What we're Wearing

My favorite look this week was… On eyes: Chanel Riviere, L’Oreal Sultry Smoke, Giorgio Armani #1 Eyes to Kill Waterproof Liner, and Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill Waterproof Mascara.  I liked the color combination, though I’d try to recreate it with other products most likely!

  1. This week it was very hot in the Netherlands, so I made a really sunny look with bright colors. Used a red and gold eyeshadow from Inglot. http://www.emmawessels.nl/looks/summer-brights-make-up-look/

This week I tried Chanel Rose Initiale on the cheeks ( so lovely a blush ! ), then Benefit Bella Bamba and Coralista, today Chanel Horizon and Nars autumn leaves on the lips ( a touch of in fact ), on toes ( feet ) I tried Chanel Vertigo but it was awful, the colour is great but it’s somewhat difficult to apply a deep dark nail polish. Currently I am wearing Zoya Lara. As a perfume Bois Farine, one of my fav fine perfumes ever.

  3. I did a smokey eye with Armani ETK #24 on the lid, fading into the gold from the Illamasqua Neutral palette in the crease. I loved how it turned out! I have pictures here: http://projectswatch.blogspot.com/2012/08/fotd-featuring-armani-etk-24.html

And Christine – I’m so glad you’ve reviewed (and raved about!) the ETK shadows, doubt I would have tried them otherwise – ETK #24 is now one of my favorite eyeshadows of all time. I love it as an eyeshadow and as an eyeliner, totally worth the price for me.

  4. My Favourite look was: the brown and peach from the Estee Lauder Violet Underground Palette with Cover Girl Champagne. Indelible Eyes Raven Waterproof eyeliner on the upper waterline and Cover Girl Professional Waterproof Mascara in Very Black. Annabelle eyeshadow in Ivory to cover my dark circles and cover some random redness on face(yes I use an eyeshadow, it’s the perfect colour and just disappears into my skin! Bad, I know) I filled my Brows for the first time ever, I used MAC Copperplate(whoa dramatic eyebrow difference!) And I used MAC Immortal Flower blush. I didn’t care for my lipstick look -ugh- so let’s not mention it! LOL

That loks very pretty. I haven’t really worn much makeup this week…just mascara, blush, and lipgloss.

Sort of borrowed one of your looks, Christine. I hadn’t used the UD 15th Anniversary palette much and decided to pull it out to get ready for tonight (we’re going to a bbq with my daughter’s future in-laws). I put chase all over the lid with Deeper in the crease and outer corner and under my lower lashes. Gosh Metallic Brass liner and I’m actually wearing MASCARA (Lancome Hypnose) to see how it wears. Marcelle BB cream instead of foundation, MAC Early Morning (I think that’s what it’s called – a peachy mineralized blush) on my cheeks and Sweetie on my lips.

  7. Love your look here, Christine! I was swamped with farm stuff and didn’t have a chance to do much other than try out some of the new Guerlain G L’extraits. It’s been a pretty dismal week creative wise and that always leaves me feeling empty and slightly grumpy. Today is hot as hell and I don’t know if it is hormones or not, but I can’t stop sweating and I have zero patience with myself. Looking forward to next week and having a little more free time on my hands.

  8. I love the color combo on you, but I’m assuming the quad isn’t amazing?

This week my favorite look is the one the Estee Lauder MUA did on me (mostly) with their Violet Underground palette. For the life of me I couldn’t follow all the mixing and layers she was doing, but it was the most full-on purple smokey eye I’ve ever worn in my life! Oh, and because someone took my pictures so you get to see the right side of my face and right hand, which you would otherwise not see (I just prefer the left side of my face, and can’t click on the shutter with my left hand so I systematically show polish swatches on my left one)!

I love (LOVE!) the purple on you! And, as always, you look utterly gorgeous. But the purple *really* suits you, imo. I also really love your nail look, esp. with that ring. I’m a sucker for any variation of greys, not to mention purples, so your whole look was right up my alley. Interesting story about Kate Moss & the Viper Room. Thanks so much for sharing all of that. :)

      • Aww thanks so much Kafka! I am a bit cautious about grey (because I’m really pretty warm-toned), but purple has always been my number one favorite color! I thought that bit of gossip is fun to share too ;)

I got inspired by all those Sephora purple eye looks on Temptalia so I did a dark purple eye that I loved but, to be honest, I’m not completely sure how I arrived at it. Towards the end, I was getting carried away with diff. purples and some of madness is a blur. LOL. I used Sephora’s Waterproof eyeshadow pencil in Violet (love!) as a base, then used UD’s 24/7 eyeshadow pencil in Delinquent in the outer edges of the eyelid and crease, NARS’ Melusine I (the silver lilac) over the inner 1/3 of the eye and to blend, something (I have no idea what, Daphne?? Melusine II? One of those mixed with the Sephora?) above the crease, then UD’s Perversion on the outer lashline, Sephora Violet on the waterline, NARS Himalayas on the brow bone to highlight with some NARS Riviera, and black mascara. I’m getting a bit better at cellphone self-portraits, though it took *forever* to get a shot that wasn’t blurry:

Face: NARS Punjab foundation, NARS Riviera Multiple as blush, MUFE Finishing Powder, NARS Funny Face as lipstick and Zoya FeiFei nail polish to go with the eyes.

Hi Christine, I thought this look involved the Chanel Riviere Illusion d’Ombre and a L’Oreal shadow?

  11. Leon Point

With the UD Naked : sin under the browbone, naked on the crease and smog all over the lide with zero on the waterline. Mascara clinique bottom lash (great with eyes doing like ‘panda look’ at the end of the day) and Diorshow waterproof.
I’ve never used SMOG colour on this palette and this look was a revelation to me…
It is my (couple)-week-look wich is never done before…

  12. I love the soft blue shade on you, Christine- I’m a little iffy with the Chanel IdO shadows because they’re so frosty, but they always seem to work on you.

My personal favourite look this week was something I did with one of Ellis Faas’ eye products, her “EYe Light” in bronze. I dabbed a little bit on my lids and sort of blended it out so it was darker at the corners and I applied Mac’s DaBling over the inner half of my lid. It made a really nice pink and gold-bronze combination for me.

I combined that with Nars Outlaw blush and Rouge d’Armani 605 on the lips.

    I have a few photos here: http://morelikespace.blogspot.ca/2012/08/making-faces-ellis-faas-pens-are-mighty.html

They’re the ones further down, in the blue dress.

I appreciated the fact that this looked neat and presentable, but took about five minutes. Very important for someone who tends to sleep in…

I really love this look on you, so soft and delicate looking. How’d Sultry Smoke work out for you? It was the first of the L’Oreal Infallibles I bought, and it’s definitely one of the one I use quite a bit. It’s a great crease color for when I do softer looks.

Eyes: Milani Shocking Pink, Purple Shock, and Olympian Blue in a rainbow gradient, with a tiny touch of silver from Milani’s Runway palette in the inner eye. Maybelline Stiletto on the lashes.

Face: Sephora brand tinted moisturizer, Bobbi Brown Nude Pink dusted very lightly on cheeks.

Lips: Revlon Lip Butter in Strawberry Shortcake

  14. Profile wp-user-avatar wp-user-avatar-60 alignnone photo of Emily 18thCenturyFox

Body & Soul Treasure e/s on the lid with Moth Brown in the crease (strangely the warm and cool browns played well)
    Clinique Quickliner Intense in Chocolate
    Lancôme Doll Lashes
    Sephora Argentinian Duo(both sides)
    MAC Hue

I’m re-entering the job force so no more fun MU until I win the heart of my employer and co-workers and can show my true colors >=D

  15. My gold and copper look with Meow and BftE was easily my favorite look this week.

    http://www.phyrra.net/2012/08/autumn-vacation-at-siesta-key-tutorial.html

I used BftE Autumn on the lid, Meow Siesta Key in the crease, lower lash line and outer corner of the lid, some BftE Ornamental to highlight and BftE Salted Caramel for the upper crease.

I love how that lid shade on you looks minty!

  16. Vanilla

Loooooove this look on you! Unfortunately I can’t pull off something like this… pastels look really weird on mono-lids D: Like I have puffy eyes or something.

  17. Very pretty, you have such beautiful eyes. My favorite look is the one I’m wearing today. I’m wearing Shiseido cream eyeshadow in a metallic greenish bronze with subtle winged liner and lots of Shiseido full definition mascara.

  18. Rosie

This beautiful photo makes me so envious. I want Chanel Rivière SOOOO MUCh. I hope it gets a UK release!

  19. Profile wp-user-avatar wp-user-avatar-60 alignnone photo of tzwiggy t_zwiggy

Eyes: MAC Henna on inner 1/3 of lid, MAC Mink & Sable on outer 2/3, MAC Flourishing mixed with a tiny bit of MAC Concrete in the crease and along the lower lashline. Stila Smudge Stick in Moray on the waterline.

    Cheeks: Nars Luster

    Lips: Nars Cruising lipstick

  20. Profile wp-user-avatar wp-user-avatar-60 alignnone photo of Marianne Mar

    Eyes:
YSL Touche Eclàt as a base, UD ‘Smog’ all over the lid and a little under my eyes. MAC Eye Kohl in ‘Smolder’ along the upper and lower lashline and Max Factor Lash Fusion Mascara. Gives a nice smokey eye without being too overpowering.

    Lips:
Just a little colored lipbalm by Blistex.

  21. What did you use to fill your eyebrows in here?! They look awesome :)

  22. Bobbie

Eyes: UD primer potion, Stila’s Kitten eyeshadow allover lid, on tearducts, and browbones, UD’s Buck in crease, Stila stay all day waterproof liquid eyeliner in whatever their black shade is called (probably black) for a long cat eye looked. Plus, some UD’s oil slick for tightlining. Plus Maybelline’s collasus waterproof mascara in their blackest shade.

Cheeks: Mac cremeblend blush in Blossoming, set with Loreal’s true blend blush in Innocent Flush.

Lips: Paired with Revlon’s matte lipstick in Pink Pout.

I like to wear this bright cat eyed look when I wear my glasses (which I am today). :) Plus classes start today at university so this is my favorite casual, yet pulled together school look.
