  1. I loved this look on you!

My favorite look this week was a mermaid inspired look that I did without using brights. I used Illamasqua Feline, Fatal and Intense, Sugaprill Tako, Afterparty (for my brows), Tarina Tarantino Sparklicity Pure Opal for the lid (with Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy), Nyx Silver, MAC Siahi gel liner, and some Sugarpill lashes.

For my face I mixed Illamasqua Skin Base in 1 with Au (golden) to make a sort of light golden foundation. I used MAC Azalea Blossom blush and I highlighted with Too Faced Candlelight Duo.

For the lips I used Nyx lip pencil in Purple Rain and Morgana Cryptoria lipstick in Troll Repellant.

I just love how it turned out :)

This is a gorgeous fall look, Christine!

Wow that is so pretty! Will definitely be getting that palette, I lovee theBalm…might wait for Black Friday, though, since they had such an awesome sale last year.

This week I really liked my simple work look with the Naked palette…until very recently, I was that girl that always wore a TON of makeup and was super dependent on my eyeliner, heavy foundation, etc. But since I found a great BB cream I’ve been trying out more natural looks and finding I feel way better in them :)

Eyes- TFSI, UD Naked in crease, UD Sidecar on lid, brown covergirl liner on the upper lashline, tiny bit of UD Hustle smudged over that and on the outer V, UD Virgin as highlight/inner corner. UD Sin shadow pencil on inner rims, UD Naked under lower lashline, Revlon Photoready mascara.
Lips- NYX Beige gloss (soft pink)
Face- too faced primed and poreless, skin79 super gold plus vip bb cream, kat von d tattoo concealer, physician’s formula covertox ten powder (love love love!), theBalm down boy blush.

  4. Can I just say that I LOVED this look? I typically *like* them all, but the gold/olive/plum tones in this one were just gorgeous! The blending, the gradient, the tones — I’ve been trying to make time all week to dupe this look ;)

  5. Shades from the NYX Velvet Rope palette to create a soft purple look, Lakme Kajal on the upper lashline, Maybelline Great Lash Mascara. On cheeks and lips: Milani Temptation blush and NARS Fire Down Below lipstick.

This week I’ve been on a Club binge, and tried layering it with as many different bases as possible :) It turns out that yes, a black bease will make it look the greenest, but layering a wash of it over UD Mushroom gives it the green sheen as well!

My favorite combo this week was UD Mushroom all over the lid, Inglot 363 blending UD Mushroom in the crease, and Club dusted all over both of those. Burberry Trench as a highlight, and MAC Teddy in the waterline and smudged along the upper and lower lashlines. Club dusted over that to settle the lower lashline, and Burberry Taupe Brown over Teddy on the upper lashline. Dior Shocking mascara to finish it off.

On my cheeks, Bobbi Brown Cabo Coral as a base for MAC Supercontinental (this blush colour is INSANE it is so flattering!) and on lips, lip balm followed by Bobbi Borwn High Shimmer lipgloss in Bronzed Heather.

Have been trying out UD Naked for the past three days on my face, but it is kind of drying :( I don’t know whether to moisturise more or abandon testing!

    • Christine: if it isn’t okay to post this link, please just remove my last sentence and the link and my apologies since I’m always very tentative about taking liberties :)
Hi Kris: You didn’t identify if the product was MAC or not, so I did a quick google search and came up with the following which gives a great pictorial of MAC Club on different bases and with different colour combinations. I can see why you had a recent binge on this cool chameleon colour. Here’s the link I found if others are interested:

      • Kris

Haha, Wwendalynne, yes it is MAC Club :) Wow, the link is so informative, thank you! I haven’t tried eggplant bases yet, and that’s definitely my next step after seeing those pictures.

I did a look using the entire new wave palette by NARS :)

    • Nicoco Chanel

What’s that palette like? I have it tentatively on my Christmas List but haven’t gotten around to properly trying it at a counter.

    • Kafka

The whole palette??! Wow. I wish you had taken photos of your look. I imagine it must have been spectacular!! :)

  8. L. Houstan

    Perfect for nc25.

  9. Cat G

    This look is sooooo pretty!

  10. Christine: you have the best blending capabilities. Your looks never look muddy and yet you still preserve the vibrancy of each shade. I will keep working at my own technique with the hopes of gaining some ground. I love this look and Alice Cooper stands out so well against the neutral backdrop. Beyooootiful!

This week went by so incredibly fast and I worked a little bit with some basic looks with Armani ETK #24 and Illamasqua. I only photo’d one look as that is all I had time for:

The look you did with this palette is so awesome I think I *have* to buy it.

      • blueraccoon

I bought the palette last night :) I have a question, and I’m sure you’ve answered this before but I can’t seem to find it – for basic eyeshadow brushes, like if I wanted one for all-over color and one for blending, what MAC brushes should I get? I want to say 239 and…I’m blanking. Am I right?

        • For eyeshadow, I usually use the 239 for applying to the lid and then the 222 (or any similar crease brush – I probably use MUFE’s or NARS as often as MAC’s) for the crease. I find the 239 is quite good at everything, really, including blending! If it’s tough, then I’d say a fluffy brush like MAC’s 217 is what I’d reach for!

    • Veronica

I sometimes wonder how many sales her blog generates just by how beautiful some of her looks are. :P

  12. Dominique

It’s a very pretty look Christine, very subtle in fact !

This week I tried my Guerlain blush duo ( pretty blush ! ), on my lips : M.A.C lady bug, Chanel Charme, and others too. Nail polishes OIP from the Germany collection and a Zoya fleck on my fingers ( amazing but hard to remove ! ), well this is it !

  13. Veronica

    So pretty. <3

I did a toned down "Old Hollywood" look on Monday, which is pretty much the only day I had for makeup with all the packing and moving. :P

Eyes: Almay liquid liner in Black Pearl across the eye, gently winged. L'Oreal Million lashes mascara.

Face: Sonia Kashuk tinted moisturizer in Fair, e.l.f. Pink Passion blush

Lips: Smashbox lipstick in Grenadine <3 Officially one of my HG reds.

  14. That’s a great look indeed. My favorite look this week is the one I’m wearing right now: good old black smokey eyes!

  15. Mariella

SUCH a beautiful eye look, Christine! I so hope that palette becomes available here (the Nude Tude one did so I am hopeful). My fave look was yesterday – had to get ready in a hurry to go out to do some shopping and sightseeing. MAC All That Glitters all over the lid, UD Smog in crease and outer corner; GOSH Metallic Brass pencil liner; Marcelle BB cream with Clarins Vitamin Pink liquid blush over top and Clarins Gloss Prodige in Raspberry on my lips.

  16. These are some of my favorite shades rolled into one look! I’ve got to take similar stuff out and try to dupe it!

I finally got to play with Dior Golden Savannah this week, and I managed to use 4 out of the 5 shades in a look (coppery bronze on the inner half, olive brown on the outer, charcoal brown in the outer v and into the crease, and gold on the center of my lids). I still wish there were a shade that I can use to highlight the inner corners easily, but otherwise it’s a great neutral quint that is very fall-appropriate!

  17. Heather

I know you said in an earlier post that yellow/purple is a color combo that doesn’t work well, but this is fairly close and looks awesome!! :)

  18. This looks so lovely! Gold and eggplant, great idea. Aice Cooper looks great (and I love this guy ;-)

  19. Kafka

Lovely, Christine. Antique gold really suits you. If I pay you in dog bones and Mellan tummy rubs, would you teach me some of your skills? ;) lol

My look featured a mix of a Chanel Ombre Facettes I dug up & NARS New Wave Palette: Chanel Amandine (Teal/Turquoise) all over the lid, NARS’ Pandora II (black) in the outer 1/3, V and on the lashline out in a bit of a winged shape, Chanel Tourmaline (dark violet) in the crease, NARS Jolie Poupée I(light lavender) just above the crease, NARS’ Pandora I (white) to blend, highlight up to the brow and in the inner tear duct. UD’s Perversion on the outer lashline on top and bottom. Black Mascara.

The rest: NARS Punjab foundation, Chanel Joues Contraste in Brume Rosé/Plum Haze, Chanel Lumiere Opale/Opal loose powder & Orlane Rouge Extraordinaire lipstick #10 (nude pink-rose).

  20. Whitney

Absolutely gorgeous! I love the look, it goes really good with your eye color… In love!

  21. Amalia

It is a piece of art from the first time i saw it in the balm Jovi palette review! I try to recreate this with the gold e/s from the E.L Bronze Sands palette,Chanel Vert Khaki single e/s , Chanel Magig Night e/s mixed with a touch of Mac Cranberry and Mac Sketch with Deep Damson in the crease. On the lower lash line YSL Bronze Black cream eye liner. It is not perfect as yours but i am happy for trying it. Thank you and soory for my English Big hugs from Greece !

  22. TLC

I used my UD anniversary palette yesterday. I used Chase in the inner corner, Deep End in the centre of my lid, and Ace on the outer part of lid. Blended Omen into the crease, used vanilla for the highlight and Midnight Rodeo on the inner corner. Lined upper lash line with Lise Watier Feline HD in Noir, used UD perversion on bottom lash line in outer corner, deviant on the middle of the lash line and then Midnight Rodeo on the rest of the lash line. Finished the look with lots of Lancome Hypnose black mascara. Used a Buxom gloss on lips.

  23. I love this swatch! How do you take such great pictures?
