What we're Wearing

My favorite look this week was… On eyes: Guerlain Turandot Eyeshadow Quad, Tarina Tarantino Puppeteer Eyeliner (lower lash line), Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill Lengthening Mascara.  I felt like my eyes glowed. This was stunning in person.

  1. Ahh I can’t wait to read the review of Turnadot! I wasn’t sure how the shades would look in real life, but now I know they could look really good!

This week my favorite look is done with Dior Golden Browns palette and Instinct Addict Lipstick. It was a simple smokey eye with an easygoing fall lipstick :)

It’s stunning in the photo too! I’m secretly hoping we’ll get to see a full face shot as well in some lip product review :)

As for me, not much of anything this week – too little time, too much work. I just wore some TM/bb cream, brown eyeliner, mascara, blush and switched between MAC Viva Glam Cindy for evening and a peachy Artdeco lip lacquer for day. Must put in more effort next week.

This week : cheeks Chanel ” Lumière d’Artifices ” illuminating powder, Bare Mineral blush ” the One “, Casual blush in ” keep it loose “, lips Two Faced lipstick in ” celebrity meltdown “, eyelids the new Kiko quads ( I don’t know if you have that Italian brand in the US ? It’s really very good for a low price, around 15 USD for a beautiful long-lasting quad ), nails ( feet ) an OPI nail polish from the Germany collection ( I took 7 out of the 12, I will take the 10 James Bond nail polishes Waouh great collection indeed ).
I also tried a small but nice eyepalette ” Frontcover ” 18 € here and many pretty baked eyeshadows !

I have to tell you, it always throws me off when you do your right eye. Lol. Love this combination… I’ve been doing more looks with bottom liner only vs only top, and I really like how its looking.

  5. OMG that looks so pretty! I should be thinking it’s just a neutral eye but it’s really REALLY pretty! Another item to add to my Christmas wish list perhaps?? :)

    • It did this crazy oh-my-goodness-my-eyes-are-glowing thing on me. I don’t know if it’s my skin tone, or just the general placement (“spotlight” I suppose).

  6. Sometimes the glow from more subdued looks just does not translate in photos, huh? I still think this is super gorgeous on you! I’m not familiar with this Guerlain quad off the top of my head.. I will have to look it up or is it the Holiday 2012 palette? I’ll check.

I didn’t do anything too exciting this week and stuck to some of my same old same olds, but wore a few lippies I really quite love.

MAC Diva has become my favourite MAC shade for now, but I also just grabbed Show Orchid based on that fabulous top 10 MAC posts. I’m also enjoying YSL Rouge Voluptes right now despite not having the best of staying power #14, #108, #110 are amongst my favs. YSL is a brand I’m starting to really appreciate, but did not gravitate to in the past. I also love their Rouge Pur Couture because this one does have the staying power and great texture.

Quick nerdy correction, probably a simple typo but it’s Turandot not Turnadot. Oof, that IS simply stunning, Christine. The opera nerd in me is totally singing.

  8. Eyes: UD Scratch (1/3 of inner lid), Fishnet (middle), Ransom (outer v), Zero (darken outer v), Stila Smudgepot in Black (upper lashline), Essence All Eye on Me mascara.

Cheeks: NARS Sin, MAC Light Year MSF.

Lips: Revlon Lip Butter in Pink Truffle.

  9. Pretty! I’ve been experimenting alot this week, but I think my favorite look of the week was a full-color look with Lush Emotional Brilliance products.

  10. t_zwiggy

Looking forward to your review of the Guerlain quad!

My favorite look this week was very simple.

Eyes: MAC Mythical on lid, MAC Glamour Check in the crease and along the lower lash line.

Cheeks: MAC Secret Blush BPB and Kevyn Aucoin Celestial Powder Candlelight highlighter

    Lips: NARS Cruising lipstick

  12. Really like the color combination. Really nice for fall!!!

  13. Doll

    Such a beautiful look!

  14. Mirian

    this is stunning

  15. Kris

Dark eyes with Burberry Dark Sable and Mulberry paired with MAC Teddy and a good coating of black mascara. Rosy cheeks with MAC Stunner and just lip balm to finish it off.

Can’t wait for your Turandot review, Christine! I was also wondering if we were going to see some reviews of the Tom Ford eyeshadow quads? I’m asking because I think you were wearing one in one of the Youtube ‘week in reviews’ video!

  16. Nadia

This is so pretty! You’re so talented. Will you be doing a tutorial?

  17. Laura

    Thats a great look Christine!

I’ve been doing smokey eyes all week, just for a bit of a change. My favourite was a purpley one: Painterly Paint Pot as a base then MAC eyeshadows (fading from lash line to brow): Shadowy Lady, Blackberry, Illegal Cargo, Blanc Type, Phloof, with black eyeliner and mascara and fairly neutral lips and cheeks (MAC Patisserie and Blushbaby I think).

I also did a pretty awesome cherry blossom nail design from a YouTube tutorial :)

  18. Hope

I’m wearing Maybelline Super Stay foundation+Bobbi Brown loose powder+Stila bronzing powder+Nars Gina blsher+ Nars Albatross highlighter+Bobbi Brown long-wear gel eyeliner+Mac pink nouveau lipstick :) and u Christine look gorgous!

  19. Jenn

Gee Christine, we must be brand twins today!
Guerlain Ombre de Nuit quad on the eyes.
Except I used a Fresh Supernova on my mascara. Hey I got it for free!
Can you tell us how to replicate this look? I really love it and I plan to get this or the Les Fauves.
    Oh man my poor wallet…

  20. Lisa J

This is a stunning look Christine! I always love to see the looks you create and all the different combos you use. I totally try to recreate your looks quite often and this will be another one! :)

I had a busy week, so I kept it quick and simple:

Nars tinted moisturizer (still too hot here in TX for foundation), MAC select cover up concealer and Nars loose powder for the face. MAC paint pots in painterly and groundwork on the lid, a little Wedge in the crease to blend. MAC eye kohl in teddy as liner, brow set in beguile for brows and benefit’s they’re real mascara (quickly becoming my favorite!!). Smashbox Soft Lights in Intermix on the cheeks and Dior Addict # 214 on the lips (all time favorite lipstick).

It takes less than 10 minutes for me to apply it and since I wore my hair in either a top knot or messy bun all week, I went from shower to out the door in less than 45 minutes each day!! I was quite proud of myself…LOL!! 😀

  21. Brittany

So pretty! This is one look I would actually want a tutorial on. I think it would look wonderful on my green eyes.

  22. Nicole

I absolutely love this look. Would you be able to do a quick tutorial video, or even just write out how you created this? This quad will definitely be in my Christmas list to myself :)

    • Hi Nicole!

I’ve done tutorials in the past, so you can check those out, but I use the same placement/technique really :)

I took the lighter plum shade and put it on the inner 1/3 of the lid, then took the brown shade and put it on the outer 1/3 of the lid. I patted the golden shade on the middle of the lid and blended it into the other two shades (effectively making it take over more like 1/2 the lid). I applied the darkest plum shade into the crease and faded it upwards. :)

  23. kayce.

my favorite look i wore this week was also a simple one… my usual combination on my skin: sephora primer, laura geller stick foundation, bare minerals warmth, and coty powder to finish. blush that day was revlon photo ready cream blush in coral reef.

on my eyes i created an easy “smokey” eye with brown l’oreal eyeliner, mac bamboo and bisque eyeshadows, and mac tan pigment. finished up with the usual lash blast in blackest black. i used a chanel lip gloss that is really similar to the mac pigment that was on my eyes, except sheerer. i can’t remember the name of it off the top of my head though lol.

  24. Shelly

Christine, are there MAC colors this quad could be duped with? Thank you in advance :)

  25. You’re feeding my lemming for Guerlain Turandot quad!!! It caught my attention because of it’s operistic name, then I saw pics and thought it was nice, but now that I see it on you, I definitely need it. Your eyes look gorgeous using Turandot quad 😉

I’ve been using Guerlain too, I’m trying several combinations for Les Fauves quad, while rotating Golden High blush + Luxure with Pink Punk blush with Orgueil. I’m also using Nars Sheer Matte foundation.
