of a shimmery highlight at brow. Cheeks: NARS Boys Don’t Cry, and Lips: Maybelline Vivids in Shocking Coral.

Wow- that is one STUNNING look! Now I’m kind of glad I’ve never looked into Lmdb products, because that would be so frustrating to miss out a product like that!

My favourite look was quite simple: UD Sidecar all over the lid, UD Buck in the crease, UD Virgin as a hlighter on the browbone. I used Chanel Santal on the waterline, and Chanel Calypso glossimer on the lips. I really like that combination, but unfortunately Sidecar faded after a few hours. No idea why!

  11. Alison

Call me crazy, but I’d love to see the Femme Fatale kaleidoscope review anyway – if anything, just for full-face shots! This look is absolutely gorgeous.

  12. I’ve been wanting this kaleidoscope like crazy! Arggh that it’s not even available. Lovely on you as usual.

  13. The second I saw the picture, I knew what you’d used. I’m so jealous!! Again, I fell victim to the outrageous international shipping (which is ridiculous, since I’m probably closer to them than some places in the US) and wasn’t able to get the Femme Fatale kaleidoscope. The colours look every bit as beautiful as I imagined… I’ll add my voice to the chorus asking for swatches and dupe recommendations if possible… In the meantime, I’ll just hope that Le Metier takes pity and decides to make this beauty available again at some point.

  14. Dominique

Le Métier de Beauté is available on Beauty Bay I think. Very pretty indeed
This week : mostly Dior duo blush 001 + Dior Addict lipsticks ( Exotique, others ) or Chanel RCS Saga or Chanel RC Liaison.
On toes : Orly Vida La Loca
On my hands ( but I’ve just removed it ) : A combo Essie Where’s my Chauffeur + accent nail an OPI ( gltter from the Muppets collection )

  15. Skin – Tarte BB tinted primer (light) and waterproof concealer (fair).
Eyes – UD “Wreckage” eyeshadow” and black mascara. (wreckage is a bronzed fawn brown.)
Cheeks – UD Afterglow blush in “greedy.” (sheer blackberry)
Lips – bareMinerals natural lipgloss in “pomegranate.” (pinked red with gold sparkles)

I’m really enjoying the blush greedy, because I find that the purple shade makes my brown eyes pop the same way purple eyeshadow would, and I can pair it with a neutral eyeshadow and not mute the effect. I can’t pair the blush with a lipstick that has any purple in it, however, or it starts to look sickly. Thus the pinked/red/gold shade.

  16. Cat

    Face: Bare Minerals Matte Foundations
Eyes: Maybelline Color Tattoo Tenacious Teal with theBalm Bossy Bobbi eyeshadow over it, Tarina Tarantino Spark of Envy Hyperliner, Maybelline Great Lash mascara.
    Cheeks: theBalm Mary Lou ‘Manizer
Lips: NYX Clear Mega Shine Lip Gloss

  17. Liz

    Very pretty, Christine.

    Here’s my favorite look below:

Face: Revlon Photoready primer, MUFE HD foundation, Coty Airspun powder, Sephora Perfecting concealer.

Eyes ( did a winged eyeliner look): BB long wear cream shadow stick in Golden Pink, Fashion Fair Amalfi Coast quad (the chamagne and brown color), Stila Smudge Pot in black, L’oreal Million Lashes in Carbon black. Anastasia Brow Powder in Brunette.

Cheeks: L’oreal True Match in Subtle Sable

Lips: Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick in Cognac

  18. Fave look this week was for the wedding I attended on Sunday:

    Face: Bobbi Brown BB cream
Cheeks: Chanel Rose Initiale blush, tiny bit of Chantecaille Les Petales de Roses highlighter
Eyes: I used the Benefit Easiest Nudes palette, and used No Pressure as a base, then ‘Quick, Look Busy in the crease and outer third, and Pinky Swear as a highlight. It’s one of the looks in their ‘tips and tricks’ booklet and I used it because I needed an idea, but I was actually really pleased with how it came out. Finished with Noir G mascara and I was done (didn’t use eyeliner).
Lips: Dior Diablotine (gorgeous red coral)
